Lovely resort and location. Village with tavernas and shops a short walk away is a huge bonus. Transfer seamless, resort staff brilliant. Tennis courts desperately need updating. Hotel food very avera... See more

Concern over water hygiene main pool
We think the family swimming pool was not sufficiently chlorinated as there was abundant algae, moss growth on steps, under edge lip & within grating. Although it was swept by robot each evening the pool needs regular scrubbing to remove alage in warm conditions.
The best holiday
In a nutshell it’s the staff who make this holiday superb - every single member of staff we encountered did their utmost to make residents holidays memorable. Special call out to George, Chris in entertainment and Lucas in indie club. The accommodation is basic but clean, the extras are overpriced (especially water) but the activities and staff make it the best holiday ever. Thank you MW staff - we just keep coming back! xx
good resort
good resort, ideal location.
Lousy local town nearby Foca.
Extortionate bar prices at hotel, went to local corner shop to stock up fridge. Everybody moaned and declined to buy drinks there, went into local town.
You must buy a sufficient stock of spares for the sailing boats, no good having boats awaiting parts...
Wife completed your questionnaire, however not collected on coach, by Turkish MW rep.
Great set up
Great set up, lots of activities (or just laze). Biggest positive was brilliant kids club - both girls (7 & 10) really enjoyed it and were able to, safely, do things with much more independence than they can when at home. Fantastic trip
Our first Mark Warner holiday, we'll be back!
Our first Mark Warner holiday, and we'll be back! My teenage son made lots of friends and had a great time. Which made it even better for the grown ups. So we got to paddle board before breakfast, do lots of classes, play games, gym, stretch, yoga......eat and drink.... perfect!
The 'Mark Warner' experience
The 'Mark Warner' experience was such a pleasure. You just rock up and take a boat out, join a bike tour, or knock some tennis balls around whenever you want. No need to book, pay, or stress about the kids changing their minds after five minutes. The food was great, the staff lovely and the sunshine plentiful.
Fab break
Fab break, kids activities amazing, hardly saw my son. Great location too, 15 minute walk from the village.
Amazing staff
Not the best Mark warner resort
We have been on numerous Mark Warner holidays before and found this one a little disappointing. Not terrible but not as good as others. In particular the food. The quality was ok but it was a bit of a random selection. Could have done with some seafood or a theme night.
The beach is across a (very quiet) road so felt quite detached. There were a lot of Jet2 holiday makers there on an all inclusive package who had paid condiserably less then MW guests.
We went to Phokaia in October and it was a much nicer resort with much better food.
The best thing about this resort was its close proximity (10 min walk) to a lovely village with numerous restaurants lining the seafront. We chose to eat there a few times instead of the MW buffet even though we had paid for HB. It was very cheap to eat out.
The accommodation was nice and very spacious but if you book in the village area, it is on the side of a hill so a steep walk up the stairs when its 35 degrees.
Would use MW again but wouldn't come back here
Brilliantly organised break in the sun
Brilliantly organised break in the sun, with masses of sports to choose from, or none, great company and fab food.
Three stars for the following reasons…
Three stars for the following reasons which I don’t think justify the overall cost
- Location - just ‘okay’ not the most affluent or aesthetic area and the beach was not as nice as I had expected- dirty and site positioned away from the nice parts up the beach by Amos. Would be easy to trawl the beach surely?
- Sports and activities - loved the variety of activities and things to do but couple of times the paddle boards were stopped due to being a bit windy- am from Devon here and we get out in worse!
- Kids cycling for over 13’s only- what???
- Accommodation was nice although the site overall looked like it had been hastily constructed in the past- not huge deal breakers but have been fortunate enough to compare with other resorts in Asia where the standards are impeccable
Kids had fun, overall great but wouldn’t go back.
Fantastic resort and fantastic staff
Fantastic resort and fantastic staff.
The resort is very close to a lovely village with many bars and restaurants.
The MW experience did not disappoint. My kids were in Indy club, which they loved. There’s a great variety of activities. Loved the paddle tennis, Gary was a great instructor. I also had a refresher lesson on a windsurfer with Ross who was very patient. Andreas at the beach bar makes awesome cocktails (try the mojitos!).food was overall great for a buffet restaurant. Good variety and the menu changed each night. We were in the main hotel and the rooms were spacious and the showers powerful. The accommodation up the hill looked lovely but trickier to pop back during the day.
Only negative (but didn’t generally bother me) was that this is a very windy place, so not great for sailing/ windsurfing unless you’re experienced. I actually welcomed the wind as it helped with the heat! Would definitely recommend!
Also didn’t love the airline that MW used (enter air). Planes seemed very old and staff were a bit rude, but it didn’t ruin the holiday!
Please note that this isn’t a MW exclusive resort but I actually found that refreshing!
Great holiday
Great facilities, excellent kids club, wonderful staff
Good food and entertainment
Brilliant pool
Lovely local village with awesome choices of bars and restaurants
Superb resort in every single way! Could not have had a better week. Thanks Leah and the MW Team!
Disastrous return journey
Had a wonderful week in Phokia, however it was spoilt by the return journey. The flight was cancelled because the plane had issues with the engine - I can fully accept that and understand why we couldnt fly. However, we were all completely abandoned by Mark Warner at the airport, until we arrived at the airport the following afternoon. I was travelling on my own and at no point did anyone check passenger details to ensure we were all in the airport before being shipped off to hotels overnight. I could so easily have lost the other passengers and no one would have known. The admin of getting us to hotels overnight was chaotic and we were left with no info of when we would be travelling home the following day until an email early the following morning. Thankfully other passengers shared this info with me or I would not have known when the revised return flight was. This experience has totally ruined my view of Mark Warner and I won't be travelling with them again.
Wonderful resort and staff
The staff at the resort were all fantastic, so helpful! The food was very good indeed, lots of variety over the two weeks. Great facilities and teenager entertainment. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
Another belter from MW
This is our fourth MW holiday and they just keep getting better! Would highly recommend Paleros for the following reasons:
- Lovely, resort and a great location
- Very short airport transfer
- Paleros town is close by and gorgeous if you do want a change of scene
- The local staff are delightful!
- The MW team are as brilliant as ever
For the purposes of full honesty, here are things that are not completely brilliant, but still totally fine!
- The scuba diving was lovely, but limited. Don't expect multiple dives or types of dives.
- The Taverna (optional lunch etc) is very relaxed. The food is fantastic, but it comes out when it's ready. That was fine for us but could frustrate some people.
- You have to cross a (tiny, quiet) road to get to the beach. Again, absolutely fine from our POV but good to know in advance.
- The beach is small and the water is shallow. Great for small kids but not if you want to have a big swim. HOWEVER, you can walk about 5 minutes to get to a bigger, public, beach with amazing water, sand and an inflatable obstacle course - and a lovely restaurant.
Very nice people and very nice place
Very nice people and very nice place. Well run and well managed. Manager very good at his his job, and morale of the staff reflects that. Minor criticism would be Greek drains and bathroom. I banged my head on shower door rail a few times being tall and stupid!, and smell of drains was typical. Building work would be extensive to make drains fall faster. In sailing boats, I banged my head with boom quite badly on the last day, and I had commented on the lack of a windex at the top of the mast. When running with the wind coming from behind the boat with sail out wide, the wind changed and I didn't spot it in time leading to the accident. Why not have a check list when sending out a boat with client instructions (say seven key points - titled 'avoid head and other injuries' which client has to tick and sign on a clipboard. Can you put a windex on every boat? That's how I've always sailed before. Don't worry about it otherwise as it was mostly my fault. The kids had a great time - Sean aged twelve commenting on the feeling of freedom.
Wonderful holiday with Mark Warner at…
Wonderful holiday with Mark Warner at Lemnos. Warm family vibe in its own version of Greek village life. Ben and Jorgia were lovely tennis hosts, creating a supportive and fun environment for guests young and old. One star knocked off for the WiFi access, which didn’t impress the teen element. The humans and the sunsets, however, were exemplary. The Greek staff were wonderful.
