This app is straight-up nonsense. The UI is confusing as hell, nothing is intuitive, and placing an order feels like solving a puzzle for no reason. I spent way too much time trying to understand it,... See more

Customer service refused outright to cancel my account over email, instead putting it on hold. Three attempts and no cancellation so far.

Restaurants are closed and the country is under quarantine but they refuse to issue refunds. Customer service's response was basically, unless you can prove that you've died, we won't give a refund. For anyone in the same position, contact your bank or credit card company and ask them to do a chargeback; they'll get your money back for you in a few days.

This company is really dicey. I placed an order on 2 separate days within the same week and when I went to pick up each order, the restaurant was closed. I emailed MealPal and by the time that they responded, it was not possible to place a new order because the order window had passed. I emailed back to request a refund due to the unreliable terms and have yet to receive a response regarding their deceptive business practices.
UPDATE / Please note in the reply from MealPal below, they still have not offered to refund any portion of my account even though they were unable to fulfill the terms of the account agreement. They happily took my money without offering any solution to the issues that I brought to their attention. Sneaky.

False promotion and deceptive website (app). Stay away from using MealPal, they are a dishonest company making money by tricking customers. I received an Amazon gift card promotion and specifically asked the person handing out the promotion that 1 month subscription will suffice to receive the gift card. However, when I reached out after not receiving said gift card, one of the representative told me I need to subscribe for two months. When I reached out again, the other representative told me I already had an account?? They can't even get there story straight! I'm guessing they just completely lied about giving Amazon gift card to boost the subscription number for the VCs to see, who knows?
Also, their application (both web and mobile) are designed to be deceptive. There is no way for you to manage your subscription through the app and the only way is to email their customer services and sometimes they take weeks to respond. Their entire business model is based off of "Oh we hope they forgot about their subscription and don't check their bank statement!"
Personally, I had a bad experience with MealPal and would not use it again or recommend to anyone.

They decided to just charge more for the service without any confirmation. The only way to reach them was by email. They refused to refund the total charged, instead they just gave it back 10 bucks and didn't give a single f*** about it. They trust people would not notice the change so they can make even more money. That's a lack of respect with customers.

This company is quite clearly a dishonest one. Their app provides no option to cancel subscription or remove your credit card details, so I wrote in and got written confirmation that my plan would not be renewed. Despite this, my subscription was auto renewed anyway after all credits were used! I had to then write in AGAIN to get the plan confirmed, and their response was that my credit card would only be refunded after a lengthy delay.
Their website is also deliberately set up so that there is no confirmation page - if you are an existing customer, your credit card is charged immediately on a page that doesn't tell you the final total that is being charged (it looks like you will be led to a final confirmation screen but your card is instead charged immediately - and remember, you can't remove your credit card details from their system).
All these shady practices reek of a company that is desperately trying to scam money out of unsuspecting consumers. I would avoid, if I were you.

Genuinely absolutely horrific company.
I downloaded their app last year, and went onto their pay as you go service, because they had some really good deals on food around where I worked in London. Over time, I stopped using it because of the December holidays, and never came back really. A week ago I checked my bank statement and realised they started charging me for a subscription service, and have removed the pay as you go ability. I never opted in for this!!
What's worse is they give you absolutely no ability to unsubscribe. On their website it says if you want to unsubscribe, email them. I've emailed 3 days ago now, and haven't had any response. I've blocked them at my bank now, because I'm pretty sure they're going to still try and charge me.
Avoid this company like the plague. The good deals you get here or there don't make up for the fact that they take absolute advantage of you! I will never use them again, and will let all my friends, family and contacts know not to use them.

Mealpal is not cheap after the first month discount. Maybe company can review to lower the amount per cycle after the first month.
MEALPAL IS A SCAM!!!!! Anyone who works there reading this should be ashamed you are working there. They promised an Amazon gift card upon trying out for a month and I have never received said gift card. They charge me for the next month though I specifically reached out to customer service to cancel. They don't have any option to cancel on their apps, you have to email the customer service specifically and they take weeks to respond. If you respect yourself and don't want to feed these thieves, please stay away from using this app.

I get my meals for half the price I’d normally pay in my city. I get to beat the crowd by picking up my orders. What’s there not to like about mealpal?
I used mealpal for a couple of months and fairly happy with it. I decided to pause my account due to a holiday with a few meals leftover that could be used when you reactivate your account. Whilst I understand this, what really is a terrible practice, is when you click on your app, it says "please activate" without you being able to look at your account. When you click on please activate, you are immediately charged for another month without warning or explanation. This is intentionally a deceptive practice. How can you charge someone almost 76 pounds with two words - "please activate" This could mean activate your app. There are many practices this company employes to take money from you, be warned.

If you eat, you should be using MealPal. You save money, eat a ton of delicious and differentiated food, and support local restaurants.
Very convenient and saves money! I only give 4 stars because I would like more options.

Big fat Scammer... They charge you extra out of nowhere... And its hard to cancel the subscription plan.. You can't click a button in the apps, instead you need to email and the reply is slow.

Customer service sucks. Too many system malfunctions.

The service is great. I’ve never had any bad experiences with the vendors or anything. I wish there were customization options for food in case of allergies/preference
Very good application to eat different meals everyday and save (a lot of) money !
CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! Meal Pal..This company is an absolute SCAM!! They will charge your credit card immediately when you think you are on a trial. They will also increase the price and roll-over your plan without your authorization or any notification. They will also NOT refund the amount they illegally charge your credit card. THE WORST SCAM COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Very disappointing. Two costs were taken off my account with out my acknowledgement. One being agreed and the other without being aware. I have been spammed daily with deals with different prices every time, when I eventually do take up the offer sent and pay for it - I get charged double the amount! It may be in the terms and conditions but it should be communicated to a customer when there are any actions their bank account to allow them to proceed or not.
