Piece of Cake just moved me from SC to MI.FABULOUS every step of the way . I actually booked my move last January, paid a deposit ( received a discount for leaving a deposit and was able to lock in my rate . IAN in the office scheduled everything with me . Initially I did not know my moving date until 3 weeks before the move. Ian answered every call and email within minutes ! His customer service was excellent. Thorough, polite, provided all the information necessary .
My moving team showed up yesterday in SC on time as scheduled. Michael and Nicolai are the best . Professionally dressed in uniform shirts . Friendly , hard working, meticulous and packing skills were awesome. Everything carefully wrapped and handled . No supervision needed . We went over the house when they arrived , gave them my plan where I wanted everything in my new house , and I sat back to enjoy my coffee. They were efficient and worked hard. After leaving here they delivered to my new home in 26 hours . 880 miles.
Once again, on time with ETA. Unloaded and unwrapped with efficiency and TLC. Placed furniture and containers as directed. Very nice team .

If you’re moving across state lines, or even across the street-I cannot recommend Piece of Cake enough. I moved from New York to Florida and they made the process so easy for

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. The moving crew was poorly trained, unfriendly, impatient, and careless with my belongings. I was especially disappointed by the lack of care they showed when handling my valuable artwork.
They also lost the screws needed to reassemble my dining table after taking it apart to move it from my house to my new condo. When I contacted the company, they refused to take responsibility or offer a solution.
I expected a much higher level of professionalism and accountability. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

My experience with A Piece of Cake…
My experience with A Piece of Cake Moving and Storage was extremely disappointing.
During my move, I repeatedly instructed the movers on the proper way to disassemble a specialty chair worth over $7,000. I specifically explained that the chair should only be separated into two pieces. Instead, the movers ignored my instructions and completely dismantled it to the bare bones.
As a result, the chair was damaged during reassembly and no longer functions as it did before the move. A chair of this value should have been handled with far greater care, especially after clear instructions were provided. As a veteran who suffers from PTSD and chronic pain I need to use the chair on a regular basis some weeks its every day and since the move I have not had the use of my chair.
What has been even more frustrating than the damage itself is the company's response. Rather than acknowledging that their employees disregarded my instructions and accepting responsibility for the resulting damage, the company has focused on explaining that it is "following the law" regarding its claims process. While companies certainly have legal obligations, hiding behind legal language does not address the fact that customer property was damaged after employees failed to follow explicit handling instructions.
Accidents can happen during a move. What separates a reputable company from a poor one is how it responds afterward. In my case, I experienced damaged property, a lack of accountability, and a customer service experience that left me feeling dismissed rather than supported.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend A Piece of Cake Moving and Storage, particularly if you have valuable or specialized furniture that requires careful handling and attention to customer instructions.

Patrick and his crew made it perfect
Patrick and his crew arrived right on time and packed all the furniture and the TV thoroughly before loading the boxes through the service elevator. The unloading was just as efficient. At the destination, the service elevator was out of order, so they had to use the passenger elevator, which took longer—but they handled it without a single complaint. They reassembled all the furniture perfectly and placed every box in the correct room. Very professional. I’ve used them twice now and will definitely use them again.

They were on-time. We didn't have much furniture, since we aren't wealthy they tossed our stuff around. This resulted in a broken guitar amp, and a broken vanity. Instead of asking if they could take the top half of the vanity apart, they literally ripped the top half off. Seriously broke it into 2 pieces. Unfortunately, I was busy moving other stuff, I did not see it until they had left. In case you are wondering, yes I tipped ($50each). Maybe that wasn't enough,but I didn't have more. We moved after losing my job. I also helped unload and empty everything we moved.

After not having a great experience, as soon as the management team found out, they reached out to me. IRENE TSELINSKI | CUSTOMER SUCCESS COORDINATOR contacted me and was amazingly polite and professional. She was able to send me a refund to replace the broken furniture. I did not expect this type of service from any company. My opinion has totally changed and I would recommend using them, especially after the way they followed up with me.
