Total failure of aftercare service/warranty

Total failure of aftercare service and no accountability to the warranty company! Read on for details...

We bought a 5 year old Ford Kuga 18 months ago, which still has only 55,000 on the clock now. We were sold an extended warranty for £700 by Motorpoint and were promised a hassle-free, fully encompassing warranty. The contract crucially states that the third-party provider arranges the repairs, but the warranty is between us amd Motorpoint.

The third-party warranty company (Spectrum) have made false accusations about a broken flywheel being part of 'wear and tear' and after 20 hours on the phone and 4 weeks of the car in the garage, we have only £1,050 of £2,300 repairs covered. We still haven't got the car fixed.

Motorpoint have put one phone call into Spectrum and that's it. There was no concern about Spectrum being proven to have lied to a customer, and no accountability. They have since emailed us and told us the onus is on us and we have been hung out to dry.

A 6 year old car with average mileage would not have 'wear and tear' of a clutch bearing already, and the resulting flywheel, clutch bearing, slave cylinder and water pump are all relevant and reasonable requests to be repaired.

Motorpoint and Spectrum are conning people with worthless warranties and you should be very wary.

Returned to Motorpoint Burnley, still great service.

Returned to Motorpoint Burnley to look for a new car as I had purchased a car from them previously some 10 years ago. We experienced a high standard of service and were not left disappointed. Harrison took care of us, he was engaging and we didn't feel any pressure from him. He was helpful and informative. Harrison took us on a test drive, he was able to answer any questions we had and his help was really appreciated. I definitely recommend Motorpoint Burnley to family and friends. Harrison made the process very easy for us. Thank you.

Harrison George was great from beginning to end of the process. He took time to explain everything, secured me finance, found a brilliant car for me, always replied to emails, remained calm and helpful and made the whole thing very easy. 5⭐️ salesperson.

Motorpoint untrustworthy (Beware)

I bought an f type jaguar for £40k from Motorpoint
Derby it was transferred for me to Burnley.
When I first viewed the car it had been valeted
but was still very dirty especially under the bonnet
and door areas. I contacted the salesman at Derby
and he assured me the car on this occasion would
be cleaned under the bonnet.
When I collected the car it still had not been cleaned
properly,and under the bonnet wasn’t touched it was
poor.
Burnley offered to clean the outside of the car again,
this would have been their fourth attempt. They refused
to clean under the bonnet.
I liked the car and took it thinking Motorpoint were
a trustworthy company and would sort matters out.
I put a complaint in and was told to take it back and they would clean the outside again, but would not clean under the bonnet even though I had an email from
Derby clearly stating it would be done.
They offered £50.00 pound’s against a valet from a company of my choice or they would close the case down.
I asked for £150.00 compensation they refused and
immediately closed the case giving me no further redress.
Avoid this company they do not keep their word and treat people arbitrarily.

We appreciate that you had specific expectations regarding the cleanliness of the vehicle, particularly under the bonnet. While we acknowledge that there was a misunderstanding regarding this aspect, Motorpoint's policy is that we do not carry out engine bay or under-bonnet valeting. This is due to the potential health and safety risks involved, as well as the possibility of damage to sensitive electrical and mechanical components.

In recognition of your dissatisfaction with the vehicle presentation, we offered a £50 contribution towards a valet service of your choosing. This was intended as a gesture of goodwill and was the maximum compensation available to us under the circumstances.

We are sorry that we could not reach a resolution that met your expectations. However, we believe the goodwill gesture offered was fair and proportionate given the circumstances.

We value all customer feedback and wish you many enjoyable miles in your Jaguar F-Type.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the customer service we received when purchasing our new car today.
We were helped and advised by Ashton Nuttall.
Nothing seemed too much trouble for him .
He was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional throughout .
He also gave us plenty of space to be able to browse the huge selection of cars.
At not point did we feel pressurised into making a decision about purchasing a car but at the same time we felt anything we asked was answered promptly.
We would definitely buy another car from Ashton .

Dreadful signed in for 4 years

Dreadful signed in for 4 years, salesman didn’t do anything, £1200 commission (has to be disclosed nowadays), completely ignored my emails as did the company, I signed for the car my problems my issues, their expert mechanics could not see scratches, paint missing, holes so my fault my bad never shop here again simply not good enough
