Absolutely atrocious. Not only did the cake not arrive on the intended delivery date but the cake was disgusting and the package along with the balloon and card came shaking about in a giant box with barely any protection. Avoid this business at all costs.

I've updated my review following excellent customer service. The original order was disappointing and did not match expectations, but after raising my concerns, the team responded quickly and arranged a replacement. My husband loved his birthday surprise of the two chocolate and vanilla cakes. I would normally have baked him a cake but as we were going away the following day I thought I would give Mailbakes a try. It didn’t disappoint. Cakes were moist and very yummy.

First delivery was late (ok maybe royal mail), then wrong cake sent. Contacted them, they apologised and said the right cake will be resent immediately. One week later still no cake! Contacted them said they would give me a refund and next day delivery on the cake. 5 days later STILL NO CAKE! Would not use again, easier to buy cake from a cake shop and cheaper.

NOT letterbox cake!
The whole point of this business is that they can fit through the letterbox so can be delivered even if there is no one in - so WHY DOES IT NEED A SIGNATURE on delivery???
I ordered a cake 4 days ago and it still hasn't been delivered because my friend works during the day!!! I might as well have just set fire to £20 No reply from the company either. Very frustrating indeed...
UPDATE: I hae changed my stars to a 3 because they have been in touch and are sending a replacement out. They told me that the original order wasn't actually a "letterbox size" but there wasn't any notification about that so I am still giving a 3 out of 5. The cake hasn't actually arrived yet so I may update again after that...

Delivered on time which was great
Delivered on time which was great. The downside is the cakes do not just lift off the cardboard as shown in videos. After removing the cling film with scissors the cake had to be prized off the cardboard with a cake slice but sadly it didn’t remove easily. For that reason I wouldn’t buy again. Sorry

Wouldn’t purchase again!
Wouldn’t purchase again. I brought for my 2 friends for helping me whilst I recovered from surgery. They said the sponge was nice but the buttercream was inedible. Was thin and runny with a horrible oily texture which coated the mouth. Really disappointed and embarrassing for me as I gifted them.
