It is a racket which preys on thelderly and vulnerable…

It is a racket which preys on the elderly. They initially promise you a chance to win $20000 but initially it only costs say $5 to but a piece of useless junk and next time they say you are still in the running but now you have to pay $10 and this goes up to currently $50 and so on ad infinitum.

They are grubs and it gets worse. The various state consumer protection bodies do very little except for SA which takes a mild interest. The other states should be closed down as they allow this nonsense to go on under their noses and they do nothing.

Magnamail should be closed down as a pernicious dishonest racket.

They cannot address parcels

They cannot address parcels. We had a parcel addressed to a road without a number. The road is very long. Its common business practice to address parcels correctly. We had called the company 2x’s to advise them bit they did nothing in spite of assuring that they would rectify. Eventually australia post called to ask the correct delivery address. Disgusting service.

Ceasing mailouts

I have requested 3 times to cease mailouts. Still receiving Magnamail catalogues with winner notifications. Was first told it will take a few months to stop, now am being told that the information is off mailing list but the information is still able to be shared to 3rd persons. I stated that it is incorrect cos the catalogue is specifically from magnamail not a 3rd person company. Do not ever let your elderly person get involved with this company because you will get mail endlessly from them and cop bad customer service.

Elderly mum lied to

My mum (73) has been waiting to receive $250,000 which she was told she won a year ago. She lives in hope but after reading others’ experiences I think she is coming round to the idea that magnamail is a scam

Avoid getting on their database

Avoid getting on their database, it's impossible to get off it again. They are a shameless bunch who prey on the elderly and gullible. My father in law (88) remains convinced that he has won $20,000 and it will arrive any time, and continues to order cheap rubbish that he doesn't need. Requesting the cessation of the mailouts is pointless, they take no notice.
Shame on you, Magnamail.

This site is dodgy

This site is dodgy.

I ordered and then tried to call, email etc. Then 2 hours after the order was delivered replied to my email. “Sorry already delivered...” was the reply.

On top of this. They sent an invoice stating it needed to be paid in order to keep the product??

Stay away.

Magnamail needs to respect requests for no mail

Magnamail is an Australian owned company that advertises homeware products via pamphlets in newspapers. My mother ordered a few things over ten years ago and she's been the recipient of unsolicited, advertising ever since. It has been impossible to stop this unwanted mail - returning it doesn't work. I started ringing Magnamail in July 2020, requesting all mail to cease. Yes, I was told, this would be done, but there may be one or two more mailouts 'in the system' that they couldn't stop. I rang again in November; same answer. And again early this year; the same. I rang today, and reached a very pleasant customer service person who told me the same. I refuted this and said their system was poor and disrepectful to customers, and that it shouldn't taken ten months. I asked why my mother's name was even on the database - rather disengenious as I had not thought to request it being totally removed (assumed it had). I've now requested it to be totally deleted. This requets has apparently needed to go to a 'higher level' for a supervisor to deal wtih. How ridiculous. Apart from letterbox spam, there's the environmental impact and cost of sending stuff that goes directly into the bin. Magnamail can do better. They're a large company and are not accountable or customer-service orientated enough, in my opinion.

Magnamail OK if you use your brains.

I ordered four or five items, they arrived safely and were exactly as stated. However, Magnamail aims at maximising its sales, not serving its customers (they all do this, that’s capitalism). It can give the wrong impression quite deliberately, as long as it doesn’t actually lie. It’s up to us to read the blurb very carefully. ( ‘Said to have healing properties’ means a guy in the office thought it helped him, not that it’s had any scientific testing whatsoever). If you’re looking for a microwave egg cooker, don’t just trust the picture. Look for words that say you can safely use it in a microwave. Etc, etc. we have to use our brains and not expect them to be trustworthy. And all the prizes are cheap junk that will end up in landfill, except the $20 000, I suppose.

It is on the nose because even if I do not send in an order, the next bit of mail sends me the next order spiel and 'you have won one of these products' with the mail really unreliable with the covid, your mail may take another week to arrive - well outside the 2days you are given to return your order.
I wrote to them to take me off their list - but guess what!
