Land Rover imported from tge UAE. …
I recently imported my LandRover Discovery from the UAE. The car was collected from my office the first week of December 2024 and was delivered to me the first week of April 2025 completely ready to drive in the UK. So 4 months from collection to delivery with all necessary processes managed by My Car Import in the UK and their agents in the UAE. My car left in showroom condition and was delivered to me in the same condition. I was ablecto see every step via the My Car Import portal, including watching progress of my car as it sailed around Africa. Everything was professionally handled by the team with no unexpected additional costs from the original quote. All these things considered I am a very satisfied customer.

Car importing made easy
I bought a Peugeot J7 without history or registration documents, got in contact with Club Peugeot UK and they forwarded me on to MyCarImport, the process couldn't have been easier from that point through their interactive online portal and great customer service. Registered and on the road in next to no time for a great price. Genuinely don't bother trying to do it yourself, get these to do it.

Will not recommending to anyone
I shipped a car from Hong Kong to the UK through this company and had a disappointing experience that others should be aware of.
I received a quote in November 2024, which included a £995 Red Sea Diversion Surcharge. Before proceeding, I emailed them in early December to confirm that the price was still valid, and they confirmed it was. Based on that, I paid the deposit and moved forward.
However, once the car arrived in the UK, I was told I needed to pay an additional £700 due to “shipping cost increases.” This charge was never mentioned beforehand—not during quoting or the shipping process. It was only brought up once the car had already landed, leaving me with no real option but to pay in order to proceed.
I asked for proof of this charge and was told their accounts team was closed and that I’d receive an invoice the following week. That invoice was never sent.
Instead of focusing on the core issue, they commented on how I wrote my emails, suggesting I had used AI tools. For context, English isn’t my first language, and I used AI to help structure my responses clearly. The points I raised came from a lawyer friend, and I was hoping for a professional reply.
In one of their emails, they described the situation as a “zero-sum game.” Looking back, it felt exactly like that — I paid the full amount, received no proof of the charge, and was left with no transparency.
They later offered me a £150 discount on the delivery fee—but only if I agreed not to share any part of our conversation publicly. I chose to pay everything in full with no discount because I believe people deserve to know how this company operates and treats customers.
Lastly, before accepting their quote, I tried to read their terms and conditions — but the link led to a 404 “Page Not Found.” So when they later claimed that the charge was covered in their terms, I had never even been given access to read them.
The lack of transparency and professionalism throughout the process was extremely disappointing. I don’t recommend MyCarImport, especially if you’re shipping a car from overseas and expect clear communication and fair treatment.

In December when you accepted your quotation, we were correct to say that the quote was valid and you were OK to proceed on that basis. We had no knowledge of an impending shipping line rate increase that would come into play in the coming weeks and months.
Prior to acceptance and during the quote acceptance procedure, we strongly recommend reviewing our terms and conditions to check you are happy with some of the risks involved with shipping goods, and the liabilities you inherit, that may not be akin to a standard customer experience when buying everyday goods. From our correspondence it was evident that you had not checked this before becoming a customer. What has happened with your shipment is very rare, but it is still important to be aware as a customer of possible eventualities. We have checked our system and created a mock scenario, and access to terms and conditions are viewable before accepting and always available to you via your customer portal throughout the process.
Given the rate increase was unforeseen and happened during a period where shipping your car was irreversible, we had to pass on the smallest additional charge we could, even absorbing some of the rate increase ourselves to soften the blow.
Understandably, receiving further charges for a service during the process will never be warmly greeted by a customer and we were aware of that when notifying you, it's always going to reflect badly on us regardless of how well we explain the situation. Our correspondence was lengthy and we were making very little ground to a resolution with the use of AI for responses, hence why we asked if we could resolve matters and work towards an agreement instead.
It's tricky for a business when a proposed bad review of the company is used as a financial negotiation tool and whether the review is left or not hinges on what compromise is made, hence why we tried to agree on a resolution that did not involve this.
We're disappointed we couldn't come to a resolution that suited both parties on this occasion and you're entitled to voice your opinion of your experience with us. It is worth stating that other than this unfortunate circumstance in your import we conducted the process accurately and efficiently, in keeping with our initial proposal of events and actions. We have a high level of satisfaction from our customers, evidenced by a large proportion of positive reviews we receive.
We hope readers of this correspondence will see that Ryan's dissatisfaction was a result of one very unfortunate element of his shipment and not representative of the overall service our customers experience.
