Too long for an inspection.

Must be too small of a business if they can’t make an appointment for something as simple as an inspection. Pretending like the dmv send people to you in which they don’t. People just choose where to go. May have just caught me on a shit day, but it’s pathetic that I couldn’t even set up an appointment. Suggested to leave vehicle there for the day. Better yet. Give me the checklist and I’ll do the inspection. 🧐 I’m not leaving a truck with a scooter lift, which you clearly see in use. Side note, parking lot too small and couldn’t see handicap parking.

Will not be back.

Called Republic Road store in the early morning and was given an 11 am appointment for a vehicle inspection. I arrived 5 minutes early and the shop was full. At 11:50, after 3 vehicles had been driven out of the shop and returned to their owners, there were no mechanics visible in the shop and my vehicle was still in the parking lot. No updates from the front desk person or the shop manager. When I asked about it, I was told that one mechanic was sent to another store because someone there had quit. So, their solution to an issue and customer inconvenience at another store was to create an issue and customer inconvenience at this store. They told me that my mechanic was having a quick lunch (in the store) and then they would inspect my vehicle. I was there for an hour and fifteen minutes for a 20-minute job. Terrible customer service; no communication about the situation. Take care of YOUR customers before taking care of customers at another store. I will not be back.

I took my X5 to Midas in 13683 104 Ave

I took my X5 to Midas in 13683 104 Ave, Surrey, BC in Jun for DriveTrain Malfunction. I told them that I just replaced all the ignition and coil plugs recently and wanted them to do the diagnostic check. I waited for around two hours and they informed me that I would need another smoke test because they believe that there was a gasket leak. I asked them it was not the coil or spark plugs that cause the problem and how much for the smoke test. They told me it was not the coil and spark plugs and the smoke test was almost $200(if I remember correctly). I refused for the smoke test and probably brough my car back another day. I decided to take my X5 to another shop and paid them to do the smoke test. The test came out that there was no leaking in the gasket and I let them do the diagnostic test. They did the scanning and found out the spark plugs #2 and #8 were bad and replaced them. That solved the DriveTrain Malfunction. I'm not really sure if the staff from the Midas shop were inexperience, or because they ignore to scan and check the coil plugs when they did the diagnostic test and did not know that the culprit that caused the DriveTrain Malfunction was the bad ignition coils. If they did the job properly, I would pay for only around $500 for both the test and replacing the bad plugs. Instead, I had to pay Midas's diagnostic test, paid the other shop smoke test and then diagnostic test for a second time just to fix two bad spark plugs. I will never bring my car back to Midas in the Whalley area.

scheduled an appointment at Midas though CarAdvise -Instacart perk East…

scheduled an appointment at Midas East Windsor NJ for an oil change through CARADVISE.

After starting the job, they told me that the oil pan has no threads left and the drain plug will not tighten . I was wondering what they did when they opened it so that could happened.

They wanted to charge me over $500 for labor and part, including a tire rotation I did not ask for.

I ended up towing my car to another shop where they fixed it for $150.

Under my point of view, they are not professionals. They just want the money, both Midas and CarAdvise since none of them would take responsibility on the damage.

No Charge

I took my car to Midas because I was hearing a thumping sound as I drove. When they called to let my know what was wrong, I was told a piece of rubber tire was lodged underneath. There was no charge. I have used their services for years and they have always been honest about the issue. I fully trust Midas with my car’s repairs.

Against my better judgment I went for…

Against my better judgment I went for Midas special price 79.99 for oil change and tire rotation. The rotation is what I went for.
When I pick up my vehicle and pay. Then I find out no tire rotation done. Have rusty lug nuts on my FJ Cruiser. Charge $109.00. So much for that. My car takes 6.5 litres of oil opposed to 5 litres. Never going back

Amazing Silverdale mechanic

I have gone to the Silverdale, WA Midas off and on for years, but my June 9, 2025 service was nothing short of amazing. My brakes had made a sudden, crazy sound, so I headed straight there. They took my beloved Ford Escape with 307K miles and tuned up those old brakes, replacing their lifetime-warranted ceramic pads. Their mechanic was a magician: my Escape truly felt like new again. Quick service and a like-new brake tune-up for an affordable price - I was beyond impressed 🤩

🇬🇧 Letter of Complaint – English Version

Subject: Complaint Regarding Air Conditioning Service

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received at your garage concerning the refilling of my car’s air conditioning system.

I came to your garage for an A/C refill, and the technician informed me that the system had been filled within 20 minutes. We tested the A/C for about 15 minutes on-site, but the cooling was not functioning properly. The technician assured me that once the car runs for about an hour, the system would start cooling normally.

Unfortunately, nothing changed even after extended use. I returned the next day and spoke to another employee at Midas, who told me that the A/C specialist, Patrick, was not available and advised me to come back on Monday at 8:00 AM.

I came back on Monday at 8:00 as instructed and explained the situation to Patrick. He then told me I needed to wait until 10:00 AM to speak to his boss. I also asked Patrick whether their A/C machine works properly and he confirmed that it does without any problem.

If that is the case, then I have to conclude that the technician lied to me about filling the system with gas, as the air conditioning still does not work at all.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. I have lost two days of my holiday trying to resolve this issue and still have no working A/C. I expect a fair explanation and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

🇳🇱 Klachtenbrief – Nederlandse Versie

Onderwerp: Klacht over airconditioningservice

Geachte heer/mevrouw,

AFRI RAMADANI]

Dalse advertisement on price!

Went in for oil change in Raleigh, NC. I had a coupon for $34.99. After checking in I was informed the oil change would actually be $75.00. I guess the coupon was just a "ruse" to get me there. I'll go back to Take 5.

Stay away from ANY Midas in the Tucson…

Stay away from ANY Midas in the Tucson area!! They are robbing people that would normally trust the Midas name!! The finance company just increased my bill by 20 bucks in 5 days!! Rip off artists taking my advantage of innocent people!! I’m considering reposting to the better business people!! Frankly my bill will be an extra 100?bucks after financing almost 700 and paying more das 200 so a total of 1000 bucks for a tune up and oil change I was gullible and they used that to their advantage!!

Midas Richmond excels all other Midas shops. Look it up!

Obviously, many of these comments are from those who have not experienced MIDAS OF RICHMOND(VA). I have been a customer for several years. I can’t say enough! Customers are indeed treated well. I’m fortunate to get a loaner car at each visit. The mechanics explain their observations and answer any questions. They corrrect any misunderstandings or and faux pas.
They are communicators. Plus this company truly gives back to the community. Mike Smith, thank you!

NEVER GOING BACK

PSA - MIDAS MECHANICS & MANAGEMENT ARE SCAMMERS
I’ll start by saying, Midas franchise (Duncan, Nanaimo, colwood & Courtenay), Operations Manager paid the $2324.85 Ford bill to fix the car after the mechanic’s in Duncan (Steve?), completely botched a repair then tried to hide it with silicone….and the incompetent store manager (Jasmine Sanchez) who backed him.
Daughtr took her car into Midas may9th to have a water leak investigated. $1100 later she had a new water pump…and a new check engine light. She had to take it back the next day to get the code and was told she needed a camshaft sensor (they would warranty the replacement).
Part was ordered and booked in for may 20th for a ‘couple hour’ replacement.
6 hrs later husband went to check out what was taking so long and was told they now needed the proper ‘tool’ to set the timing and it would take a day or so to get it.
May 23 I went into the Midas office to inquire…it had been 4 days and no update. I was told they’d broken the oil pick-up tube. A whole drama ensued with ms. Sanchez over getting a rental, which we did get after I repeatedly requested her bosses name (never got it)
Daughter goes back in may 27 to check status and the mechanic’Steve’ corners her on her way out and tells her they knew the oil tube was cracked when they did the pump and that they were fixing it when they didn’t have to’, in an attempt to intimidate her, knowing full well they’d messed up and couldn’t fix there mistakes.
May 30 got the car back with Ms Sanchez advising us ‘car perfect, run’s fabulous, my mechanics the best’ we just can’t clear the check engine light’ and that we could take the car and get out.
More drama ensues because Ms. Sanchez is a piece of garbage and no joke, I’ve never had such a horrific experience EVER, in commerce.
Car barely started and it was all we could do to limp it to Island Ford. They booked it in but couldn’t look at it until June 11, when they notified us the sabotage the Midas mechanic did (broke & stripped the timing plug then covered it in silicone)and tried to hide.
Midas franchise head office (colwood) was sent the report from Ford that they couldn’t deny and paid the bill.
Zero apologies for 5 weeks of car drama and loss of use. Zero contact from upper management.
HUGE shout out to Island Ford, and Natasha Grey, service advisor. They went above and beyond and kept us informed the whole time.
But, I will never ever forget what utter pieces of garbage the staff are at Midas and I’ll never not back my kids when they’re being scammed.
I can’t help but think how many other people they’ve done this to😡
