Loved them until I didn't.
I love(d) Makers Cabinet. Bought several products, many times over, as gifts for friends and colleagues and I had been coveting having the Laslo for myself and finally made the budget to get it. Several features of the pen quit working within weeks. Since Makers Cabinet IS all about their engineering, I was incredibly disappointed. The effort to return and get a refund, too, has not been a pleasant one—including an excuse about their US website being gone now and blah, blah, blah. There must be something happening with them. Buyers beware.

This product while well-made is just terrible. I’ve spent hours with it and it quite honestly simply does not work. You don’t do refunds and I suspect it’s because you know you’re ripping people off. I’m telling everyone who is considering the Høvel to buy literally anything else.

We’d be more than happy to share this with you. As you can see from our other Trustpilot reviews, we have some very satisfied customers and we are disappointed you have had such trouble with the Høvel and hope we can rectify this problem.
In regards to a refund, you may have missed the information but our refund policy states that we may not accept products that are damaged or tampered with. This does not mean that we will flat out refuse a refund; depending on the circumstances, it’s certainly an option we can discuss further. We haven’t seen a support message come through with you yet, but we will open a ticket to arrange a solution for you in regards to your problems with the Høvel.

Top quality.
I’m an Architect and I use mechanical pencils daily. I wanted something to get me back into using the collection of ordinary pencils I own, so I purchased the Ferrule. Looks fantastic, very well machined and feels very solid. A quality pencil holder that will last a lifetime.

Order was sent out incomplete! Contacted Makers Cabinet and they couldn't be more helpful. Refunded my postage charged and resent erasers that were missing from original order. The only problem was that it took Royal Mail over a week to get to me on a 48hr delivery!

Excellent quality!
I was able to make my purchase easily. The website is user friendly and easy to navigate. My items were shipped quickly and in a timely manner. All items were well packaged and received in perfect condition. I now have the Hovel, the Ferrule and the Lazlo with all the accessories that go with each item. They are considered purchases but the quality is excellent. I will continue to buy from this company as they grow.

I love the product (Iris)
I love the product (Iris), just a bit annoyed that it was not perfect (one mini dent on the front). Given that I had to pay some chf 40 in taxes, I did not return it.
On the other hand, not sure that the cost of the pouch is justified, nor that the pouch is useful. The box in which the product comes is perfect.
