I never knew this was even possible. I'm moving in deposit free and couldn't be happier! It's 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and the government has shutdown, paying the deposit would have made my Holiday... See more

I applied to avoid being charged a huge deposit fee and I was waived the whole deposit! This helped me out so mi h for all my moving out expenses. Def recommended!
Super smooth and great service
Super smooth and great service. Saved me a couple of thousand dollars
Disappointed
The first time I used it, I had two charges that we itemized and so I put in the 1st charge and it closed the whole deposit accounting out and I was not allowed to add in the 2nd charge. Nowhere did is say please take all itemized charged and just enter in the whole amount due. Then after several attempts I could not get ahold of anyone. When I did, Roberto did not resolve the problem. He dismissed me and the problem is still outstanding.

Do not use this service
Do not use this service. The account holder is the landlord, not you. If your landlord does not close your account you will be eternally charged monthly fees. I contacted them several times after I moved out and they refused to close and kept charging me.
It wasn't until I worked with my CC company and have them blocked that the finally agreed to close the account.
Obligo is an unethical company and takes advantage of disabled people
If there was an option for zero or negative stars, I would give them this. I was forced to leave my apartment in NYC in March 2021 bc I had months of mice issues that the landlord was not able to fix. Look up my google review of Stonehenge in NYC and you’ll see photos of the mice.
Note I rented during covid when most renters weren’t paying rent and I continued to pay rent to my landlord as I tried to be an honest person.
Well, when I was forced to flee the apartment for safety issues (not only for me but bc of of the danger mice and mice feces presented for my service dog) bc it wasnt habitable. After I left, the landlord told Obligo that I left and obligo then charged me. Obligo never contacted me first to see what happened. They have been harassing me for a year and a half and even took money out of a joint checking account I have with someone else….without permission.
Super sick of big NYC companies bullying disabled persons who tried to do the right thing.
Useless
As someone with near perfect credit who typically wouldn’t even get a security deposit, their service has been frustrating to say the least. I even wrote my landlord saying that I would pay any deposit to stop dealing with them. They are too stupid to charge a card and keep saying the payments failed. When I tell them to use the card that worked last time, they are too brain dead to do that. I work 12 hour days every day and do not have time for this BS scam. Useless as a company unless you have poor or no credit and don’t want a big deposit. If your credit is good, make sure your landlord doesn’t lead you to sign up for this service, and opt for a deposit based off of your credit and rental history instead, it will save you a lot of headache.
User-friendly for a new payer.

Great Value
We just rented a new apartment in NYC. I was about to pay the security deposit with our 1st month rent, and the leasing agent told us we could see if we were eligible for the deposit-free option with Obligo. It only took 5 minutes to apply, they connected straight to our bank account to verify the info. The whole process was super easy and quick. I was skeptical at the beginning because I don’t like wasting money that I won’t get back, but it ended up being just a few dollars a month and we did pay the year upfront and saved another 12% on top of that ... we highly recommend it!

First time I used Obligo
First time I used Obligo. They were great so easy to use. Similar to checking into a hotel. Highly recommend
Quick & Easy!
Obligo was quick and easy to use. My husband and I make decent money, but struggled with the idea of putting over $3k down as a deposit on a rental house since we don’t have a huge savings account. Obligo approved us within minutes for no deposit. You do have to pay quite a service fee (ours was nearly $500) but that made the most sense for our situation. It may not be for everyone, but if you don’t have a large savings account built up, this is a huge help!

Using obligo allows me to not worry about the deposit of the house knowing that my money is safe, the sign in is very easy and user friendly, they give you a lot of information and explain it all, starting with a video what makes it very easy for first time users

Excellent service
I have no issues while completing my application. I look forward to enjoying the services they are providing. Thank you so much for the help.
I couldn’t believe it
I couldn’t believe it that I didn’t have to give my deposit to lock it in bank for a year!
great idea to let renters keep deposit money and only charge you if you made any damages when you leave!
Love it! I will recommend it to all my friends
