  1. Mental Health Services

Written by the company

Think of it as a gentle, scientifically grounded sanctuary for your brain. It is an uplifting, low-pressure environment designed to help you maintain your mental health baseline, keep your self-management strategies on track, and stimulate positive neuroplasticity. We combine short bursts of quiet, restful body-doubling with fortnightly, solution-focused community check-ins. As a solution-focused psychotherapist & clinical hypnotherapist (over at online-psychotherapist.com), my work has always been rooted in helping people navigate the complex emotional landscape of living with chronic illness. Through my practice, as well as my webinars and resources for the Hypermobility Syndromes Association (HMSA) and other charities, I have spent years teaching people how to retrain their brains, manage flare ups, and build a toolkit for sustainable mental health. But over time, I noticed a missing piece in the chronic illness journey. When people finish active therapy with me, they leave with fantastic self-management strategies. However, maintaining those strategies alone, while navigating the isolation, brain fog, and unpredictable pain and fatigue of a long-term condition, it can be incredibly hard. Worse, our society tells us that "accountability" and "body-doubling" are only for pushing through chores, cleaning, or work. Great for focusing those beautiful neurospicy brains; however, for a brain wired by chronic illness, that pressure can trigger a stress response, working against the very neuroplasticity we need for healing. I created Maintained Mind because I wanted to build a bridge. This space was born out of a desire to provide a gentle, ongoing safety net for former clients, as well as fellow spoonies, disabled and chronic illness folk. It's a place where we take the pressure entirely off. By swapping "productivity" for restful tasks such as crafting, physio, or taking a guilt-free nap together, and gathering for solution-focused check-ins, we keep our brains on track. Not through force, but through community, neuroscience, and compassion.

A mind boost created with heart

Having known Kim for about 6 yrs I’ve experienced the difference her sessions made to my way of thinking and doing. Like anything to do with the mind there are times when we need refreshers and boosts. Maintained Mind is that boost. Its sessions and resources help us connect to others and reconnect to learned skills and continue to improve our life skills and mental health. It’s such a beautifully created package to help the mind, created from the heart! Thank you Kim

Great brain maintenance toolkit

I have stayed in touch with Kim since being an active client in 2021-2. Back then I started as a slight sceptic but am totally sold on her techniques and have recommended her to others by word of mouth over the years. Despite all the self-management strategies I have learned from Kim and others, there are still tough times and, unfortunately, it is when you are at your lowest that you find it hardest to implement all the good stuff. I had no hesitation in subscribing to Maintained Mind and am trying out the different features. It will collect together all the useful stuff, so when I need it, it will all be on hand.
