Mentallyc has been an absolute game-changer for my practice. As a therapist, documentation used to be one of the most draining parts of my workday. Since using Mentallyc, I've been able to reclaim hours of time each week without sacrificing quality or compliance. The AI-generated notes are accurate, customizable, and HIPAA-compliant—which gives me peace of mind. I also love how easy it is to integrate into my routine. Now I spend more time focused on clients and less time drowning in paperwork. Highly recommend for any mental health professional looking to lighten their load without cutting corners.
The platform has done very well with continually improving. The site is easy to use, with clear instructions. I wish it would stop denoting "(client)" in the notes, as having to go through and edit all of the instances, especially without an apply-all edit feature, reduces the time saving quality the app promotes.
Mentalyc has allowed me so much more room to engage in active listening and reflection. The amount of data lost in sessions simply due to human error or limitations can at times be a hindrance to clinical work, but mentalyc allows me to focus intently and be present with my client while having full confidence that I’ll have my client’s exact words locked away safely. It has fine tuned and sharpened my skills as a clinician, specifically with the new AI analysis feature that gives constructive feedback and tips. It has cut my admin time drastically, which allows me more time to engage in continuing education and even take on a couple extra clients without added stress.
This has really changed the therapy private practice game. Great service.
The only thing that prevents this from being a 5-star review is that AI is an emerging technology, and the capabilities and quality nuances are continually evolving. However, not only am impressed with what the software is able to do (which really makes a difference in my workload/efficiency), but I am most appreciative for how much they seem to take customer feedback on board. They seem to always be interested in feedback, and I have seen them make concrete changes based on the feedback they are getting. As a result, the product/service is already better than it was when I began using it a year ago.
I’ve been using Mentalyc for a while now, and it’s honestly been a huge help. It cuts down my note-taking time by a lot, and the summaries are super accurate. The team is also really friendly and quick to help if anything comes up. Can’t imagine going back to doing notes the old way!
Lots of glitches in the technology. The AI makes things up that are not said in the session, and the notes rarely reflect what actually did happen. Don't know why that is, since it does record a transcript, though the transcript is rarely accurate, blending therapists words together with client. Customer service is polite but unreliable. The technology often fails, deleting notes, not recording some, and sometimes merging two client's under one and changing the name of one. This app is overpriced yet one of the only ones low enough cost to spring for it. Be advised: for $350 you're getting VERY basic, mid technology. If you want all the bells and whistles most therapists need, you're going to pay double that. And this company is far from worth that kind of money.
I loved this program during my free trial, but it was completely false advertising once I signed up. I signed up for mini notes and it only allows intakes and you can only use it once per client. I then went up a level because it stated that SOAP notes were included. THEY WERE NOT!!! I only work a few clients per week and so paying $100 per month is not cost effective for me.
I cancelled my subscription. It was supposed to end on March 6th. I recorded my last intake with it March 5th. at the end of the recording they cancelled my subscription. This was a day early!!! They stated that I could pay for a subscription again to recover the note.
It is a complete turn off that they only care about money and will even use dirty tactics to take your money from you.
Don't use this! Just for the principle of it!!
Hands down, a game changer for therapists like me, but I had to find out the hard way after breaking my wrist and having no recourse.
The quality of the notes that are generated from my notes dictated, cut and paste, or recorded from the client session are ALL exemplary. This is CLAW BACK protection that not only helps me provide more comprehensive records, it protects and preserves my time so that I can concentrate on the work with my clients. The format of SOAP or DAP are available for basic membership at 100 notes per month. When I had an issue, I was able to meet with a support person in a timely manner who was communicative, helpful, and was able to help me address my challenge, clearly outlining our next steps. I HIGHLY recommend this service to any psychologist! I'm working on getting my team to utilize this groundbreaking tool.
Best notes for therapy I've seen in all the AI note taking tools I've reviewed.
It even does Group notes !
