Really disappointed with my experience at Motorpoint Maidstone.

I took my 2021 BMW 330e in for inspection and the sales manager told me the EV battery system needed replacing and that the car would need to go back under warranty. This was presented to me as if it was a confirmed major fault, despite there being no warning lights on the dashboard and the code itself being marked as intermittent rather than permanent.

I was then told to take the car to a local garage for further checks. After doing that, the code was cleared, the car was driven and charged again, and the fault has not returned. The garage all but confirmed there was no active issue with the vehicle.

What also stood out to me was how many cars were being rejected while I was there. I was in the branch for around 30 minutes and saw at least 3 other cars rejected in that time alone, with customers being told to take their vehicles to We Buy Any Car instead. The whole process felt extremely rushed, with worst-case scenarios being thrown around without proper investigation, almost as if problems were being guessed at rather than properly diagnosed.

To make matters worse, communication afterwards was awful. I called Motorpoint Maidstone multiple times and nobody answered. I also tried contacting the salesperson I had been dealing with after being told they would be available all day, but again got no response.

The sales manager and this company are quite possibly the worst I’ve ever dealt with. In my opinion the whole experience felt extremely misleading, with customers being unnecessarily alarmed and worst-case scenarios being presented as fact before proper diagnostics had even been carried out.

I completely understand that dealers need to be cautious with hybrid vehicles, but I do not think it is acceptable to tell customers their EV battery needs replacing without properly confirming the issue first. Overall the experience caused unnecessary stress, wasted a lot of my time and left me feeling completely misled.

Very good prices

I bought a very nice and quite new second hand Nissan Qashqai and decided a warranty would be a good idea so paid an extra £900 for the warranty. Everything was fine and I really liked my new car. Six months later out of the blue while driving on a cold wintry night the car overheated and lost power due to a broken thermostat casing. There was absolutely no warning - no warning lights flashing, nothing at all to alert us to what was happening.
And now shockingly we have been told that the car needs a new engine and our warranty does not cover the cost because the car overheated and that we shouldn’t have driven a car that was overheating even though we were unaware of the situation. Motorpoint are taking no responsibility for what happened and so we have lost a huge amount of money and have no car.

We did have a hiccup but it was corrected well.

Really great customer service. I need to replace my car and from the moment I walked into the showroom I was put at ease by Sally who introduced me to Finn I told him my requirements and he suggested a few cars. When the car I wanted wasn’t on the forecourt Motorpoint shipped it in for me.
Nothing has been to much trouble and both Sally and Finn that helped me are an asset to their company. Will definitely use Motorpoint again

Got a price to sell my car to them when I arrived for appointment Darcy said the price should be ok but wanted to sell me another car and use mine in part exchange the car I was shone was dirty and had not been cleaned we went through a few options there was one I liked the look of but it was at another branch so I said I would have a look to see a car with the same colour which I found and did not like when Darcy rang me I said I did not like the colour but would still like to just sell them my car he just said that he did not know how that worked and to put my car back through the web site he did not seem interested when I did not want to part exchange so really lost interest

It was very quick and easy to purchase a car from Motorpoint. The cars are well priced and very well prepared. Chris at Maidstone was was very friendly and not pushy. The whole process was stress free and would recommend them rather than main dealers who are pushy and very uncompetitive. Great customer service. Well done.

Would recommend to anyone else as it was a good experience, personally liked the fact you are not pestered on entering the sight free to browse and also staff extremely friendly and happy to help once you choose to engage in looking at a car . Appointment on time. The Staff at Maidstone were very helpful and informative. Part exchanged my car , no problem. Test drived my new car , no problem. Both transactions went smoothly and quickly. Strongly recommend this company. This was my second purchase from Motor point.

From the moment I went into the the showroom the staff were friendly and helpful. The presentation of the car was excellent. The purchasing of the car was easy. I was offered all the extras without being pushy. Well done. I would certainly recommend the Maidstone branch to anyone.

Very refreshing way to buy a car, no pushy salespersons following you around, I'd seen a car I was interested in online and decided to pop in to have a look, I mentioned this to Chris the sales executive and he said no problem we'll get you the keys and leave you to look at it, and true to his word I was actually left alone, no salesperson hovering around waiting to pounce. I decided that I'd like to take a test drive went back into the show room and was introduced to Darcey who arranged the test drive, again I was allowed to take the car out without a salesperson sitting next to me which was really refreshing as I could relax and enjoy the drive.
I had a part ex which I had already got a price for online and when I got back Chris came over and explained how they come to a price, at this point I was expecting the usual knock down like you get with certain other companies, but no the price was still around the online estimate.
I can honestly say this was such a refreshing way to buy a car and at no point was any pressure put on me.
When I turned up to collect my nearly new car Issy sorted out all the paperwork and we were all completed in around 15 minutes.
Would definitely use motor point again and a special shout out to the Maidstone staff who made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable

Tina was amazing, she’s easy to understand very good with explaining and making sure everything is understood. Customer service was impeccable . The car is top notch and well worth the price as well as straight forward procedure
