NO COMMUNICATION. I tried numerous times to close the account. I now owe $728 ?!! MediBank Emails are "No-Reply", and phone numbers don't work from the US. Now what? I guess I'm an outlaw.

Policy cancellation refund is taking way too long to process. I was promised that I would receive the refund within 2 weeks of requesting it, it has now been 3 weeks. I've had to reach out to customer service 3 times and yet all they've given me is "your refund is taking longer than expected, thanks for your understanding". I would not recommend anyone to go with medibank. Thankfully I've never had to make a claim with them before. If it takes them this long for them to process simple policy cancellation refunds, I can only imagine how well they manage claims.

I have been with Medibank for more than 1 year for my OVHC. The monthly premium went up quite significantly in April 2026. I spoke to a consultant and she said Medibank can't do anything with the price.
When I was trying to cancel the policy and go to another provider, Medibank charged a $50 discharge fee which is quite ridiculous!

I had a great experience with my last hospital claim. I knew exactly what my out of pocket was going to be and it was easy to claim. I also loved the fact that I could use some of my Medibank "live better" points towards lowering my Extras. This was a bonus.
