Once my wife and I decided to look into a Reverse Mortgage, I, being in my early 70s, and my wife, in her late 60s, we reached out to Erik Floyd. He did a great job describing the process, as we were leery at first due to the varying opinions one hears. Erik was extremely helpful every step of the way, from initiation to completion of the Loan process when we settled in early November. I got your HECM loan though 1st American and as a result did not deal with anyone directly from Mutual of Omaha; those that I did deal with that represented your company did not leave a good impression: the underwriters were very disorganized, repeatedly asked for paperwork that had been supplied numerous times, were never sure of what they actually needed, claimed to have sent me the link to paperwork several times and yet I only received it when the banker got involved and sent it to me. The notary that was sent when I closed also did not have a good understanding of how I was to sign which pages, could not answer any questions I had and pushed me to not sign up for direct deposit and now I have to jump through hoops to get that activated. If it wasn't for the 1st American banker, I would have walked away from finishing this process. Given my experience with Mutual of Omaha I actively encourage others to go with another lender/insurance company/competitor of Mutual of Omaha no matter the service someone is looking for. The entire process took 5 months to complete which is completely ridiculous.

There is something seriously wrong with your loan processing department. Every day it was "we just need one more thing...". How about just making a list and asking for everything you need at one or two or three times. This everyday an emergency was extremely irritating and went on far too long. It caused me to miss a planned european trip because I got an urgent call or text or email almost every day.
