I deleted items to trash but says it will delete from ALL devices - I already pay for one drive - does it mean that as well - HATEFUL - i don,t have time for this - theres no one to ask - we have lost control - is this AI - its made me very upset I don't have several hours to try and sort it out with conflicting and inaccurate advice everywhere
Awful
Awful. Since my last review it has been throwing me out first attempt when I try to log in, and even not letting me log out either when I do log in. Also comes up with error 400 saying do not try again, or saying something is broken but they don't know what it is. It seems to have happened after an update. I have submitted this problem to them, but of course, they don't bother. And, when I do log in, I keep getting them asking me for an alternative email (which they already have) to confirm just in case. And, they keep asking for my phone number. Ha ha, as if I would trust them with my phone number so they could sell it to scammers. The worst part of all this is, I am using Google Chrome, but when I use Firefox it is fine. So that is a double whammy. Their own browser is causing a problem with their own email. Compnay is too big for their boots and don't care about customer service.
One star for tonight
One star for tonight, otherwise five everyday. Having a problems setting up a new email, I am not sure if gmail is the problem or ulefone my phone. To take a photo to set up an email account. It’s now 11.43pm, I have been online all night, trying to get things done, since 6pm. I could of watched a film or read a book. If you rely on these services for work, how reliable are they to work with, to run a business.
Why do Google automatically assume…
Why do Google automatically assume every single person will want a manage subscription box? Also assume everyone has a cluttered in box? My inbox is never cluttered and I never use a manage subscription box but all my subscriptions are going in there it is extremely annoying. I never wanted my subscriptions to go into that box however I don’t have a choice. It looks like I will have to change emails. Just to get my emails sorted the way I want them sorted.

Having used Yahoo mail for some years I switched to Gmail about a year or more ago, but still find it confusing and now I'm thinking of switching back to Yahoo for simplicity, clarity and storage even if it conflicts a little with Android

Gmail is incredibly frustrating to work with, you cannot unclutter your inbox by moving thing out to other folders.

You cannot block email addresses
You cannot block email addresses. Doing so just moves them to spam, but you still receive the annoying spammy rubbish which you have to sort through in case something useful is filtered into spam. Utterly pointless function.
It would be zero stars if possible
It would be zero stars if possible. Never start with gmail. If you ever anticipate having to delete or organize emails in any way, get yourself a decent email provider (like OE Classic) from the get go. My mom was using gmail and when I took over her care, I thought she wouldn't live that long, so I kept gmail for her stuff. But she lived over 10 more years. Ten years of gmail hell. If only I had known.
Adverts inserted between the emails in…
Adverts inserted between the emails in my Gmail inbox on phone.
This started just a few days ago. I went to check Gmail on my Samsung phone, and there, between genuine emails, they have started placing ads! Not email ads, they are Promotions in between the emails listings.
Where did this come from???? Is there no escape from the deluge of ads we have to face now?
Take note Google, you've gone too far this time! You do not need this income.
Last year you made a $132bn profit, that's a 32% NEW profit. GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY.
It has now become my policy to leave negative reviews for any company from whom I receive unsolicited ads, and not to do any business with them. Your customers placing ads will not like the reviews they are going to get from your greed.
Gmail (Google mail) disappointed.
Gmail (Google mail) on a slippery slope.
I have used Gmail for many years without hesitation. Recently last year, I like many others with this public listed company had come to know of it's market manipulation and monopoly, unfair play.
I don't like how they, or maybe their owners Google/Alphabet were forcing smartphone manufacturers to pre install Google as a manufactured customer "choice" on new handsets.
I had read journalists writing about unfair market practices and it truly shocked me.
I have reduced as much as I can, my reliance on Gmail and prefer outlook, or proton mail, both also Free. Other providers are also available.
I removed the "ask Google" tab on my phone, as I believe Customers should be able to choose their search engine and email provider etc.
I then received an email after their court hearing telling me how much space in my Google drive I had used up???!
Why? This should not be a concern as it's nowhere near the limit, and especially as they had never wrote to me about this before! Suspicious. What a company hey!
Skewed, manipulative, uncompetitive in the market, and a power house like Google, let me down.
I don't enjoy using it's services, & have researched many an option elsewhere. For example; mail.com and outlook give free email usage with storage space for general use.
Having worked myself in the UK for big white chip clients, listed on the FTSE, for several years, Google's reliance on bullying tactics drove me away from them.
It's a shame isn't it, even reading this back to myself typing it, as I recall when they were getting going & all the hype around Americas silicon valley. ... The truth is, there are better and just as good alternatives elsewhere. I chose to avoid their dominance, Google just isn't for me.
So cheer up; look at free ECOSIA and it's environmental work, &/or Proton mail, outlook, and many others to name a few.
I think I'll give this one a pass.
So difficult to negotiate
So difficult to negotiate. Far from user friendly. Wish I’d gone to Outlook.
A stinky service
I truly loathe & detest gmail! I have NO doubt they sure ALL data for $ I often lose important emails because I am FLOODED with advertising! When a decent alternative arrives, I’ll be away from Gmail asap! 😡🤢🤮🤬
The 'Filter messages' does NOT work it…
The 'Filter messages' does NOT work it is totally useless. Even with the number of times I have tried to 'filter' messages from Adobe telling me about their rubbish products, I still get emails from them in my spam folder even though I have requested not to send it to spam but delete immediately

Pathetic that i cant put a signature in without a bunch of screwing around...try this, try that and it all still doesnt workdo better gmail. I am paying to use it after all. fix your signature issue
I would give less than one if possible
I would give less than one if possible. I am fed up with emails in inbox just disappearing. There is no contact for gmail as they know what a useless company they are and would spend 24/7 just answering complaints.
