I think that the fact you can get things for sale is very important, but I think you should be able to adapt your notifications so you only get notifications for things you are interested to.

There are loads of offers really easy to access, I've never had any problems or complaints. It is also very convenient as Student ID in many places, like in Holland and Barrett today.
