Purchased a luggie from luggie scooters, leigh. Nothing but problems and they seem unable to fix it properly.

Beware of service arrangements!
Be aware if you want a service for your Lugggie you will either box it up and send it to them for £150 minimum or a home service £225 with a 6 to 8 week wait! All fine and good - But - they want payment over the phone, up front when they book the service! Would you do this for a car service, washing machine service or anything else for that matter? Of course not! You have been warned! Who knows what they would charge once they get hold of the Lugggie before returning it. Very dodgy practice at best!

After a flight my Luggie Elite was very damaged by the baggage handlers.
I contacted Kathryn and she was fantastic.
She looked into all options for me , helped me diagnose issues, always got back to me and updated me immediately.
She is a true reflection of the high standard of customer Services in Luggie .
My scooter gave me a lifeline to get out n about.
Once my claim with airline is rectified I would definitely buy another luggie xx

I purchased a Luggie in July after…
I purchased a Luggie in July after Allan gave a very concise demonstration. He made it look very easy to assemble and promoted all the good points eg folding to fit into a car boot etc. However in reality, I am very disappointed with it. It was not as easy to fold as shown and my husband who has angina found it difficult to lift into the car boot. We left it on charge (you have to charge the battery whilst it is in the scooter so you can’t take the battery out and charge it. After being on a charge all night, the battery was not showing charged and apparently there is a knack to fitting the battery. It is not good on pavements if they are uneven. The brake lock which is behind the seat on the floor of the scooter is not reachable by the driver so I need another person with me to release and engage the brake. You must put the brake on before you sit on it as it moves and I almost fell as it moves. Luckily I had to grab hold of the car to steady myself. The tiller when adjusting it, keeps sliding down and the locks for it are so tight, they are almost impossible to tighten. My husband’s dexterity is put to the limit with this. My neighbour who used to own a mobility shop couldn’t tighten the locks either. I have used it three times since July due to the difficulties and safety issues and I feel that having paid £3000 + £82 for insurance, this is definitely not worth the money. The concept is good but it feels far too flimsy to rely on and I’m frightened that I fall from it. Inside shops is great but trying to assemble it beforehand is far too laborious and the notion wears off before I get to the shop.

From the initial phone call to arrange a home testing appointment to arrival of my mums elite model scooter the service has been excellent.
Scott who came to demonstrate the scooters arrived on time (a massive plus) very knowledgeable and not pushy with my mum. She had all the time in the world whilst trying different models.
The elite scooter easily fits into the boot of her car and is easy to lift as the boot takes the weight of the scooter when loading so she can manage it alone.
My mum had COPD and the elite luggie has opened up a whole new world for her.
Can't praise this scooter enough.

My Luggie is a godsend!
My Luggie is a godsend!
I cannot walk properly and holidays were difficult because I couldn’t keep up with my partner. We go regularly to Madeira, which is rather hilly in many parts.
That problem no longer exists - I can go anywhere with my partner now!
Highly recommended.

I was surprised to find out from the lady at the end of the phone line that I could fix the Luggie myself quite easily and she sent a video by email. It was in fact surprisingly easy taking no more than three minutes using an old fashioned screwdriver. Like it when a Luggie can be repaired so easily.

Regain your freedom with a luggie
My new luggie has opened a whole new experience instead of sitting in the car waiting whilst others visit the shops etc. I can now get in my luggie and experience the extra mobility I used to have and missed so much, now traveling around the city centre, parks, and restraints gives almost total freedom once more THANKS LUGGIE.
Also the service was excellent from a person called Sophie.

Initiall disappointment
Initiall disappointment. I can only use it for travel as our footpaths are far too uneven for the small, solid tyred,. wheels. Lack of any form of security is a concern.
FAR TOO EXPENSIVE AND THE "ESSENTIAL" EXTRAS, SHOPPING BAG, MIRRIRS, HORN, LIGHTS, INDICATORS ARE ALSO RIDICULOUSLY PRICED IF AVAILABLE.
I ALSO OWN A STERLING S700 FULLY FEATURED AND CHEAPER THAN THE LUGGIE AND WITH A 36 MILE RANNGE AND THE ABILITY TO CLIMB ANY HILL AND IF REQUIRED, TOW A TRAILER.

Pleased with my Scooter annual service .
The engineer was on time, friendly and helpful. He kept me informed on how long it would take. He cleared up after himself and left everything clean and tidy. He left my scooter looking shiny new and gave me a report of the work he’d done. I found this home service convenient to use as there was no lifting or packing For me to do. I was very pleased however still think that £145 for the service is a bit high.

Luggie, Home Demo
Had a free no obligation home demo of a Luggie Scooter on Friday the 7th of February, given by Shaun Sullivan. Shaun was pleasant and non pushy and answered all our questions (my wife was present), clearly and completely. He understood my needs and advised me on the best Luggie for me.
I used the luggie inside and outside and used car manual loading. As a result of the demo a purchase was made.
Shaun would have left without a purchase, there was no pressure selling at all and he showed that he cared about the person too.
I am glad I had the demo. A.C. Newbury, Berks.

My new Luggie is smooth running
My new Luggie is smooth running, turns well and nice and compact with one drawback that I can see.
Me being disabled with MS (hence the need for the scooter) and not able to use my legs at all well, getting on and off of the Luggie is difficult because of the bracket to secure the tiller on the footplate. It sticks up and is quite sharp. I have tried sitting first and lifting my legs into position (with difficulty) and I have tried to put my leg up first but whichever way I try to sit, it still gets in the way a lot and is sharp.
Please remember, these scooters are for people with mobility problems and I feel this one thing is a big problem in the middle of the footplate which really does make it very hard for me to get on and off!
Thank you .

Purchase Experience of the Luggie Super Mobility Scooter
Jonathan the Luggie Sales Representative, Sean the Luggie Demonstrator and Sophie the Sales Assistant were all very courteous, patient and attentive during the purchase stages of our Luggie. Overall their personal manner and communication skills were excellent. If the Luggie Super turns out to be as good at its job as they are, we will have made a great purchase. Thank you - an excellent Company to do business with. Rod and Caroline King. Reading
