I’m very disappointed with my experience with MakesYouFluent.
I signed up after seeing an Instagram advertisement for a one-month subscription at $26.99. However, I was charged $26.99 and $53.98 in the same month, and then another $53.98 the following month. These charges were unexpected and not clearly explained.
When I contacted customer support, they initially refused to cancel my subscription and instead offered me a discount on future renewals. It took multiple messages and time before my account was finally canceled.
They also stated that they would issue a refund, but as of now, I still have not received it.
Overall, the process has been frustrating, slow, and lacking transparency. I would strongly advise others to be very careful and review all billing terms before subscribing.

I like the idea of a virtual teacher. Some issues:
The speech does not align with the movement of the AI figure.
The pronouncing valuation gets stuck into an endless loop. I think after 25 repetitions it is time to move on - as the comments was “Not bad”! So that module doesn’t work
Having said that I really liked some of the other modules. I liked the topics and the method of teaching. Great for practicing real life situations.
Bottom line - a lot of potential - needs some refinement.

Billed after canceling. Submitted written request to cancel renewal of subscription and received confirmation from customer service that I would not be billed again. Charged this morning for $74.98. Not happy at all.

It is very to use and has many aspects of learning a Foreign language: Sentences, verbs, conversions, pronunciations, etc

This is a complete app for practicing vocabulary, speaking, and grammar. On the downside, the AI and the app itself are quite slow. Additionally, some activities feel repetitive because the AI fails to complete the task even after multiple repetitions. Despite this, it’s a good tool for English learners.

There is mostly only good things to say about the app and the learning abilities, that means the different ways with pronouns, finding the correct word, your own sentence writing and so on. However it could have been five stars if it wasn't for the in my view stupid and nagging process of having to click No thanks five times on different options when one wanted to pay for a subscription. All those options could have been listed on the same page and if the buyer don't want any or want one, a single click and moving on to the page for paying options. Time to update that to a smarter version.

I have already paid twice for this and have not been able to start

This is a great app, but when just getting into learning the language with the AI TEACHER it would be great to have a bit more than just a few responses as I’m going to say as there are a lot of words to learn. What I have learned already would have been nice to expand each lesson just a bit as I was looking for more
In each category being offered. I know we don’t want to overwhelm ourselves but a but more would not hurt with the categories
Also, I will keep giving 4 stars as there is always room for improvement, but 4 stars to me is still a 100% application

THe lessons were not fluid. I guess I expected to have more of a conversation rather than repeat after me and determine if it sounded OK. I expected to get feed back after speaking a sentence to hear " it would be better to say it this way....."
THe lips of the AI people did not match the words they were saying, so when you are looking to improve your pronunciation looking at the mouth and lips will not help at all.

pushy on all the other options. Why not just include it under one thing.

It is too much offer at the begging.
I am able to understand if the offer is really important.
I would suggest you up grade the offers latter during the curse

You are trying to upsell everything I thought I was getting with my plan without all those extra charges. You are coming on with all these now or never offers up front before I know what I want. It makes me very concerned about your need to upsell right now and I don't like it at all!!!

The process of enrolling was very easy and well explained. However the add ons weren't expected. I'll go on without them and if i'm not satisfied I'll find another app to work with.

Straight forward explanation describing the classes.

The interactive practice with the AI character is by far and away most useful part of the product. Exercises aside from that do not seem to be tailored to jive with the level of language that the user/customer inputs as applicable for his/her learning; some exercises are not built out at all. The interactive part is sticky on working in dialogue mode, conversation; prefers to halt the progression calling for multiple repetitions. Somewhat frustrating. So keep working out the quirks.

SCAM. Took $44 and gave zero access. No login, no app, just a redirect to the App Store. Pure fraud.
My response to the company’s request:
I am providing additional details of my experience as requested.
I was looking for an English learning program specifically for my laptop (Windows). Since I am based in Belarus, I was glad to find a service that seemed to accept my payment. I chose a 6-month subscription as it looked like a good deal. The payment was made using my Visa card via a web browser on my laptop.
Immediately after the payment was processed, the website started showing aggressive upsell offers: "Add another language for $14.99", "Grammar course for $9.99", and at least three more. This was very suspicious and alarming.
After I declined all additional offers, I was asked to create a login and password. I felt relieved, thinking I was finally about to start my lessons. However, instead of a web-based platform, I was redirected to the Apple App Store!
None of the buttons there worked on my laptop. I do not own an iPhone or an iPad. At no point during the purchase was it stated that this is a mobile-only app. A customer might have limited hand mobility, poor eyesight, or simply prefer a laptop over a smartphone (or even use a basic button phone). I bought a program for my laptop, but I was deceived.
Order ID: 1341046
I am extremely disappointed and I demand a full refund as the service provided does not match the device it was sold on.
