Horrible. Paid for a booking in a “no other pets” home. Sitter cancelled first meet and greet before cancellation policy. At meet and greet there was another sick dog there with runny dog poo everywhere possibly contagious. They would not give me a refund.

MadPaws has reliable personnel who know how to respond to problems. In my experience, I can get any issue resolved quickly and easily by expressing the issue that has arisen. When i had been overbilled for dog walking, I simply inquired and was reimbursed immediately.

REMINDER - you can buy positive reviews but can't delete genuine negative ones.
Mad Paws "vetting" consists of confirming a sitter has a valid emails address and phone number (not actually vetting) and if you lodged a complaint and receive a refund you cannot leave a review on the site.
I engaged a well reviewed pet sitter promoted on the Mad Paws website. The sitter and I met and discussed requirements for over an hour. I engaged the sitter to look out for an elderly tripawed cat who has been showing signs of separation anxiety when I'm away overnight. She was tasked with keeping me updated as to how the cat was coping and to comfort the her should she become distressed. Where she was not able to comfort her, the sitter was supposed to contact me to advise this, anytime, day or night. Distressingly, this did not occur. Outdoor security cameras picked up my distressed cat pacing and crying for hours before I came home early and the sitter said my cat had been fine except for when the sitter moved her car. When I confronted the sitter she blocked me and told me she would refund what I had paid for the booking, which she did so. Turns out once a booking has been refunded there is no way of leaving a review warning others. Mad Paws has confirmed this to be case and stated that a refund is a sign of goodwill, not admission of wrongdoing. Which is rubbish. Mad Paws had me trawl through hours of distressing footage to demonstrate what happened. I sent all the messages showing that the sitter lied outright about the condition of my cat and what had occurred. Mad Paws repeatedly ignored my complaint and evidence. A month later they said they weren't going to take action or respond to any further attempts at contact. My cat was ill for over a week after this episode. I have been back and forth with Mad Paws half a dozen times over the last month and they say that because she was well reviewed previously that they will "flag her account" and "keep an eye on future bookings" to make sure this doesn't occur again. Basically, she's not been caught out before (I myself gave her 5 stars after the first booking) and as long as she's not caught out again then she'll be fine and able to torment other people and their pets. Do not trust this company, they do not vet their sitters and when they are told about sitters behaving callously and not performing their duties they ignore the concerns, despite video and messaging evidence.
UPDATE - Mad Paws has now requested I provide additional information to confirm my review is genuine. This keeps getting more absurd, who would go to the trouble of writing such a detailed review across multiple platforms if it was not true? They are intent on not taking responsibility for their part in this debacle.
