awful job! there should be a choice of no star at…

there should be a choice of no star at all! recent experienced from Nov 19 until now my radiator problems not been settled! I have to call both insurance and them to ff up as they don’t really communicate properly to their client! We’ve bern suffering with cold bedrooms until now! The engineer don’t communicate properly she always calling her boss and unable to fix the problem just checking the boiler alone and keep changing parts inside our boiler and still not functioning the radiators but underfloor heating and hot water is not affected at all! Yesterday they said they will coming to install the parts they thought will fix the problems but they cancelled last minute to tell us the engineer was ill! They very unprofessional due to it I would move insurance as their service is awful this is home emergency problems they cannot fix for 9 days ! Now Im trying to cancel them as I found a gas engineer which telling me they diagnosed my boiler wrong the parts they ordered are not problems.!

Waited 24hrs for a call back bearing in mind it was an “Emergency” … still waiting for the call!

I would never recommend these guys to anyone & if your insurance company puts you this way… I’d strongly advise to find an alternative!

Unprofessional

I've had two experiences with MySedgewick both for a leaky toilet under emergency home insurance. The first time the guy turned up without his tools and spent 1 minute in the house before saying I needed a drainage person. The drainage person was very apologetic and was very confused as it was clearly a leaking pipe. The plumber came back and changed a part but didn't turn the water back on to see it is was fixed. It wasn't so they needed to come back again to fix again (that's four days of staying at home).

The next time I had a leak in a downstairs toilet. They came to fix it but it started leaking again the next day so called them back out. They didn't turn up on the day they organised which was 4 days. A week later they rang to organise another callout which again the didn't turn up to. I'm now cancelling my policy with Policy Expert because they use MySedgewick.

Emergency Home Cover - Disgraceful

Came to Sedgwick via Admiral Gold emergency home cover for a broken boiler, initially an engineer came out within the day, spent around 5 minutes (that is being generous) without looking in the boiler which had stopped working stating it needed a part and left. Days go by, after 5 days with no call I rang Sedgwick who said the issue was waiting for an invoice to be paid, only to receive messages that the case was now closed! After calling Admiral and Sedgwick another engineer came now a week after the problem was first reported, the second engineer then said alternate parts were broken and was unsure if the policy would cover the repairs. 11 days later receive a message to call them only to be to be told by Admiral we won't cover the repairs because it's a "maintenance issue". Terrible - terrible communication and conduct from Sedgwick and Admiral, no records of the 'parts ordered from initial visit and now I've been left without heating or hot water for nearly two weeks and now for the forseeable future. Do NOT set any faith in these people or Admiral emergency cover to help, you will be left wanting, the level of negative reviews and lack of response to them on this forum is telling.
I must give credit to the second engineer who attended, he was friendly professional and took the time to do his job properly - and some of this issue lies with Admiral's hidden policies - however it does not excuse Sedgwicks 1st engineer providing false reports of their work and their adminstrative processes being negligible - yet still presumably invoicing the insurer.

They simply ignore you

I wouldn't recommend this company, they don't respond to the portal, emails or phone calls. Whilst advisors have been very polite nothing has moved since I submitted my claim. It's not closed or denied, just nothing.

Keep away

I've complained to Sedgwick's about a call out fee I was charged of £155 + vat and how can this be justified.
Their response was they see nothing wrong with charging this amount in thier calculations albeit they never mention this when calling for assistance through Admiral home care cover
Keep away from both parties and find your own engineer.!!!

Highly Recommended

I got a leaking (dripping) tap in the kitchen. It is not an emergent issue, but the plumber arrived on the same day I called. The plumber is professional. From his visit, I learnt that changing a cartridge seems to be simple, but actually it is complicated, as there are so many sizes of cartridges. My preparation to know the brand and the make of the tap prior to the visit would have saved him a visit and saved me time to have it repaired. Highly recommended!

I had nothing but a positive experience so far. Last night they really helped me and my family out as we had been locked out of our home late at night. Locksmith (Vijay) attended and within no time got us back into our home, and changed our lock for us too.

Thank you.

Dreadful service

I had storm damage to the roof where three large ridge tiles came down and some slates. Contacted my emergency home cover and explained what happened to the damage.
Was given a claim number from Mysedgwick and an engineer would call. This was on 25/1.
Roofing company arrived on 6/2
Looked at roof, took pictures, only went onto flat roof and didn't examine damage. Asked me if water had got into the property, which I couldn't confirm.
Told me he would contact insurers and if ok would return and replace the ridge tiles and slates.
Received a message to say claim had been finalised although no work done.
Contacted, who I think was my Sedgwick, and spoke to a Welsh sounding gent who said that home emergency cover only covered a TEMPORARY repair and if the tiles were replaced that would be a PERMANENT repair. So not a thing done to make the damage good.
Told him nothing was done and his reply was that a tarpaulin was the only thing to put over the damage but wouldn't be practical as it would blow away.
Wonder how much the roofer quoted to my Sedgwick to have NO work done and what my Sedgwick charged my Insurance company.
Still have no repair done.
Will inform my insurance company of the questionable service of MySedgwick.

Utter incompetence

Stupidly I drilled through a gas pipe in the kitchen whilst putting a bracket up. I shut the gas off and called the emergency line and a gas engineers was sent from a national gas company they capped the gas metre and made it safe. What an idiot I am but then I thought I have insurance to protect me from my idiocy.

I called my insurer who put me onto Sedgwick. I explained the situation to them in that the mains was capped and I'd drilled a hole in a gas pipe in the wall and they said they'd call me within 30 mins with a appointment time. They didn't. Oh and I paid them £25 excess.

Next morning to be fair they called me at 0900 and said they'll send someone out Monday between 0900 and 1700 so I took the day off work after being told they'll call when they're 30 mins away. Didn't hear a thing I called up at 1500 as I was getting nervous and was told they'll definitely be in touch before 1700 they weren't. Called again around 1710 and was told they'd chase it up. Engineer arrived at 2000. Took one look at the hole I'd drilled and said " I can't fix that its behind a wall." It was at this point I waited for ant and dec to pop out.

I called them back and they said "oh we don't do pipework behind walls." Fantastic. 3 day wait for absolutely nothing they could have told me this on the first phone call. There's two kids in the house and my wife is due to give birth next week. I give up with this company I'm just going to pay for the work myself.

I complained to the call handler and she said well you musnt have mentioned it when you called up. How could I not have mentioned it when it was literally what I was calling up about. Of course it's behind bricks when I say "I've drilled through the wall and hit a gas pipe." Who goes accidentally drilling holes through visible gas pipes?

I wouldn't trust this company to organize the pulling of a Christmas cracker.

Avoid this company if you can

Had to claim on my Home Emergency Insurance policy and was transferred to this company in relation to an electrical fault at my home. The initial contact seemed good with an engineer call-out the same day. The fault was diagnosed quickly as a faulty RCD. The electrician then left, saying he needed authority to complete the repair. That was over a week ago and I still have no repair. I am still without electricity to a large part of my house. No contact from Sedgwick unless I call them. I am then fobbed off with the ”I’ll chase it up”. The cost of the part must be only a few pounds and a very quick fix for an electrician. I have been told that it can take up to 5 days to get a part that is readily available at multiple high street suppliers. How can this be? If you have the choice, do not use this company.

Started bad but ended good

Overall I am givng 5 stars, although at the beginning I had terrible problems, it was an emergency breakdown, my boiler had failed on 29th December. Couldn't get hold of my usual heating engineer as understandably he was on holiday. So I went with their engineer, after a week I still had no idea when it would be fixed. I couldn't get an update on that so I contacted my engineer again on 6th Jan, he repaired my boiler same day. My Sedgwick gave me no hassle in changing my claim this way and after submitting the bill I had paid to my engineer along with my last service record I was in receipt of my refund within a couple of days, so the moral of the story is, try to use your own contractor if possible as it's a lot simpler and quicker that way. Many thanks for my cover and reimbursing me without delays.

Absolutely dreadful

Absolutely dreadful.

Home Emergency cover with Admiral provided by these guys and they simply lie to you when you call them to arrange the works.

Despite being vulnerable and with young children they repeatedly lied to me that they had organised a contractor to restore heat and hot water. They had not and no one turned up for 3 days. In the end I had to book with British Gas and bring a claim against Sedgwick.

I have been dealing with them for…

I have been dealing with them for approximately 2 years now. My recovery process has been extended and much more difficult after dealing w them. It has been awful. It makes me feel like my employer doesn't really care about me since they use Sedgwick. The website only works about 50% of the time and only about 30% of the time on my phone. My reviewer has not been tending to the timelines that have been listed and there has been so much miscommunication AND a lack of communication, which has resulted in me losing two and a half checks while my medical bills pile up. I have not been able to get a supervisor to call me back. There are lots of horrible reviews on Reddit as well.
