My Doberman has been in with Beth since…

My Doberman has been in with Beth since 1/12, collected her today 19/12. Beth’s been sending updates with video & everything’s been great. Beth’s so obviously totally for the dog, my dog your dog she treats them like her own dogs. Mine wasn’t sure who to go with on leaving today lots of tail wags for Beth, I think I’m in the dog house. But my mind was at ease from start to finish so really looking forward to continuing the work Beth’s been doing at home. Fingers crossed I can make the transition as good as Beth’s work . Thank you for everything Beth it’s very much appreciated. Merry Christmas. Carol & Ava

My sprocker spaniel stayed with this…

ThatMy sprocker spaniel stayed with this company for 10 days training ,have to say how disappointing to get the dog back with no discernable change in any way shape or form.still barking constantly ,still pulling when attempting to take him for a walk.in actual fact it is like he just went and boarded with them for 10 days because he has learnt nothing .was told they would contact me to do some one to ones and haven't heard a dicky bird .all in all a very expensive lesson learned Edited to reply to say that you were not told the issues we were having is simply not true I told your trainer what we were hoping for which was to stop the constant barking, struggling to walk dog and also to stop him jumping up on people.we were also Not told that he would need more than ten days stay she only told me that she had informed her boss after having Dexter that spaniels would need at least 15 days stay . As for offering me one to ones at collection and then make no attempt to contact me until I wrote a review why would I then suddenly want to deal with you.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you feel disappointed and would like to clarify the timeline, scope of training, and support offered.

Your concerns were first raised directly with our trainer on the day this review was posted. She responded promptly, within 45 minutes, explaining the progress your dog made during his stay and offering continued support. Our office team also attempted to make contact by phone shortly afterwards to arrange follow-up one-to-one sessions. Despite multiple attempts within an hour of raising concerns this review was posted.

During collection, progress made during training was demonstrated in person. As explained at that time, behaviours such as barking are highly context-dependent and require further work with the owner present to reliably transfer into the home environment.

It is also important to clarify that your dog was booked onto a 10-day basic obedience course. We recommend our courses (outlined on our website) based on reliable and accurate information provided at the point of booking. More complex behavioural work, such as reactivity, requires a minimum of 15 days and was not included within this programme. However, despite this, and despite the additional behaviours not being disclosed at booking, our trainer offered to provide additional one-to-one sessions at no extra cost as a goodwill gesture to help cover the additional behaviour and support your dog’s transition home.

Unfortunately, no response was received to these offers before this review was posted, and subsequent attempts to make contact have gone unanswered.

We are disappointed that this review not only incorrectly states we haven’t attempted to contact you prior to the review to arrange one to one’s but was posted before receiving any direct response to our attempts or allowing us the opportunity to complete training and provide the continued support offered. We remain more than happy to assist with further one to one’s or provide the additional 5 days required should you wish to continue with further training.

Excitable 8 month old German Shepherd

Our 8 month old German Shepherd Sabre is very excitable and he was pulling and lunging on the lead. Beth has worked with him for 3 weeks, teaching him to be calm before putting his lead on and not to react to other dogs when out walking. She suggested a figure of 8 lead, which Sabre is getting used to and he walks so much better and no more lunging at cars or other dogs. We had updates every other day by text and video showing us his progress. The information pack that she sent to us to follow up with his training is very good.
He was very well cared for in his training and at the kennels.

Marvellous Maisie

Maisie has been excellent. She took time to understand our dog’s behaviour and needs. She’s really helped us to know what we need to do. There’s still lots of work to do: but we feel confident in our next steps and that we have great support on hand to help.

Highly recommend

We were a little nervous to drop our dog off for two weeks but we didn’t need to be. He had the best time and his trainer Maisie was amazing with him. As a big, strong excitable dog walking him could be a stressful experience. But after all the hard work Maisie put in he’s now thriving. After the strong foundation Maisie built with him and the follow up advice we’ve been given we feel confident in maintaining his training. The trainers are very knowledgeable and dedicated to what they do, highly recommend!

2 week stay

We dropped pickle off for a 2 week stay and Maisie was her trainer. Maisie was welcoming and put me at ease from the get go! She knew I was nervous about dropping our dog off somewhere new and she was so reassuring and helped me calm pickle down. Maisie kept us up to date every day with videos of pickles progress and answered any concerns I had while she was there. She kept her safe from other dogs when she was feeling frightened and overwhelmed, which was also great to see. Maisie knew how to tackle all of pickles problems and discovered what she needs to be mentally stimulated at home. Pickle has come home with a good understanding of what Maisie taught her and it was explained to us clearly so we can carry on the work she has done at home. I feel really hopeful that pickle will soon become the dog we knew she could be.
Thank you Maisie!!

Caitlin is amazing

Caitlin is amazing! We dropped Daphne off for 3 weeks and she has returned a lot calmer, less needy and definitely less vocal! The updates were great it was clear Daphne was enjoying herself and making progress. Caitlin has incredible energy, enthusiasm and a great sense of humour which was a joy to witness. Thank you so much!!! Very grateful 🙏

Great trainer

We were at our wits’ end with our two‑year‑old Border Collie, Merlin. His recall was practically non‑existent.

Merlin spent three weeks at the Southampton branch, where Beth was his trainer. He was extremely well cared for in the boarding kennels (highly recommended!), and we received regular video updates from Beth on his training progress.

Now that we’ve got Merlin back, his recall isn’t flawless every single time, but Beth has laid a solid foundation. With her guidance we’re continuing to build on it.

I would highly recommend this company—and Beth in particular—she worked wonders with Merlin.

Where would I begin.

Where would I begin.
I guess first of all, our dog is called Snoop-dog, he is a cane corso/Staffordshire bull terrier, he was 47kg of pure nerves and fear.
He absolutely hated other dogs and he only liked people in our house, but once we were outside he was a completely different dog.
Constantly barking/growling, and pulling so hard he was choking himself.
I myself could not walk snoop and my fiancé Michael who is extremely stronger had problems walking snoop too.
It got so bad that he managed to pull me so hard that he dislocated my shoulder and ripped my shoulder muscles,
It was such a shame because snoopdog is such a loving boy but we couldn’t control him.
Then we found my dogs trainer on the internet and looked into it a little more, my partner called them and spoke to a lovely lady called Beth, Michael was very happy with the information and really wanted to try, I myself was a little hesitant, it felt like we were giving up on him.
We were very worried and nervous about leaving our uncontrollable dog with strangers but we were at our wits end.
Then the day came were we had to leave our little boy there and we were so upset and scared with what could happen,
We arrived at the most beautiful and peaceful place hid away from traffic and other dangers.
Our wonderful trainer Beth met us outside and made us feel very welcome,
We booked snoopdog in and then started to explain our situation with his behaviour,
Unbelievably 5 minutes after being with Beth snoop was completely relaxed and fine with her, we talked for over an hour about snoop and Beth was so understanding and patient with us, we were very happy to leave him with her.
We got daily updates and nothing was to much trouble for Beth, if we had questions, she would respond back straight away if we wanted to talk to her it was no problem for her to talk to us, we got videos sent to us and snoop seemed so happy and was walking like a model dog, and the after care we got when we brought him home is absolutely amazing and extremely helpful,
Beth has a genuine heart and insight with dogs and only wants the best for the dogs and their owners.
We just can’t recommend Beth enough, she took a scared nervous uncontrollable dog and gave us a loving confident friendly family member.
We would definitely recommend my dogs trainer centres to anyone and would highly recommend Beth as the dogs trainer.

We started with a bit of a bump but great training achieved.

We started with a bit of a bump due to unforeseen circumstances but Paul and his team resolved the situation with great grace.
Lucie my Springer Spaniel puppy has just completed the 2 week residential training program in Surrey.
Thanks to Maisie she is now so much easier to walk to heal and stays focused — it’s made such a difference!
Maisie was absolutely fantastic throughout — friendly, professional, patient, and above all, clearly passionate about the dogs in her care.
To relieve any worries about leaving Lucie, she set up a What’Sapp group and kept us updated every day with texts and videos, it was great to see how much Lucie had improved.

The handover process could have been better although it was ok and of course Maisie gives you confidence. But the state of the Kennels and the meet and greet shed are all a bit grubby and scruffy which didn’t make you feel comfortable about leaving your dog there as you don’t get shown where they will stay so I would kindly suggest this needs to be reviewed, it would be really helpful when leaving your beloved dog there. This is why I dropped a star, please look into this as the my dog team overall are great it’s a shame this lets you down.

When I picked Lucie up, Maisie spent a full hour with me showing me everything Lucie had learned, explaining lead use, and giving really helpful advice on behaviours to watch for.
Maisie has been brilliant providing a written plan and additional information. Her knowledge, care, and dedication really shine through. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a professional and caring dog trainer!

Hi Jane,

Thank you so much for your lovely review, and for your incredibly kind words about Maisie, she’ll be over the moon to read this. We’re really pleased to hear how well Lucie did over her stay and that the updates, videos, and handover helped you feel confident continuing her training at home.

We also really appreciate your feedback regarding the kennels and meet and greet area. We completely understand that kennel environments can feel a little different or unfamiliar, especially for owners who haven’t used kennels before. Even though the spaces are cleaned and disinfected multiple times a day and designed with the dogs’ comfort and safety in mind, they naturally feel slightly different than a home setting.

That being said, peace of mind is incredibly important to us, which is why we encourage owners to visit beforehand. Seeing where your dog will stay, meeting the trainer, and getting a feel for the environment can make a huge difference, and we’re always happy to arrange that on request. We’re continually reviewing the facilities we partner with too, and your feedback is genuinely helpful.

Thank you again for trusting us with Lucie, she was such a joy to have on the programme, and we’re so glad her progress has made life easier at home.

If you need any help or support in future please do get back in touch!🤗

Warm regards,
The My Dogs Trainer Team

This is my email that I sent to them following my experience. My baby went to Oxford on the 28th October till the 8th November 2025

Good evening
I can't thank you enough for the care that Orla received.

Being home is definitely a struggle especially with recall, as she is so distracted just in the garden, don't dare take her anywhere else.

Loose lead walking is so good, she is doing really well. In the day she is very distracted by birds so her interest is short, so we just do about 10-15mins. However, at night she is brilliant and we can go nearly 30mins.

Initially I had reservations as I read negative reviews but I reassured before I even went that they would love and care for my baby.

I had regular updates and videos and I am so so happy and grateful for their help.

Highly recommend Maisie at My Dogs Trainer …

I can’t recommend Maisie at My Dogs Trainer highly enough! My puppy, Stella, completed the 5-day residential training program and has learned so much. She’s now so much easier to walk, follows commands, and stays focused — it’s made such a difference!

Maisie was absolutely fantastic throughout — friendly, professional, patient, and above all, clearly passionate about the dogs in her care. She kept me updated every day with texts and videos, and it was lovely to see how happy and engaged Stella looked.

The handover process was smooth and relaxed, which really helped when leaving Stella there. When we picked her up, Maisie spent a full hour with me and my son, showing us the commands Stella had learned, explaining lead use, and giving really helpful advice on behaviours to watch for. She was wonderfully patient with my son, who has ADHD, and made the whole experience positive and supportive.

Since the residential stay, Maisie has provided a written plan so we can continue reinforcing Stella’s new skills and build on them further. She’s also been readily available by text, always happy to answer questions and offer advice.

All in all, it’s been an excellent experience from start to finish — Maisie’s knowledge, care, and dedication really shine through. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a professional and caring dog trainer!

We sent our staffy Ralph in quite…

We sent our staffy Ralph in quite anxious and reactive to other dogs on walks. He’s always been so sweet and loving but never listened on the lead or his recall. He spent a couple of weeks with Beth, who throughout was so patient and good with him. He quickly responded to her prompts and teaching, weekly we saw huge progress. Walks are now more enjoyable with new commands he listens to. Thank you so much Beth and everyone at MyDogsTrainer. Beth is great and a godsend!

He used to be anxious and had terrible recall, but she’s given him so much confidence and it’s made life so much easier. Beth has worked wonders with my 5-year-old Staffy and I’m so grateful for all her help! Thank you so much Beth, appreciate everything you have done!

My Miniature Pincher Penny

My Dog Penny, had an amazing trainer called Maisie. Before Penny attended the training, she use to jump up on people, after training she no longer jumps on people and children, my dog listen to my commands, she walks heel to heel with me and no longer crosses over me when we go for walks .I highly recommend this company, for training your dog.

Maisie is excellent… Service needs reviewing!

We took our Stanley (Working Cocker Spaniel) for 2 weeks training with Maisie. We discussed what his training needs were and what behaviours we needed some help with. Maisie was really lovely and friendly set up a WhatsApp group and gave us daily updates on Stanley’s progress and videos of parts of the training sessions. When we collected Stanley Maisie spent an hour showing us what he had learned and how we could continue once home to reinforce the training. We have to say, Maisie is a credit to the company and her profession.

However, what is extremely disappointing is to find out that despite spending nearly £1.5k on a 12 day course, you’re met in a shed, a quick chat, then your dog is taken away. The very least we expected was to see where our beloved Stan would be staying and the facilities and conditions he would be kept in. We got no such thing. It appears that the blanket and toys we were asked to bring remained unused, especially as when we picked him up, some of his stuff was missing and had to be “found”.

Great training, cannot fault Maisie, but the company needs to pay more attention to its paying clients who are placing their beloved pets into the hands of strangers, at great expense. We would like to suggest an urgent review of the handover experience.

Hi Liane!

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback about Maisie, she’ll be over the moon to hear how much you appreciated her updates and all the work she did with Stanley! He really was such a sweetheart to have on the program. 🐾

We’re so sorry to hear you felt a little disappointed with the drop-off experience. Just to clarify, the “shed” is a purpose built reception office where all handovers take place to keep things calm and comfortable for the dogs. We’ve found it’s far less stressful for them when our team walk them through to the kennels, rather than owners having to leave them directly. It ensures a happier experience for the dog.

We’re always more than happy to show owners around the kennels beforehand if they’d like to see where their dog will be staying and many clients choose to view the kennels in advance of their booking which is something we can always arrange on request.

As for Stanley’s belongings, we completely understand how important they are. Sometimes we’ll use our own bedding if the items brought in aren’t suitable for kennels, but everything is always kept safe and returned at collection.

Thank you again for your feedback and kind words, it really does mean a lot to us and helps us keep improving every part of the experience. Give Stanley a cuddle from all of us! 💛

Hi John,

We’re really sorry to hear you feel disappointed.
The feedback you require was a full and detailed handover that was sent to you immediately after your dog’s stay, and our trainer has since followed up to resend it for you. We still haven’t had a response from you which of course makes it difficult to continue and complete training.

Our residential program also includes 12 weeks of aftercare support to help you continue the training at home, as it’s normal for some dogs, especially high drive working breeds, to need a little time and consistency to adjust after returning home.
Your dog has only been home for one week, so it’s still very early in the process and why we include and recommend utilising the support following the stay especially within the first week, to ensure a smooth transition.

We’re always happy to support our clients and would really encourage you to get back in touch so we can help guide you through the settling-in period and make sure you get the best results from the training.

Kind regards
The My Dogs Trainer Team
