I ordered 80 flyers for a charity project in May, and was printed poor quality, sometimes illegible pages. Some of the pages had been printed on paper that already had writing on, and others were printed with nothing on the back (despite paying for double sided). We had only hired people for flying for a few hours, so a reprint wasn't a possibility (nor was it offered). When we shared the quality issues afterwards, Max Spielmann said they'd need all 80 flyers back in order to process any sort of refund (despite extensive photographic evidence of the terrible quality).
The service has been terrible. I have sent a further refund request, and hope to hear back soon, but for now I will recommend to avoid this company.

Visited Tesco, Oakley Road, Corby and a young man sorted out photos for me from a memory stick for a funeral.
He was professional and the service I received was exemplary. He fitted photo in frame for when I got back.
His name was Thomas and, this young man is an asset to your Company. Customer Service was excellent.

Less than a one star. Ordered a picture for a gift at the weekend. Paid for express delivery. Arrived Thursday which is later than even the standard service. Opened it and the glass frame was smashed. What am absolute joke of a company. I will obviously never use them again. I am sure they will "take these comments onboard" but that doesn't really help me.

I would like to highly recommend and thank George who works in your King's Heath branch. Not only is George personable, helpful, courteous and observant - but he has such a talent for what he does, paying close attention to detail while manning the whole shop. I have witnessed him multi task in fine fashion under pressure and meet the needs of even the most challenging (and rudest) of customers while maintaining his calm decorum and professionalism, ever still providing a first class service. More then once have I thought how lovely and helpful he is and thought it was about time to publicize a well fitted character reference!

I do not need to buy a digital camera for the immediate future !

I had been editing two photobooks, each with approximately 300 photos saved. I was about 80% complete but the photobook editor became inaccessible, with the website instructing to check back later. I kept trying, but no access. Eventually I contacted the customer help service and received a prompt response saying the service was no longer available and I would have to start again. There was no warning of the shut down, so no opportunity to try and finish the project. I explained that the photos I had saved were now unavailable and I had relied on the service for several years, but received a message saying that while it was temporarily shut down they ‘had to make the difficult decision not to reinstate the photobook service at all. As a result, the editor has now been permanently retired and existing projects can no longer be accessed or recovered.’ I find this lack of customer care unacceptable. I never take to writing reviews, but imagine if I had taken a car to be serviced and they decided to destroy it because they were changing the nature of their business, and didn’t inform me that they were going to do so. There is no compensation for the hours that I spent on this work, and I am staggered that with access to people’s emails saved in their system that they would not notify people in advance.

What a rip off,£12.99 for a passport photo was bad enough but then to charge £1.00 on top of that just to have it emailed is shocking.Pure greed, I'll never use this
Tesco in store service again.

Popped into into max spielman in Pontefract today.
All I had was a picture of a very old black and white picture on my phone and wasn't expecting miracles. However,,, Andy was brilliant. He patiently got it on screen,, airbrushed it or whatever and I couldn't believe the results. Perfect. I chose frames and he patiently put them in. Absolutely amazing customer service,, a very rare thing these days !!!. Would highly recommend. Thanks Andy

Staff member Emma at the Haverfordwest branch, she was patient in helping me, what made her different was she was helping 3 other customers at the same time, plus the serving of cash customers, and getting customer purchases, it was all within her stride she never faltered, her smile never left her. She is a credit to her company

I have to say that Nicky, who works in the Bingley store, is an absolute star. Nothing is too much trouble for him. He is friendly, polite and can't do enough to help. Max Spielmann are lucky to have Nicky working for them. I genuinely have never encountered anyone who provides such excellent customer service on a consistent basis. No job is too big or small and he always takes time to help those of us (like me!) who are... not very tech savvy! I really can't recommend the Bingley store and Nicky highly enough.

Centering Just wrong, lighting too dull, can't see yourself before taking photo, no height adjustment, didn't deserve a 1 star but had to just to review,

Really unhappy with the "service" or lack thereof. For years I've made photobooks via Tesco for Max Spielmann then all of sudden the website was down for maintenance. I was advised to re-make my books on the actual Max Spielmann website. I've since spent weeks doing that as each of my books had 150 pages. Now this facility is not available. I got in contact with customer services querying this as I've had emails stating my photobooks will be deleted if not updated, despite me updating them on a weekly basis to avoid this. I contacted customer service with my concerns and got a poor, stock response saying that it was down for maintenance and not answering any of my questions. Incredibly poor service.

I used one of their booths for a passport photo. I was annoyed that there was no stool in the booth, as per the old days, which were well positioned and adjustable for different heights. Here, there was just a ledge right at the back of the booth on which to perch, and I wasn't able to adjust the height. I ended up leaning forward, as you would, naturally, and looking up. Well, my photo turned out appallingly. I looked so fat and it was not a true representation of myself. It made me feel very self-conscious and sad. I took another the next day, out of frustration, on my phone and sent that to the passport agency instead, who accepted it. I looked much thinner and more like myself. I complained via the website and was told the stool had been removed for wheelchair access. I understand and agree this is important, but for those more able-bodied, the ledge does not work. The images are apparently adjusted and cropped since they're taken from a great distance (!), making for the most awful photos known to modern man and woman. Bring back film and adjustable stools! I was refunded in full.

Just visited max photo.co.uk in Tesco Woolwich. How wonderful to find the old values in a new store Gina was helpful kind and went beyond her normal duties to help me in my passport predicament. If like me you have no idea how the passport system works go see Gina in the Woolwich Tesco store you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

I ordered some photos to be collected from Max Speilmann booth in Tesco. 16 of the 20 photos had been misprinted with lines in the picture. I contacted Max Speilmann via their online contact form twice but they don't reply. I will now have to contact Tesco Customers services to resolve the issue.
UPDATE 14.05.26
Managed to get hold of customer services and they allowed me to re print the pictures at no extra cost. I went to max Speilmann store at Yeading Tesco and Daniel the customer service assistant at Max Speilmann was very helpful. I also printed off another 2 pics !
Thanks

I visited Max Spielman in Stockport (inside Asda's Store) in early March this year. I asked for just over 130 colour prints (6x4) to make an reminiscence album for my son's 40th birthday. I was charged £81.60 for the prints.
When I got them home I was very disappointed with the prints. Some were missing, others were blurred, the orientation of some photos had been changed so part of the picture was missing, and some of the photos had white borders on both side of the picture.
I raised the matter with Max Spielman. They were sympathetic, especially as I wanted the photos for a special purpose.
I was asked to email their customer services team which I did. They asked me to produce proof of purchase and to send copies of the prints I was dissatisfied with.
I immediately replied explaining that I'd gone into Stockport and used their counter service in Asda because I couldn't do the work myself online. Had I been able to do that I would have done so, and it would have cost a fraction of what Max Spielman charged me.
THAT WAS IT! I DIDN'T HEAR ANY MORE FROM MAX SPIELMAN.
Given that I'd gone in person to Max Spielman, customer services could have asked me to go back to the shop. But they didn't. I haven't been offered any form of redress by the company.
Not wanting to spend any more money asking another company to do the prints for me, I've made the best of what I've got.
But, I would never use Max Spielman again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.
