This was a nightmare from start to finish. First they questioned the space in the carrier for my dog. This carrier has been used for her travel many times. She is 5 kg, and the carrier is at the maxim... See more

Flight delay almost 8 hours
Flight delay almost 8 hours. Lufthansa website says compensation is available if more that 3 hours and over 3500km. I was flying Beunos Aires to Franfurt.
They replied to my documentation that it wasn't their fault- it was a staffing issue (so who's fault is that ... mine?)
I was claiming a hotel room and a meal as the flight was now not leaving until the early hours of the following morning.
They are now ignoring any emails from me. I tried to contact them on Facebook messenger and was advise to employ.l the services of a debt collector!!! I have now given all the details to SOP. Would never contemplate flying Lufthansa again.

I had a flight which got cancelled so because of that i had to buy another ticket
My ticket got cancelled because of the strike but it is very hard for me to assume that the strike had happened all of a sudden.however when they knew about the strike why would they sell tickets to the customer as a result i had to take the forced vacation from my work which did cost me more than 1500 euro more from the salary and i had to buy a ticket worth 900 euro
Henceforth exhausting and very bad experience overall
Poor airline. Poor service. Can I give a zero ?
First time using this airline and there was a problem at every leg of the journey both outbound and inbound. The first leg left late without explanation. For the connection flight passengers were told this was oversubscribed and we waited for volunteers to catch the next one. Severe delays because of greedy airline .return journey also told too many passengers so carry on would need to be checked in. Due to human error my boarding pass was rejected and I had to wait until last to board. Connection flight should have taken off but no plane arrived to board and no explanation given to passengers.
Shocking Lost Baggage Procedures
Shocking Lost Baggage Procedures.
Lufthansa lost my bag on a flight from London Heathrow to Cape Town (via Frankfurt) during December 2023. After logging my bag as lost on the online platform, I did not receive any updates - aside when I called to find out if my bag had been found. The call centre in question was an off-shore call centre without any ability to provide any real help.
During my trip to South Africa, I had a wedding to go to where I was a groomsmen - which required a new suit. As the days ticked by, I required more clothes to wear - therefore increasing my expenses with respect to incidental clothing.
My bag was eventually found - 32 days after my initial flight, in Tampa, Florida on a Virgin Atlantic flight.
I have since claimed compensation for my clothing expenses without any meaningful response from Lufthansa. It has now more than 2 months, and I still have not been compensated. On following up on why this is - I was advised that the agent helping me could not do anything/follow up with the issue, and that I'd need to lodge another compliant to complain about my initial issue. Hugely frustrating.
Lost luggage, no recompensation
I had a flight which transferred in Paris. The Lufthansa flight to Paris was badly delayed, my sister and me just made it into the next flight but our luggage did not. We flew to Vietnam and had to buy clothes, shampoo, etc. until our luggage finally arrived 6 days later.
Until now, Lufthansa refuses to pay any (even small) reimbursement. Their reasoning is that we don't have any receipts for our errands, although it is well known (and we also told them) that you do not get any of them in south east asia. So instead of offering any fixed amount as compensation, they actively decide to not do anything about their mistake.
Utter shambles and compensation claim process is a black hole
Outward flight - luggage delayed 6 hours and limited communication (including no alert that the luggage had arrived at the airport finally). A pain since it cost a day of a 3-day trip, but tolerable.
Return flight - overbooked and unable to check in online *more than 4 hours* before the flight time. Staff at the desk admitted that it had been hugely overbooked and dozens of people would be unable to fly! Alternative flight they used was not only longer and with a transit but it got into the destination airport so late it was necessary to pay for a hotel there as trains home were no longer running.
Worst of all - they have not issued a single euro or even airmile of compensation for this shambolic destruction of a holiday and our budget. They do not even have a record of the compensation claims. And the only people you can speak to (by chat not phone of course) say they are unable to see compensation claim processes as it's 'a differrent system', also that I would need a reference number, which was not given in any confirmation email from Lufthansa (there was no compensation claim confirmation email) and was not stated on screen when the claim was submitted. Five months later and not a squeak from them. Not the first time either. But it will be the last - won't be booking a flight with them ever again and nor should you.
The wheel chair assistance was…
The wheel chair assistance was requested at the the time of booking directly with Lufthansa, which was confirmed but to our surprise upon arrival at Frankfurt airport the ground staff was very negligent and rude and said they don’t have any staff to help. How the hell do they expect passenger to walk when it was clearly mentioned that assistance is required! When my dad said he don’t mind waiting but it’s less than a hour left for connecting flight the lady said “ you are not my guest I cannot help”😠Worst airline… never travel with them again!
Cabin Crew…..Bravo Zulu!!
I cannot praise the lovely staff on my flight from Munich to LHR on Tuesday the 30th, 1730. I had sustained a head injury and asked if someone could keep an eye on my during the flight. I had a ticket to fly from the doc, but my wife thought it would be a good idea as I was travelling alone.
I woke up having been given the whole bench in business class, to a paper bag full of what I thought was good. It was gins, tonic and chocolate!
They all wished me well and handed me a little note. Get well soon.
Lovely lovely people. Thank you team xx
you should never fly with a Swiss…
you should never fly with a Swiss airline. they treat their customers so bad. we have had a 24 hour delay and they don't care what the law says. they have to replace us with 600 euros and they fill us with lies and will not prove their claim. They does not follow EU legislation and their customers mean nothing to them.
NEVER have I experienced anything so crazy. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS AIRLINE. THEY BREAK THE LAW AND THEY DON'T CARE.
Stunningly bad
A customer service agent cancelled my return flight by mistake and then they tried to ask me to pay thousands of euros to restore it! A very stressful few days ensued trying to work out how to get home. Onboard staff ranged from overly officious to downright rude. My luggage was lost on the return trip. No remedy for any of this from customer service.
Absolutely disgusting changed flights 4…
Absolutely disgusting changed flights 4 times and asked for more money each time for extra leg room even though it was paid for at time of booking, so that's 4 price increases . Just money making . I am discussed never book with them again.
Lufthansa cannot provide service confirmed prior to purchase
I am highly disappointed in Lufthansa. I wanted to travel from Dublin to Budapest and back with my small dog. As the website does say that the airline reserves the right to decline pets in cabin for Irish fights, but knowing the ban was lifted last summer but to be careful I called the customer service to ensure if I book I can bring the dog back. I was assured by the customer service that I can bring the dog back in cabin on both routes.
After this confirmation I bought the tickets and then called the customer service again to book my pet into the flights . And the guess what: I cannot take the dog back to Dublin. I was first told it’s the embargo , then I was told it is Dublin airport, then I was told it’s because Lufthansa. Of course, am also told, I don’t get a full refund because I bought the second package not the most expensive one that is refundable.
I was scammed and lied to. Am highly disappointed in a once so reliable company.
DISGUSTING LIARS

Walk or Swim you would probably get there quicker
TOTAL SHAMBLES
Inefficient
Late flying out to Germany from Ireland. Extremely late on return flight also - over two hours. Completely inefficient baggage loading system. Any time I've used Lufthansa, it has been like this. Ryanair are so much more
efficient.
If I could have given them less than…
If I could have given them less than one star I would have. Flight got cancelled and they booked me and my 3 young kids on another flight 4 days from my flights original date. I called customer service 5 times and they are useless. They put me on hold and then drop the calls. Pay abit extra and book with a reputable airline. Never ever booking with those guys. Worst airline customer service ever
LUFTHANSA DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU
We received a message whilst in Munich to say our flight home on 3rd December to London Heathrow was cancelled. Despite trying to speak to the online assistant about where we were supposed to say for the additional time we needed to stay, we couldn’t get any details about our apparent ‘hotel booking’ they advised us of. When we managed to speak to Lufthansa on the phone they said the only option was to travel to the airport to find out what was going on. We stood in the airport bus queue for 2 hours in -7 degrees, I am registered disabled after being at high risk of having a stroke.
We arrived at the airport where we had to form another queue for 1.5 hours but when we got nearer to the front, the workers just closed the doors and walked away!
My sister who was travelling with me suffers with anxiety and depression which she takes medication for - and this was a highly stressful situation for her which caused her to have several panic attacks.
We had to find last minute accommodation at a very high price which was like staying in a hostel and the next day after a terrible nights sleep we processed to the airport to catch our flight home. Our flight was scheduled at 4pm and we waited until 6pm to board the plane when 10 minutes before we boarded, Lufthansa emailed with a £10 voucher to use at the airport (an absolute insult) and completely useless as we were just about to board the plane. Whilst we were on the first flight home via Frankfurt we were told our flight to Heathrow was cancelled (probably due to the fact the initial flight was delayed) we then proceeded to the Lufthansa desk to find out where we were meant to stay for the night and if we could get on an earlier flight. I also needed to find somewhere I could get more medication as by this point after all our delays getting home, I had run out of all the medication I needed. We approached the front of the desk where the staff had decided they had had enough and closed the office. We were told to go outside to find out our hotel information but of course the staff were just trying to get us out of the airport. We yet again had to stay in another hotel in which we had to use an unarranged overdraft to pay for.
On the 5th December we finally boarded our flight to Heathrow albeit being *slightly* delayed we finally arrived home 48hrs later.
The Lufthansa airline and Munich airport is an absolute DISGRACE. In all the flights I have been on in the last 31 years, never have I ever been treated with such disrespect, disgusting treatment and poor communication. I understand the weather is out of everyone’s control but as an airline they should have far better contingency plans in place. Not only did my sister miss her daughter’s nativity performance but we both had to take two days of unpaid leave from work.
I will never travel to Germany again and I will NEVER EVER fly with Lufthansa, going forward I will deter ALL friends, family and acquaintances to deter from EVER using the appalling excuse of the Lufthansa airline.
Worse than Ryanair
A 6 leg round the world trip, from Manchester via Munich, Singapore, Sydney, Santiago and Buenos Aires, was nothing short of a disaster. Multiple delays, including a 26 hour one, and an awful flight experience with a seat that wouldn’t recline and a faulty screen, on a 13 hr flight. Didn’t know where to start with so many individual complaints. But it didn’t matter, the customer care is non-existent. Several emails have gone back and forth, but they don’t take responsibility for anything. I will NEVER fly with Lufthansa again, and I suggest no one else does either. Lesson learned the hard way. Avoid at all cost.
In a recent 9 hour Business class trip
In a recent 9 hour Business class trip, I had a terrible journey, causing me much pain and anxiety. My seat did not recline and was very uncomfortable. Two, inflight attendance wedged me out at one stage, as my seat could not be moved back. I was expecting a flat bed on business class. Lufthansa failed to provide me the service expected.
On returning I made a complaint. Lufthansa apologized for the incident and offered me Euro 25 as compensation. I am insulted, is this the way they treat their Business Class passengers.
As a frequent flyer of many airlines, I am appalled by the importance Lufthansa's is placing on this issue and the way their customers are being treated.
Woeful Lufthansa
Flight cancelled 6 hours notice, links in email useless.arranged other flight through customer services had to make connecting flights.
Had to travel economy instead of business, told I am not entitled to any compensation.
As a side note our long haul flight Frankfurt to
Singapore business class the vegetarian meal no options was awful have had far better meals in economy on other airlines, will not use again.
Not following European regulation = criminal offense
I would give zero stars but that's not possible on this website. Lufthansa is a fraudulent company which doesn't follow European regulation No. 261/2004 (compensation for flight delays) & they clearly discriminate customers, as my co-passenger did receive 600 EUR compensation for those same flights. Their customer service representative Joseph Pratap keeps copy/pasting the same nonsense message. I'm currently moving forward with further legal action against Lufthansa & for the rest of my life I will advise everyone that I know to never fly with Lufthansa in their lifetime.
