My experience began with a phone call. Mindee answered. What followed was one of the best "first-contact" phone calls I've ever had. Personable, helpful, cordial, and knowledgeable, Mindee told me everything I needed to know. I told her I was especially glad to see ND Assessments was independent of any class-time instruction. That sold me, as an unbiased assessment is key to what follows, should classes be necessary/recommended. Finally, the interview was both thorough and professional. Trevor was extremely cordial and patient during the interview. He took the time to provide the context for his questions, making his questions a breeze to understand. I highly recommend anyone seeking a professional assessment turn to ND Assessments - they will not be disappointed.

So I found ND online due to the fact that going into a drug/alcohol center could b detrimental to my health. Alot of people in my area have exposed wounds & I can't afford to get what they've got as I'm VRSA MRSA. Not to mention I dont have a license to drive any where. So ND just seemed to be the right way to go. It was costly but I've got a mother that loves me & pd for it. Lane was great to work with, I give him 10 stars. If any of you are looking for a non judgemental assessment for courts or DOL for re-enstaement of your license I highly recommend ND. If

I cannot recommend this service whatsoever due to the negative experience I had with this company (upon which I will elaborate further after first explaining the fact that I am rewriting this review after having spoken to Brian Davis, Director of Assessments at New Directions Assessments, who clarified some things for me and has offered a full refund.)

The assessment was rather disheartening in the end because while the person doing the assessment seemed to feign an understanding of my situation and circumstances somewhat well, the results appeared as if they didn't know me from the town drunk even though I don't drink anymore (especially not in the USA since its a police state.)

I followed up with Brian as I mentioned initially in this review and he was rather pleasant to speak with considering the circumstances. You could tell that he authentically cares about people's experience, but unfortunately this is something that is not always in his control since I don't want to get to into the nitty gritty of my opinion(s) on scientific interpretation of data and/or the textbook definitions of certain things (which are constantly evolving as we can see exemplified by the fact that I wrote my Senators and Congressman at age 14 to legalize cannabis for medical use which the government later did and included my condition as one of the relatively few qualifying medical disorders permitted to have such recommended) because this is where matters turn political and money changing hands means more than truth and honesty in the realm of scientific study (remember cannabis was first made illegal through racist propaganda in large part; funded by who/whom? Hmm.) I am being extremely vague I know, but if I turn this political or get into the science/psychology/sociology/cultural differences between where this occurred and the lifestyle/culture that I embrace and was just returning to the USA from, it detracts from my original point of writing the review. Just know that when I spoke with Brian he pointed out that the person doing the assessment had taken a very cold and scientific approach to the matter based on his knowledge and interpretation(s) of the matter at hand, and since this is something I have been guilty of my own self when I was growing up I can understand what it is like to have this Achilles heel so I forgive him. Back on track, don't expect a lot of your personal life to be factored into things necessarily depending on who you get as this doesn't factor in a lot of those as much as it does observing you like a specimen the way things are depicted.

So, all in all, while I had a miserable experience (oh, and did I mention the report was received two days after it was promised as well? there goes another point off for them lol) I can confirm that Brian is really trying his best to run a great service within his limitations. Mind you that I am re-writing this after having been promised a refund which is much deserved for having had my precious time wasted on such ridiculousness when I could have just taken a bit of time off work to see someone in person who would have been much more personable and realistic about taking me on as aa client. I was originally very upset, and I am still not very pleased thus the reason this gets a 1/5 despite a lot of it having to do with a corrupt medical industry and government. But, at the end of the day, I will say that Brian is honest and wants the best for people. I still don't trust anyone after what all I have been through in life though, so if my refund doesn't get processed then the review will be changed to reflect this as well. But, I have a feeling in my gut that the refund will go through just fine.

P.S. I also am curious as to how he deduced it was I who had made the review though (maybe the Denmark geolocation tag gave it away considering that's where I just returned to the USA from where the drinking age is 16 and you even get served it in school because it's so acceptable socially speaking, cars are not popular, public transportation is AMAZING, life is BEAUTIFUL and everyone is treated relatively fairly and justly, and while the politicians may not be favored at least the system actually works to get the right people in office and you always have your voice heard whether or not the one in charge takes action on it) but regardless Brian definitely went the extra mile to make sure his customer was genuinely looked after!
Honestly, the reason I include this aspect is because the USA is like a foreign country to me (its rules and customs make no sense and never have,) and having had an Uber driver back in December from Puerto Rico tell me a similar story as to how she got her DUI when she first moved here I think it emphasizes how these assessments need to be more personalized to factor in such things.

So I had a really old DUI case that I never got taken care of when I lived in South Carolina. I had moved to another state and finally wanted to get it taken care of. The problem was I need a drug and alcohol assessment. After a lengthy search I found New Directions. I was skeptical at first. You never know when you're dealing with online services. So I paid the fee and contacted Kym at New Directions. I told her that the court would only accept the assessment in a zoom meeting form, not online. She was very understanding and accommodating. She set up my zoom meeting with Michael a certified addiction counselor. The process was very quick and professional. With the help of New Directions I now have my license back. A special thanks to New Directions, Kym and Micheal. It's nice to have my license back and the freedom to drive again. -Rob

I am so pleased that I chose ND Assessments. The entire staff was professional and courteous, and understood exactly what I needed. Working with Lane relieved any anxiety I was feeling. I highly recommend this organization to anyone needing to fulfill a required assessment for the Court.

I worked with Carla. She explained everything to me very thoroughly. She was able to answer all the questions I had. Overall she made it a quick and easy process.

I first spoke with James in Florida and he was great everything was so simple and quick. Then I called in to make a assessment appointment and the girl from Kansas was very kind and I take my assessment tomorrow. I hope that will be just as pleasant.

James, amazing guy. Reached out to me every week until i was able to start my program. Very easy to get ahold of. Easy process. Ty James for helping during this difficult time.

I spoke with Mike to schedule a court ordered assessment. He was kind, efficient, and a pleasant person to talk to. He was able to get it scheduled for the same week and answered all of my questions! Thanks Mike!

I definitely recommend this place they are amazing at what they do and very kind hearted my experience was very worth it god bless the people that work there this was very helpful

Trevor called me on time and completed the assessment Tuesday and stated he’d complete the assessment in a few days but I haven’t received anything. I called him twice and left a message and still no response. I did receive an email from someone at the center who stated they were reaching out to Trevor so hopefully I’ll get my assessment very soon. Trevor was thorough and understanding during the assessment so I am hopeful that I’ll receive my assessment very soon.

Took a little while to get connected but when I was connected I was treated with professionalism and finished in a timely manner.

Well, the jury is still out, but James who I spoke to originally was pleasant and informed me of the process. Can’t remember the woman’s name. I talked to on the phone, but she was also very pleasant.Filled out my questionnaire made my phone call waiting to do my assessment with Matthew hoping everything goes well.
