Broken product, ignored by customer services

We bought 2 personalised water bottles recently, one unicorn and one Thomas the Tank. Our daughter’s bottle broke very soon after purchase with part of the plastic detaching from the closing mechanism around the straw meaning my daughter can no longer take it to preschool as it doesn’t close and leaks everywhere. She loved the bottle and is very upset that she can’t use it. We paid good money for the bottles and have emailed twice just to be totally ignored by the company. Not even an acknowledgment of the emails. Very disappointing, would never use this company again and unfortunately can not recommend to others.

I'm sorry to see your 1-star review and to hear that your daughter is upset — I completely understand how disappointing that must be.

Firstly, my sincere apologies for missing your emails. I’ve looked back and can see that your first message was sent outside of working hours on 16/06, which I unfortunately missed, and your second email arrived just earlier this week on 24/06. I hadn’t yet had a chance to respond before your review was posted.

With regard to your order, as outlined in my returns policy (https://www.madepersonally.co.uk/returns-refunds/), any issues with an item must be reported within 14 days of delivery. In this case, your first contact was made 24 days after the item was delivered, which unfortunately falls outside of that timeframe.

I’ve reviewed the photos you sent and can see that parts of the lid’s closing mechanism have broken away. Each bottle lid is removed and tested during the print process, so I can confirm it was in good working order prior to dispatch. The nature of the damage shown suggests breakage rather than a manufacturing fault.

As this falls outside the returns period and appears to be due to accidental damage, I’m afraid I’m not able to offer a replacement. I will also follow up via email to ensure this response reaches you directly.

I’m genuinely sorry this wasn’t the outcome you were hoping for, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

Personalised birthday t-shirt

I am so, so pleased with the personalised birthday t-shirt that I bought for my son from MadePersonally. The design was lovely and the quality of the product was great! The turnaround time was surprisingly quick too. Thanks so much for such a special birthday gift. I will definitely order from you again.

Exited Grandson…

The pyjamas ordered were of excellent quality, the material was lovely and soft . The picture and personalised message was done extremely well very clear.
The package arrived in good time with no problems.
My grandson was very excited and pleased with them.
I will be ordering again from Made Personally.

Misleading information

I see some reviews of personalised items being received the next day or within days.. not the case here! I ordered a personalised item 6th June and told ‘rest assured’ it was ready for print and dispatch on the 13th June and I’d receive a tracking email with Royal Mail.. 2 weeks later nothing at all no email no confirmation no order.. made contact again to be told it was ready print and dispatch AGAIN but I can have a refund? How can you refund a personalised item that’s ready for print and how can you mislead saying it was ready 2 weeks ago when it clearly wasn’t.. the one star is due to very misleading information on website - I get estimate dispatch dates can be few days give or take but I ordered this for delivery by 27th June for birthday present which the ‘estimate’ information provided should have been here by now and id ordered well within time limits..

I'm very sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience. I always aim to meet or exceed the estimated dispatch times shown at checkout, but as noted on the site and in my earlier messages, these are estimates — not guarantees — and occasionally delays can occur.

Your order was progressing through my production process, and I was in the process of replying to your follow-up message with an update when the payment dispute was opened. This action automatically put the transaction on hold and prevented me from dispatching the item.

As explained in our email exchange, your order was indeed in process — albeit slightly delayed, as previously communicated. Today was the first time you mentioned the required delivery date, and it’s a real shame, as there was still time to potentially resolve this for you. However, you requested to cancel the order, and during our correspondence, you confirmed your wish for a refund. Despite the personalised nature and production stage of the item, I respected your request and issued a full refund.

I am blown away with the service I have…

I am blown away with the service I have just received. Yesterday morning I placed an order for a Taylor Swift T-shirt that my daughter had last minute added it to her birthday list. 24 hrs later the T-shirt is on my doorstep. Amazing service and the T-shirt is perfect - great quality and fit. So pleased and will definitely use this company again. Thank you so much!

I'm sorry to see you have left a 1 star review. I was disappointed to see this with specific note around not receiving a response. Upon checking my emails it seems that the email you sent yesterday morning at 00:36 was the first contact you have made about your order. This was of course a Sunday, and a non working day. I also run the business by myself and whilst I try to reply same day where possible, I try not to response over a weekend as I'm spending time with my family.

With regards to your order your order had an estimate dispatch of 29/05/2025 - 03/06/2025. It seems you may have unfortunately misunderstood this as a delivery date. In addition, this is also an estimate not a guarantee. My apologies for the extended processing time past the estimate.

I have of course emailed you directly with this update also, if you have any queries please do reach back out.

Amazing products and great quality

I wish I’d of read the reviews BEFORE…

I wish I’d of read the reviews BEFORE placing my order as sadly all the negative ones have also rang true with my issues with this company. A lot of the reviews below have reference to lack of communication and dispatch times! Whilst I misunderstood the dispatch vs delivery times, the communication and attitude of the business owner is the real downfall here. Rude, argumentative and unhelpful would be best to described! What a shame in the current climate when we are encouraged to support local / small businesses, this is the outcome!

Unfortunately despite responding within minutes, out of hours in the early hours on a non working day going out of my way to try help - that you felt the need to write this review. Whilst you reference a small number of reviews, you'll also have had the opportunity to read all the other positive reviews far outweighing the negative. I'm sorry you continue to feel that I was rude, or argumentative. Unfortunately I needed to clearly facts of your order which, would only not arrive in time regrettably due to your misunderstanding of the information presented to you.

I do want to clarify a few points to avoid any misunderstanding for future customers:

📝 All items at are made to order and have a processing time before dispatch. This is clearly shown on each product page, in the basket, at checkout, and again in the order confirmation. The date shown is an estimated dispatch date, not a delivery date. I make every effort to display this information in multiple places to avoid confusion, and I’m always happy to answer questions if there’s any uncertainty.

Your order was placed on 19th May, with an estimated dispatch of 23rd–28th May. You contacted me on the 26th May (a bank holiday Monday), which was within this estimated timeframe. While I completely understand the frustration that comes from an order not arriving for when you hoped, it’s important to note that your order was still within the correct processing times and had not yet reached its estimated dispatch deadline. There was no prior expectation given your order estimate and the delivery service you selected that your order would arrive by the date you had hoped.

When you contacted me, I offered the option to amend your order design as a goodwill gesture, but as the order was already in the print process, I couldn’t cancel or refund at that stage.

I always aim to provide a helpful and transparent service and am sorry if my responses came across as anything but that. My goal is to ensure every customer has a positive experience, and I’m saddened of your interpretation of your experience.

Don’t use this company

Don’t use this company. Submitted an order on the 3rd of May and said it would be dispatched between 7/5- 9/5 but have heard absolutely nothing from them. I’ve sent them two emails asking where the item is and even to cancel my order and no reply.

Update- did receive a refund but I recommend if you would like a reply on your order to use trust pilot as I waited over two/three business days for a response but only took an hour when leaving a review. Still don’t recommend this company.

My 16 month old granddaughter loves…

My 16 month old granddaughter loves Shaun the Sheep. I could not find any other pyjamas, so thought she wouldn't notice the birthday part. When pyjamas arrived, the thought that I hadn't put the age was considered. The birthday part was gone with just the picture and Alba's name which was absolutely perfect. Thank you for the individual thought and care.

Absolutely Gorgeous T Shirt

Absolutely amazing company to buy from.
I bought 2 gorgeous personalised t shirts for my Grandaughter who loves Monster High! This company has it all. Choice, quality, great prices & customer service.
Definitely buy from here you will definitely be happy with your purchases :):)
Ive 4 grandchildren so will be back soon for my next purchase for one of my 6 year old granddaughters birthday gifts!

PS Customer service is second to none & is an actual person with this being a small personal business.

Complete con

Complete con. Made order which was due to be delivered via tracked package by April 16th. Still nothing by April 23rd. Tried contacting seller but have had no reply, now I have to try and get my money back via payment method. DO JOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!

Hi Richard - It's a real shame to see you have left a 1* review. As you know, you contacted for the first time since ordering on Saturday 19th over the bank holiday weekend. Having not yet had a reply by Wednesday (only the 2nd working day after your email) you sent a WhatsApp. Having recognised that you emailed over the bank holiday weekend, which I hadn't yet had the opportunity to respond to - I ensured to reply immediately, within 1 minute in fact, to provide you with an update.

Following this, you then submitted this review which unfortunately contains misinformation - as you have had a response. With regards to the dates, I'm afraid you have misunderstood the information you had been provided. Your order was not due to be delivered by the 16th nor was you ever informed this. Your order did have an estimate dispatch window, which as all items are made to order is an estimate - not a guarantee.

I provided an update to you about your order this morning - but following your review, deformation and note that you will be opening a chargeback - I have gone ahead and issued and cancelled the order and submitted a refund.

Improvement needed in customer service

Initially the customer service was great when I was enquiring about personalised pj’s as a Christmas gift, she went above and beyond to find what I needed and even made bespoke sets for me when she didn’t stick the sizes I needed. However, once the order was placed it all went downhill. I confirmed the orders via WhatsApp on 27th Nov after extensive conversations about what I wanted, and when she replied on 29th Nov I placed the order on the website as she instructed (what with it being bespoke). I doubled up on the detailed… both on the order itself, and on WhatsApp to make sure it was completely clear. I specified that I needed them before 21st December which she said would be fine, she said she aimed for 1-2 weeks. 2 weeks later on 13th December after hearing nothing I chased up the progress and was told they’d be printed the following week. I finally received them on 20th December, 3 weeks after ordering, just in time, but disappointingly the personalisation was missed off and obviously it was too late to do anything about it by that point. I messaged on WhatsApp immediately, but received no response, so sent a further message later that day but still received no response. I chased a response on 3rd Jan, still polite and even sent a ‘Happy New Year’ but again no reply! Chased again on 14th Jan with a complaint this time, and finally received a response in which she apologised but was full of excuses (a pattern I’m noticing when she replies to negative reviews!). I replied again on 23rd Jan saying that I understand she’s running the business alone and it’s a busy time of year, but regardless of that it is a business she’s running and if an order is incorrect it ought to be compensated in some way, I said I didn’t expect a full refund as I like to support small businesses but a gesture like a refund of shipping costs or a discount off of the item would be a nice gesture, but guess what… I received no reply!!! So all in all, great customer service prior to ordering, and awful customer service when something goes wrong, and this is, in my opinion, when you really see the true colours of a business… things will sometimes goes wrong, people make mistakes, it’s how those mistakes are dealt with that matters and unfortunately it seems they’re not dealt with well at the moment. I’m not saying I wouldn’t order again, the products are great and I like to support small businesses, but my expectations of the customer service would be low unfortunately.

Outstanding and Personal 50th Birthday Cruise T-Shirts

50th Birthday t-shirts for a group of 9 people, age ranges from 8 to 53 yrs of age. Each t-shirts slightly unique to each person, all carefully adapted and printed in the highest quality with perfect attention to detail. Victoria was outstanding in her customer service and engagement, designs altered, updated and delivered above and beyond my expectations. All the t-shirts were worn with pride and stood out both in quality and their unique designs.
