These padlocks should be great ,they are built heavily and look substantial but alas after a year or so of use the hasps jam when opened and then come away from body all together,I have had this experience with three of these locks.

I had 2 of these Master combination locks on my storage units, they were working fine, I use the same code on all my combination locks, then one day they wouldn't open. I tried and tried, but they wouldn't open, they were only a few months old, had to pay to get them cut off. Wouldn't recommended.

I bought a lock for my locker at work. It got stuck even though I had the right combo in. They had to cut it off. I paid like $15 for 2 days use.

I placed an order in November 2024. They said there would be a delay between 4 and 6 weeks. In January 2025, they said my order would be in my hands the third week of March. In March, they said my order would be in my hands the third week of April. Guess what? Today, they called me to give me the news that my locks would be in my hands the third week of May. This is very unprofessional customer service. We are waiting for those locks to comply with some policies in our company, and these people are irresponsible.

Had two Masters combination locks that required cutting off as combination would not work. I puchased a pack of three and all had the same combination. Contacted Masters support and the silence is deafing yet to recieve a reply so not happy.
After looking at reviews on the web I can see it is a common fault and their customer support non existant.
As a result no more Masters locks for me and will advise everyone else of thei8r crap support

Absolutely garbage it’s been on my garage door for 2 weeks used 3-4 times now the combination won’t unlock this is a pathetic manufacturer of locks who could not careless for customers they should not be allowed to sell RUBBISH like this I will now have to carefully use a angled grinder to cut it off and throw it in the bin where it belongs DO NOT BUY MASTERLOCK RUBBISH YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

After reading dozens upon dozens of "Master" combination padlock reviews, I will not be purchasing any ever again. I visited my local branch of Tesco's on Teesside today (where I normally buy these locks), to replace one that I had to snip off my bike, but they had none on stock so I couldn't. Fortunately I decided to read reviews on the Trustpilot site and think I got a lucky escape. The amount of dissatisfied customers is astounding.

I bought a Masterlock knowing it’s supposed to be a reliable brand and it is. My complaint as a graphic designer is the size of type in the multi-lingual instruction manual. It must be 2points or so. Absolutely useless unless you have a magnifying glass - or maybe a microscope!

I received the incorrect locks and returned so I returned them over 60 days ago and still have not got my money back. They said up to 45 days. On day 47 I reach out and they said they would process it in 3-5 days. Refund service SUCKS!!!!!

This is my 4th purchase of a cable bike lock v 8122d where the 0000 opens amd then i set my code, check it amd it worls and then never again. Worst moat frustrating product.

I could not get my 646t padlock to work (couldn't reset the combination). I called US customer service and after a short wait, someone answered and walked me through how to do it. Her explanation was a little clearer than the written instructions and it worked. I was on the phone for less than 10 minutes, including wait time. So my review would have been a 1 but customer service saved the day,

In the past few years I've bought four Master locks. Two were cable locks (identical) and the other two were standard hook style rotary combination locks. Both cable locks were absolutely a joke. Both had the same fault -- the weld on the cable inside the lock secured only about 4 of the 100 strands of the cable so within a couple of months, the cable just pulled out of the lock! First time, I thought it must have been a fluke, so bought another one and it did the same thing! And both rotary combination locks also failed the same way. After about a year, the plates inside the lock separated and were not turning when the dial turned, so you could no longer open the lock by entering the combination. What has happed to this once reliable lock company. These lock are an absolute joke. I tried to contact them, but on their web page, there is no way to do so. Customer service rating ZERO. Product quality rating ZERO.

I got locked out of my key safe but broke into it in under 10 seconds without using any combination to gain access

I bought a 510D adjustable shackle 1 3/4" padlock from Target. The padlock portion of the lock separates from the shackle (the upper part of the lock). I did not know that the padlock (the bottom part of the lock) would go on the shackle upside down. In other words, the part of the lock where the key is placed. I inadvertently put the padlock on upside down and I could not open the lock because I couldn't put the key in the lock. I was locked out of my locker and I had to get bolt cutters to get access to my locker. "HIGHLY" upsetting!!! I was totally inconvenienced and I wasted $9.00. I am suggesting that "no one" purchase this confusing padlock. I always had total respect for the Master Lock brand, but I will "NEVER"!!! purchase another one.

Found an old lock in our storage which obviously we didn't remember the combination for. Took a picture of the back of the lock with the serial number and proof that the lock was not attached to anything. Within a couple of days they responded with the combination. It worked and now we have an extra lock to use.

Just wow… MASTERLOCK SUCKS! I am a beginner locksmith, and for most of my life I had thought master locks were strong locks…Bro I can get into one of those in 2 seconds! I taught a 8 year old how to get into one of those in under 5 minutes. Just sad Masterlock…just sad

I set the lock and used it a few times. Then I went to open it and it didn't open. I know I used the right combo. Luckily I had a back way into my property, otherwise I would have had a big problem.

Yet another useless product from B&Q. They need to improve their buying process.

this master lock did NOT keep my shoe safe. i wrapped it around my shoelace and to my dismay, it came undone and my shoe was stolen by a hooligan. this is NOT ACCEPTABLE and i will be complaining to everyone about this. i hate you masterlock, i lost my right shoe because of you. i now have to hobble around everywhere because of YOU and YOUR LOCKS. what’re the ladies at my crochet practice gonna think of me? how dare you

I so wish I’d read these reviews. My experience has been exactly the same as everyone else.

After one year, the so-called external weatherproofed key lock rusted up, and it’s now Useless

Worse than that. It seems like they’ve got one person in Customer service in the UK and no one else and they can’t do anything they can’t even organise a return. They then forward you to someone in France, who then pretty much refused everything and doesn’t Engage or even understand which product you’re dealing with.

This is a God awful company and clearly the number of bad reviews on this website that they haven’t even responded to tells you everything I’m gonna copy this review to Amazon and try and stop other people from wasting money on a company, whose promises of whether proofing and lifetime warranties are absolutely meaningless

What a truly, awful company what a truly awful set of products, what truly awful Customer Services

Master Lock sold me two wall mount locks, they are supposed to bank on safety items, yet their processes aren't safe. I decided to store my pin codes for my mount locks on their website and once I try to retrieve them, their website no longer exists.
For all the customers that now have Bluetooth products or else, the day will come when they just simply say, oops we no longer offer mobile coverage and that's why you should f* yourself.
For selling safety products I would deem their policies unsafe and unreliable.
