Although the advice was there re: cutting the cake. It didn’t cut well. It was crumbly. It didn’t taste nice and I won’t order it again.

Coronation cake
Cake arrived beautifully and carefully wrapped so not damaged in transit. The cake was used as a focal point for our village celebrations and was cut into fingers which folk could taste in return for a donation to village funds. It was a tremendous success!

The fruit cake l bought was the best I have ever tasted. The only complaint l have is that when l lifted it gently from the box, I found it had broken in half and when l picked up each half, that too broke in half again. The taste was fantastic but very difficult to cut as it crumbled into small pieces so not an elegant way to serve. However l would buy it again

Have enjoyed many Meg Rivers cakes in the past. The Coronation fruit cake was however very difficult to cut cleanly, even with a sharp knife and was crumbly and tasted slightly underbaked.
