I was looking for a PDF invoice extension for Magento 2, and Mageplaza has the best one after a very long research, after paying for it I wasn't disappointed at all, the only downside is you have to pay for updates after one year, which after thinking about it I think it's fair to keep maintaining the extension and pay for their expenses.

Technical support just walked away from an issue using Sage Pay where money was being taken and no orders created - causing £1000's worth of errors. I use Mageplaza extension for quite some time. I like them because Mageplaza can guarantee compatibility. Four out of five work out of the box. For the other customization is done by them at no extra charge.
Sometimes it can take a while before a ticket has been solved, but they always fixed any issue. I recommend their extensions.
