Well, you should be more transparent on our adds. When you market a free event on your website it does not mean that it is free. I take the example of the Life drawing. How on earth you market it free... See more

It is not like it use to be by no means.
One big issue, is trolls pop into meetings.
They masturbate, they show up nude or they just are in there to cause trouble. Many of the organizers are looking at other venues. They are making sure they see that the video is on, so they can boot them off but that is not fixing everything.
Another issue is virtual meetings should not have mileage limits for locating subject matter.
Some of my RSVP's don't show up in my "going events" so I have to go to all my groups to verify.
I wish I could star my usual or favorites because I have to go through the whole list to find ones that I want to go to.
It has become so expensive that a lot of groups don't continue.
makin’ merry with the hearty pirates o’ me own Space Coast Meetup Crew at the 23rd Pirate Feast!! 🏴☠️
Aye, perhaps ‘twas the lack o’ a proper Pirate Fest Host that led me to cross paths with Captains from all corners o’ the Seven Seas. Yet truth be told, me finest hours were spent swillin’ grog and makin’ merry with the hearty pirates o’ me own Space Coast Meetup Crew! 🏴☠️
Well worth the time and the intellectual energy.
A well-spent two and a half hours of incisive, winding philosophical discussion of dizzing and inspiring thoughts. Well worth the time and the intellectual energy.
Great Host great event
Really well run event with a very kind and considerate host!
Used to be Good but not now
They nag you continuously to do a paid subscription and the site doesn't work that well. Their policies hurt people that pay for a group by allowing paid users to jump lines on wait lists whether the people paying for the group agree to it or NOT.

Meet Up Officially Sucks
Whomever is responsible for the change in the business model of Meetup should be fired. There were so many other options to choose from than putting up a paywall at exorbitant monthly costs just to RSVP to an event. The beauty of Meet Up was the hyperlocal ability to meet people with shared interests for free. Organizers paid a nominal fee. Today, you can't see the details of the event, or who is attending without paying. In addition, there are ads everywhere. Meet Up officially sucks.

Good events with nice hosts. You can find your people.
Meetup releases defective Software then Ignores reports.
Meetup does a poor job of testing their User Interface (UI). They recently released a new "better" UI which is so defective that I cannot even succeed at creating a new event. Their Customer support is unresponsive.
Great class!
( Meet-up)’s really do not want people to connect on a authentic level.
Meet ups deny and control what type of group you will offer. For example I set up a TIBETAN bowl Sound group to offer Sound Healing and they denied the group. Here we have a group where people can come spend an hour listen to soothing healing sounds and then leave and meet ups denied this group. Yet they will have online groups or in person groups that meet up in bars or restaurants or talk about how to fight being lonely. At $17 per week people are paying for these groups that rarely offer anything other than meeting up and going for a walk on a trail, picking some weeds, going to a bar… But offer something like TIBETAN Sound Healing and it doesn’t meet their requirement. What a bunch of BS.
Connect with people
Meetup helps me a lot to grow my group and connect with new people; I’m very grateful.
