LTL Language School Reviews 

Our son had one of the most unforgettable experiences with the LTL Tokyo program over the summer! He found it easy to stay engaged with four hours of classes each day and small groups of about 6 to 10 students. Miyu-sensei was a fantastic teacher, very enthusiastic and positive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable!

In the afternoons, they explored various parts of Tokyo while learning about Japanese culture. Some of his favorite moments were with Patricia and Kai, who led the city excursions and were a lot of fun to be around! They visited Gotokuji Shrine, famous for its lucky cat statues, participated in a traditional matcha tea ceremony, and even went white-water rafting on the weekend, which was a fantastic break from the city.

He stayed with a wonderful host family, and we are genuinely thankful to them for their warm welcome and kindness in making him feel at home. Living with them gave him more daily chances to practice Japanese and learn about everyday life, which helped increase his confidence with the language.

A big thank you to Sabatino and Elli, the program coordinators, for their kindness and support - they really made everything easier!

We truly recommend this program to anyone who wants to improve their Japanese speaking and writing skills, while really getting to appreciate Japan's wonderful rich culture! It is hard to imagine a more rewarding experience - with wonderful teachers, captivating history, beautiful nature and traditions, and unforgettable memories! Our son would love to return next year!

I've been at LTL Chengdu for two weeks now, and it’s been a great experience so far. From the first day, everyone at LTL has been welcoming and very supportive. The entire team is helpful and creates a great learning atmosphere. My teacher, [Panpan] has been amazing! As a beginner, I really appreciate how she tailors lessons to match her students' level and learning pace. Her teaching style has made difference in my progress, and I feel more confident. I’m excited for and look foward to the weeks ahead!

I had a wonderful experience. It was my first time in China and I felt support from both the host family and the school. The ltl atmosphere is very good both teachers and students are very good. I loved the lessons both because of the teacher and the fact that there are few students so the teacher can focus on every student in detail. The school also offered every week activities in Beijing very fun. I would do this again !

I had a wonderful experience at the LTL school in Chengdu! As a complete beginner in Chinese, I was lucky to have Unicorn as my teacher, she was patient, clear, and made every lesson enjoyable and effective. A big thank you to PanPan and Mandy as well for their incredible friendliness and guidance throughout the week. They made everything smoother, from helping us settle in to sharing great tips on what to see in Chengdu. I especially loved the Thursday event, it was a great way to connect with others and experience the local culture. Highly recommended!

The school atmosphere was great and everyone, from the teachers to the students, were so nice! I really enjoyed my two months in Chengdu and really recommend! Regardless of age, nationality or prior experience I do truly think you will have a great time with LTL!

I studied in Saigon for 3 weeks and I wouldn’t change anything about my experience! My teacher (Edward) was amazing and always willing to go on whatever adventure I could think up. He always made me feel comfortable speaking with strangers because I knew he had my back. I could not have asked for a better teacher! My homestay family was also amazing and extremely welcoming. My 3 weeks flew by but the people I met really made the experience for me. I would definitely do it again in the future.

I spent 5 weeks at LTL Beijing and I had a lot of fun! The activities really helped me discover new places in the city but also get to know the culture. The teachers are all really kind and will take their time to explain any doubts you may have. It was also a great opportunity to make new friends from all over the world

This year our 13yr old son traveled alone to Tokyo to attend the LTL Tokyo summer Camp! Of course we were nervous sending our son around the world alone but it was the best decision we made as parents. The LTL staff did everything to ease our concerns. We had virtual meetings where all our questions were answered and Ranko’s level could be evaluated. Their attention to every detail of his stay was top notch. Our son enjoyed being immersed in the culture while learning Japanese. Focused class time combined with amazing interactive excursions made this camp an amazing experience. I highly recommend it.

I loved everything about LTL Mandarin School in Taipei! From the very first day, the organization and attention to students were outstanding. The staff is incredibly responsive and friendly, making sure every student feels welcome and supported.
My 10-year-old son joined the program and his host family was wonderful. Living with a local Taiwanese family was the highlight of the experience-they treated my child like their own, made him feel at home.
The teachers at LTL Taipei are exceptional-patient, engaging, and skilled at making lessons fun while ensuring real progress. The school’s immersive approach, combined with small class sizes and cultural activities, made learning feel effortless and enjoyable. Plus, Taipei itself is an amazing city for young learners-safe, vibrant, and full of friendly people.

LTL online one to one class: Every week I attend two hours one to one lesson with perfect teacher Serena. We are learning now HSK5 book, and she is very focussed and helped me to go on steadily! I like this kind of lesson very much! The teacher helped me to keep on going👍

My daughter, a recent high school graduate, had a wonderful gap year at LTL. Director Riona was great and worked hard to help her acclimate. Teacher Juju was very helpful. Teacher Tammy was amazing and had a very positive influence on her.

I did a 4 week language course at LTL Chengdu with my teacher Presli. The school environment is great, the people are very welcoming and nice and the quality of the lessons is great. Outside of classes they also organize many optional activities that are a lot of fun. The school building is also great and has an amazing location, easy to reach and close to many nice restaurants and malls. I definitely recommend this school!

My time in Japan has truly been one of the most unforgettable and meaningful experiences of my life.

This was my very first trip to Japan, and to be honest, at the beginning I was quite nervous. Traveling to a country with such a unique language, culture, and lifestyle felt overwhelming — I didn’t know what to expect. But from the moment I arrived, all my worries started to fade.

One of the most important things that made my experience so incredible was my host family. They were absolutely wonderful — warm, patient, and always willing to help me practice Japanese. Thanks to them, I was able to learn not only the language, but also understand the everyday life and values of Japanese culture. They taught me so much, and I’ll always be deeply grateful for the time we shared together. I truly felt at home. 🏠

At the language school, the teachers were equally amazing. Each one of them had their own teaching style, but all of them were kind, professional, and attentive. They took the time to understand my level and learning needs, and supported me not only with grammar and vocabulary, but also with daily conversation practice, which really boosted my confidence. They even helped me prepare for an important exam, and thanks to their guidance, I felt much more capable and prepared.

Aside from the lessons, the school offered a variety of cultural activities that made this experience even more enriching. I had the chance to try Japanese calligraphy, participate in a tea ceremony where we made and enjoyed matcha, and explore traditional arts that I had only ever seen in books or online. Every activity was fun, meaningful, and beautifully organized.

We also went on excursions to some incredible places like Kawagoe and Enoshima. These trips gave us the opportunity to not only practice Japanese in real-life situations but also to learn about history, nature, and local traditions.

Looking back, I’m just incredibly thankful — to the school, the teachers, my host family, and all the organizers who made this journey possible.
This experience gave me not just better Japanese skills, but also a deeper understanding of the culture, and a lot of beautiful memories that I will carry with me forever.

I did a 12-week Chinese course with LTL in Chengdu, and I had the best time. The city itself is just awesome – friendly people, amazing food, and always something cool to check out.
As for the course, the teachers are what makes it great. My teacher, Ying, is a very open-minded and cultured person, which brought a lot of depth to the lessons beyond just the textbook. She also helped me outside of class, always ready to chat, answer questions, or even give tips on where to find the best food. But really all them, Pan Pan, Unicorn and the others, made it fun and interesting, always providing opportunities to practice Mandarin in real-life settings. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a solid but fun learning experience in a great city

I got to spend 9 months here at LTL in Taipei. It was great the whole time. Had a blast hanging out and making friends, plus I even learned a little Chinese to boot. Shoutout to all those that made my experience what it was: Alin, Riona, Thomas, Sabrina, Tammy C, Tammy X, Ivory, Yunni, Sissi, Greta, Otty, Marine, Hannah, Sue, Sherry, Vivian, and to everyone else there who I'm sorry I may have forgot!

I had 4h every working day for 2 weeks. It was so great, I took another 2 weeks a month later on my 3 month japan trip. At this time LTL had no class rooms and no other students on my level. So in the first 2 weeks we learned 1:1 in star bucks and co. I liked this very much, beeing much more in touch to the real people/situations (ordering coffee myself for example), than in a classroom. The last hour was 'cultural program' (shrines/temples/ikebukuro...) where I spoke with my teacher as much as possible in English. This was great and the reason why we went to a different coffee shop every day. Yuki-Sama was a really great teacher and layed the fundament for talking to so much people in the small towns on my solo trip later. On the second 2-weeks I had class by Haru-Sama, another good teacher, also 1:1, but now at the temporal LTL place. In summary: Best note for LTL Tokio

I have had such an unforgettable experience at LTL Beijing! A place really is its people and here I had a magical time feeling at home with the LTL family.

Not only did I feel welcomed by everyone as soon as I stepped through the door- but even before I got to Beijing! My student advisor Ilaria and the school manager Linda patiently and diligently helped me to plan my trip and secure my visa before arrival. The school managers Jane and Linda are incredibly caring and light up the school. They would always be more than willing to give us recommendations to explore the city or help us out with anything at all like exchanging money. They would even go above and beyond to ensure we had a special experience like once we mentioned wanting to try out 功夫 and Linda would book this activity for us as a wonderful surprise.

All of the staff are incredibly patient in using Chinese and helping us outside of the classroom too! Every morning and in breaks they engage in Chinese chats with us to help us practice and brighten up our day. Sometimes they would have to repeat things or speak incredibly slowly for us and they would always do so with a smile which really helped me to learn. For instance Masako even taught us how to play Mahjong in Chinese! I also felt incredibly close to Beijing thanks to my connection Carol who would ensure I did all the things that excited me the most and made sure I always felt safe. Since I am vegetarian, I was previously worried that I would struggle but Carol took me to a fully vegetarian (and very well priced) buffet close to where I live, ensuring I didn't miss out on anything!

I couldn't be happier with my Chinese learning experience and am so lucky to have been taught by 王老师。 Lessons were so engaging, stimulating and interesting that I would remember them well and be able to incorporate phrases from class when interacting with the locals outside of class. I absolutely loved 王老师's teaching method as she was focused on ensuring we absorbed the crucial words and grammar to soar to a higher level while teaching us how to use the language as a natural 北京儿. So as well as advancing fast through the textbooks we often had activities like debates and topic discussions. 王老师 also taught us about culture as well as language- ensuring we ate like a local (with recommendations like the Durian pizza) as well as lived like one like practising our Chinese watching cinema recommendations. My friends would even ask me about my favourite times I'd had in Beijing and I would genuinely answer that lessons were one of the best!

I am forever grateful for the memories I have made here with the LTL family in Beijing and look forward to making more!

I had an excellent time at the Chengdu School. All the teachers were so welcoming, very knowledgable and went the extra mile to include you as part of their LTL family. It was well organised and suited to your needs. I would highly recommend this school to anyone!

I spent 4 weeks at LTL Chengdu, I loved my classmates, my classroom and my teacher!

Presli always supported me learn Chinese at a speed that suited me. Inside or outside of class she would always answer any questions and support me in my learning journey. She went above and beyond my expectations for a tutor, I am very glad to have been her student.

LTL Chengdu is a very social school, with daily lunch together and Social Thursdays every week. These were a great opportunity to practice my speaking skills with local chinese whilst also making friends. I highly recommend going to LTL Chengdu to fast track your Chinese language skills.

My experience with this program has been extremely good. The program offers a very friendly schedule with start time at nine and end time at six. This leaves plenty of time for students to be able to do whatever they want before and after such as talk to family or go out and explore. There is a perfect blend involved of learning a language and learning the culture. Not only that but you get to meet other people that come from all over the world who you can also learn from.
