I had filled out an online valuation form for selling my car and then booked an appointment to take it in to Motorpoint Burnley. When I got there they didn't seem to be aware of this booking.
My online valuation was £2,328. The website states that 95% of cars are bought for the valuation price which was the reason I chose Motorpoint over another, much closer garage.
After they had assessed the car the staff member came over and said they could offer me £2000 for it and didn't give any reason why this was less than the valuation. I wasn't even sure they knew what my quoted valuation was. I questioned why it was less than the valuation and was told that it was an old car and that anything older than 2 or 3 years would never meet the valuation price quoted and that these cars always go to auction. I felt the staff member was a bit pushy and just assumed I was happy to proceed after that explanation, we discussed it further when I said I wasn't (which I thought was pretty obvious) . He said that £328 less wasn't actually a lot of money which i found pretty insulting, that is a lot of money in my opinion and not his judgement to make, especially with the cost of living as it is.
I find it very difficult to believe that 95% of all the cars Motorpoint buy are less than 2 or 3 years old if those are the only ones likely to meet the valuation price. Even if that's true they should make it much clearer that older cars will definitely not meet the valuation price (so anything older than 2-3 years expect to be offered significantly less)
I chose Motorpoint based on the claim that 95% of valuations were paid out as I was already feeling a bit stressed about the process of selling the car and potentially being haggled down in price.
The actual process of selling it was straight forward and the money came into my account while I was there, even though it was in the evening.
I’ve never purchased a car from a dealer before. I loved that there was no pressure at Motor point, I was left to look around without all the usual questions from sales people. I received one follow up call after looking and finding a car I liked. The process was seamless and easy. Would highly recommend.

Very helpful and attentive staff. Wide choice of vehicles. Uncomfortable to view many of the vehicles during rain showers. More should be under cover. Fair price given on trade in vehicle.

Upon buying the car there was no Charging wire I was told dint worry they are not expensive. Yes 80 for the cheapest wire so I took the wire out of my old electric car also no tyre inflater but they were replaced by motorpoint . Couldn't tax the car online they had to go to a local post office to tax the car. I had to pay a £250 deposit because obviously I had no v5 for the car till it came through the post . I took it onto motorpoint the same day I got it. Now I had to go on line to claim my 250 refund. Website not working now for 3 days I rang them 23mins to answer the call to find out they couldn't process it either. Still waiting for the refund. Not good at all . Ps the car is fine.

The original sales person didn’t show up when we arrived to collect the vehicle. We waited well over
3/4 hour for someone to attend to us . He was very good.
Slightly disappointed with scuff marks on the dash passengers side and headrest. Not seen when we looked at the car!
