I regret opening an account with them

I regret opening an account with Millennium BCP. While their website appears professional at first glance, my experience using their services—especially in comparison to other banks—has been disappointing.

The cost of transferring money abroad is high, and worse still, you can't do it yourself; it requires manual intervention from their staff. When using a credit card in another country, they apply an additional fee, which adds up quickly. DId not expiriences this with other bank credit cards.

The website and app are frequently down, and the interface is not user-friendly or intuitive. Many actions on the site require SMS verification, but in the area where I live in Portugal, I often don’t receive these SMS messages, making it very difficult to complete transactions.

Too much information for application.

Too much information for application.
I know, KYC requires much information for a bank account, but i ve renderend a lot of details as tax info, Nif, recent pay slip, bank statement other banks in English, but they still require a letter in English for proof of employer that unfortunately cannot be given in English. You have to put in a lot of effort, and they do not state what exactly is required in advance, for an application.
Well, I’ll not be banking with Millenium than.

Not been able to pay an international…

Not been able to pay an international transfer as they were "experiencing difficulties" for about 1 week (not sending sms to confirm the transaction. Application is ages behind all other banks (things need to be redone over and over again after their system fails, and no option to save the transaction) I worked with. They kept my money from international transfer when receiving it for a few weeks even though it was announced. Terrible experience!!!

I had a disappointing experience at the Millennium BCP branch in Arganil today. I went in to open a business account, discuss investment options, and explore the possibility of securing four mortgages. However, the woman at the counter simply dismissed me with a blunt “no” until I left, showing no willingness to assist.

Just the week before, a South African employee at the same branch had informed me that they could help, which made this encounter even more frustrating. Given the poor customer service and unprofessional attitude, I have since canceled my personal account and moved my banking to a different institution. It’s unfortunate, as I had been ready to bring significant business to the bank.

In case you dare to apply for a housing loan:

Millennium Bank advertises attractive perks and up to 90% credit funding for some customers. However, when you reach the stage of having your property appraised, prepare for a nightmare. In my case, the so-called independent appraisal company undervalued my property by a staggering €50,000 due to a miscalculation of the apartment’s area. And let me tell you, according to their evaluation, you count buy an apartment in a village, let alone in Lisbon. Even after I provided updated documentation that clearly proved the error, they refused to correct it. To make matters worse, Millennium Bank then offered me the option to pay an extra €250 for another “independent” appraisal—or simply move my account to a better bank. This experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating.

RUN FROM millennium BCP - Bank it is not TRUSTWORTHY!!!

I closed the bank account in person in London EC4N 4UA, at the time they didn't give me confirmation, that the account was closed !! Instead they told me that when the account balance is zero will close automatic, so I transfer all the money to my account, in front the customer service and She confirm again the balance now is zero.
nearly 1 year after , I just received a Letter charge me for tariff!!!

Extremely Disappointed with Millennium Bank's Handling of My Transfer

Millennium bcp Bank mishandled a large transfer. Despite numerous conversations, they failed to provide clarity or support. The branch assured me of coverage up to €60,000.
However, I still don't know where my money is, who collected it, or if an ID check was performed. The recipient, confirmed they never received the transaction. I was advised to obtain a police report and have included this in correspondence.
I have no confidence in Millennium Bank and have taken the matter to the Client Ombudsman and my lawyer. The lack of care and support is appalling.

They suddenly suspend my card and all my detect debits etc .
They required I provide proof of address to continue the account under some stupid Guistapo Law
I've been living at same address for 5 years .
Discrimination against EU member foreigners.
Avoid this fascist bank like the plague

AVOID this bank for credit home loan.
They will deduct you the 2% of your debit if you sell the appartament within 5 years (with fix tax fees )
Other banks are so much better.
Moreover the customer service is the worst ever .
They don't deserve one star , is too much

Can't increase the amount of the credit card for no reasons

I want to share with you today my disappointment. Millenium Bank has been managing our company's account for two years. Where the health of our company no longer needs to be demonstrated. Our activity requires us to travel a lot throughout Europe and the world.As you can imagine, we often go through vehicle rental establishments to be able to carry out our work. Some of these companies ask us for security deposits which can sometimes go up to 1200 euros (amount automatically refunded 48/72 hours after returning the vehicle. We therefore took out a credit card from Millennium to deal with this eventuality.
.To date the authorized amount is only 500 euros which poses a serious problem. We wanted to extend it to 1500 euros in recent days to be. refused by the bank to increase this credit for the sole reason of using it for vehicle rental. We are now thinking of closing our professional account because after two years we clearly see that we do not have the confidence of our bank.

Can’t rate zero or negative otherwise I would, their staff member Elisabete Pinto is a thief, stole €605 from my personal account that has nothing to do with a closed case on an old business account resolved by Lilia Rocha in February this year, she won’t respond to 3 emails so far and the central centre has even blocked my email address so I’ll see where this review gets me!!!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. You wait an hour or more to be served, even if your 3rd in line. Each teller spends at most an hour with each customer. Why?? They are very incompetent who can't do a simple wire transfer. Ex. I wire transferred euros to another euro acct in canada, they checked as funds to be deposited as cdn funds. I spent a week waiting and couldn't understand why my euro acct wasn't showing the deposit. Turns out it went elsewhere.

I had a joint bank account with my…

I had a joint bank account with my grandma.. they convinced my grandma to open a separate account to transfer her 50k over. Grandma got unwell and passed away. I went to the bank to sort out the money and found out that they have targeted my vulnerable grandma by getting her to invest into a new account with "interest" and no one contacted me as the joint bank account holder that this was happening!!!!!

This bank is the absolute worst and evil.

They prey on vulnerable people.

My mum had to come from.overseas to go to this silly bank and get a lawyer and pay all these extra fees to get her mum's money back.

It took over a month for the money to arrive back in the my account and then when it comes to seeing how much was returned. There was a loss of 2k, what???!!! So this money was transferred in the intention of gaining and instead of had a loss.... Interesting.

Scammers scammers scammers!!

So I finally got the money in my millennium account and when it came to be transferred it out they charged me money for the transfer, yet again!!! And then they blocked my account, called me and asked all these questions why I'm transferring the money and whether I have been contacted by a financial advisor to move this money away.

Lawyers would have a field day with this company. There are no words how disgusting this company is.

THIEVES

THIEVES! first they incorrectly set/open up a sole trader bank account, then when they realize everyone goes quiet/unresponsive to correspondence or passes me on to another colleague who knows nothing, now they are illegally taking money from my personal account to pay fines and charges that should never have been in the first place if they have opened the right account to start with, I’m nearly 2k out of pocket so far

If I could give zero I would.

I chose millennium for its so called prestige programme. Let me tell you there is nothing prestige about the service this bank provides.
International transfers stuck in the pending queue for one week!
Calls to the helpline do not help, they say a request is made and someone will call me, no one calls me.
Emails to my supposed branch do not get useful replies either.
The most atrocious service I’ve ever experienced from a bank.
Will be moving my account as soon as possible

100% recommend

I am really surprised by the negative reviews as my experience has been brilliant. I moved to Millenium from another Portuguese bank where I had a dreadful experience online, in the branch and phone support. Millenium has been a huge relief. I live 5 minutes from my branch so normally go in person when I can’t manage with the app. Staff always go the extra mile and also speak English. 100% recommend.

The world's WORST bank

Worst bank in the world.

It is insane how incompetent a single bank can be. Nobody answering emails, online banking feels like it was made 20 years ago.

And the worst thing?

If you leave Portugal before closing the account, they refuse to close it until you are present in person. In the meantime, they continue charging you every month.

Absolute scam, designed to rip you off.

AVOID AT ALL COST.

I don’t recommend

The service is real bad. They don’t want to work so they always try to postpone when everything can be done by the date. So many problem come up and every time I have to visit the bank and wait for hours.
Too much securities and they have 5 different numbers you have to remember and always enter.
