Good

The mechanic appears to have performed a high-quality service on the vehicle. However, the cost of parts, wheel rotation and alignment, as well as labour, was unexpectedly high. It is not the same information provided on their website. I understand that this may be due to the fact that the service was carried out by a large company, which typically charges more than independent mechanical workshops. Overall, the experience was satisfactory, and the quality of the work completed was commendable.

Exceptional Customer Service

I had 4 alloy wheels stored under my house. Three of them had a small inner rim crack, which is why they were there …pending a decision on whether to repair them. Two tyres showed minimal tread wear but the other two were well worn. On this day I finally decided to salvage what I could and dispose of the rest.

Run-flat tyres are notoriously difficult to remove at home, even if you have the right mix of removal tools. So, the question was, where should I go for help? Acting on a hunch, I decided to visit MyCar, located next to Kmart on Racecourse Cres in Launceston.

Never having been there before, and not knowing whether they would take the job, my plan was to have the two good tyres and one good rim removed from the set, and for the remainder to be disposed of …if possible. I was hoping it wouldn’t cost more than $50.

MyCar assured me it was no problem and to just bring the wheels in and that they would take care of it that afternoon. When I asked about the cost, they said there would be no charge. True to their word, when I returned two hours later the rim and 2 good tyres were ready and waiting for me. I offered up a $20 tip as a token of thanks, but it was politely refused.

Any way you look at it, this is exceptional Customer Service.

Very Disappointed

I booked my vehicle for a logbook service based on the advertised online price. However, when I arrived, I was informed that due to an “expensive part,” the service would cost an additional $200. This was not clearly explained beforehand, and I was not properly consulted before the extra charge was applied.

The service schedule for my vehicle is standard, and the pricing should have been transparent from the beginning. Unexpected additional costs without clear communication are not acceptable.

Very disappointed with the lack of transparency and communication. I expected better.

Fast and reliable, thorough check of my new my aquifer second hand car, picking up a few things the previous owners hadn’t brought to our attention.
