Counseling itself:
1st counselor discouraged letting out emotions during the session related to a separation. That was a bit peculiar.

Moved onto a different counselor -
Unfortunately cut me off mid-story about a traumatic event that occurred in 2011 ( victim of a home invasion) I thought that was also peculiar, and well, messed up. Where else can I talk about this stuff? Let alone pay for it?

For $129 per additional session/s on top of the monthly, I would’ve expected it to be “The place” to be able to express and talk about these things, and in detail.

I asked for a copy of our recorded session to ensure I wasn’t reading the situation wrong (Although I know I didn’t - Being cut off and discouraged from continuing answering a direct question about past events was not me misreading the situation) — Was denied a copy of that session nonetheless, which are supposed to be a part of my records.

So far not a fan in comparison to quite literally, anywhere else. Even using the big name companies like BetterHelp. I would’ve expected so much more with this being Christian based counseling, especially given that my pastor encouraged finding a consistent Christian counselor vs. an unbeliever.

Counselors seem generally nice outside of these instances, but I end up leaving worse off than I was before the sessions. I’ve spent a lot of money on MyCounsoler so far, and I’m reluctant to return.

Counselor was good just spouse didn’t want to even attempt

I was lucky and had a great fit right off the bat. I was mostly impressed with the scripturally-based wisdom/approach that I knew these folks were genuine. I truly feel like these conversations were a game changer and helped me make great progress. I am also incredibly grateful for the practical skills/tools my counselor shared during our sessions.

Sarah has been so helpful in my bride and my relationship. We feel like we are back dating again!

The empathy, encouragement, and understanding I received from Megan was immeasurable and it was so very valuable to have someone that cared. I am only halting sessions due to exorbitant legal fees in which I must address first.

Gary is amazingly patient, insightful and helpful in not telling us the answers but skillfully helping us see new things and ways to grow. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

My geographical location, vocation, schedule, or season of life may change, but having access to great counseling does not. I love being able to continue sessions with Mary anytime, anyplace. I've been nearly a year into my sessions with her and have seen such great benefits to having my consistent sessions with her as she helps me navigate all life brings. I can't recommend MyCounselorOnline or Mary enough!

Sarah Cowan has been excellent for both my husband and myself collectively and individually. She creates a safe space to share really difficult things. She helps us to unpack specific moments and deal with it. Thankful for a great counselor who is thoughtful, curious, and caring.

She was awesome! I was a mess and she just listened and knew exactly what I was going through. After our first day she was willing to see me again the next day cuz I really needed it and recommended me to really good books and relaxation videos. She was super empathetic and helpful! ❤️
