I rented through Neptune Homes for several years and would not recommend them based on my experience.

A major issue throughout the tenancy was a leaking kitchen ceiling which was reported repeatedly over a number of years. Despite numerous reports, the problem remained unresolved and the ceiling continued to leak whenever it rained.

The tenancy swap process was also problematic. Incoming and outgoing tenants were required to navigate a confusing system of deposit contributions and tenancy changes, while concerns remained over ongoing liability for rent and the conditions required before tenants could be released from the tenancy.

The most concerning issue arose at the end of the tenancy when attempting to reconcile the deposit. After reviewing payment records, deposit certificates and correspondence, there appeared to be discrepancies between the sums paid by tenants, the amounts requested by Neptune and the amount ultimately protected and returned.

Particularly concerning was Neptune's position that they do not keep records showing individual deposit contributions between incoming and outgoing tenants. This made it extremely difficult to establish who had paid what and how deposit figures had been calculated. In my view, this is basic information that should be maintained when managing tenancy swaps and deposit transfers.

There were also issues with record keeping more generally. Inventory information from the start of the tenancy was either unavailable or incomplete, making it difficult for tenants to determine the original condition of the property and ownership of items left in the house over the years.

Overall, communication was poor, long-standing maintenance issues remained unresolved, and significant time and effort was required from tenants to obtain information regarding the tenancy and deposit. I would strongly advise prospective tenants to keep detailed records of all payments, correspondence and tenancy documents.

Great Living Experience

I rented with Neptune Homes in London for two years and was very happy with the service they provided. Communication was easy and smooth and whenever I had an issue it was always fixed. Perhaps could be more prompt when fixing maintenance issues but overall I was very comfortable there.

*** I was a tenant with Neptune Homes for a few years. While there were some aspects that went smoothly, overall my experience was mixed. I genuinely felt like home during my time at the property.

Communication could have been better - at times it was difficult to get timely responses, especially when it came to maintenance issues. The move-in process was relatively straightforward, otherwise, I think there’s room for improvements in terms of tenant support and responsiveness. :)

DO NOT RENT WITH THESE PEOPLE THEY SUCK, THEY ARE THE WORST AND I HAD TO LEAVE MY HOUSE CUS THEY WOULDN'T COME AN FIX THE MOULD I HAD IN THE ROOM BECAUSE I WANTED TO AVOID GETTING SICK - a v o i d at all costs. They will only reply when they want to get the money of the rent and they did not give me my deposit back - AVOID THESE SCAMMERS F****** AT ALL COSTS.

Do NOT rent here! SCAM BEHAVIOR! I applied to an apartment and sent them numerous emails checking in with them about the application and they were not responsive at all! Only when I withdrew my application did they finally respond to me. They were acting very odd about my guarantor and sending me a link to an online service for a guarantor because of a typo? I asked them multiple times over email if everything was going well and I only get a response when I withdraw?? They said I could continue with them with my original Guarantor if I restarted the guarantor process with my university, but why would I want to continue with an agency that is so terrible at responding and acting so shady? Not the sort of Landlord I would want! I was approaching less than 4 days until I needed a place badly, I couldn’t risk them ghosting me again! They refuse to refund my holding deposit so I lost $500!

Dear Monika, just replying to your comments above, your flat had its own meter and you were billed according to your electric usage. You only used to pay after full usage breakdown were presented to you. This has always been the case since you moved in. We even offered to arrange for you to meet your landlord and discuss your bills. You never did. You left the property with rental arrears and unpaid electric bill. Your length of tenancy about 3 years justifies clearly you wouldn't stay at the property if your comments were true. You disputed the deposit deduction to cover the rental arrears and unpaid bill. The matter was decided by adjudication and your landlord was awarded full deposit. I think this clarifies the whole situation. Wishing you all the best!

Great experience

We've had a great experience renting through Neptune homes over the past year. From the start, they were professional, transparent, and always responsive to our needs. Any questions or issues we had were promptly addressed, and we truly felt they were committed to making our tenancy comfortable and stress-free.

What stood out the most was how smooth the end-of-tenancy process was. Our deposit was returned in full without any delays or issues.

Overall, their service has been outstanding. We felt valued as tenants, and their proactive approach made everything so much easier. We highly recommend Marek and Ash to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient lettings agent and wouldn’t hesitate to rent through them again. Thank you to the team for making our experience so positive!

Very Unprofessional and Unreliable

We were very satisfied tenants

We were very satisfied tenants, Neptunehomes took great care of us and whevener there is any work required in the property, they promptly fixed the issues, very satisfied and we highly recommend Neptunehomes.

Run from this agency

They speak nice with you, after you sign the contract, they rob you. If you want to leave, they don't give you the deposit, and make you pay for repairs that were from the old tenants

9am fire alarm maintenance and unprofessional staff

If you see a place run by Neptune homes, sorry, keep looking.
Was regularly woken by a fire alarm at around 9am… The team are so unprofessional and seemingly ignorant of law.
Would recommend steering clear of Neptune homes agents and I will be moving out of here asap.

Update 2024 -
I did indeed move out in September, after a staff member from Neptune homes threatened me. Weekly 9am wake ups and clueless staff, I could tolerate, but abuse, I cannot…

Me and/or my friends never thrashed the kitchen or damaged communal areas…

Dear Arran, This is quite unfortunate to read your review. The fire alarm test was carried out weekly in the communal arears to ensure all tenants safety. The engineer always knocked on the door of every tenant before starting the test. The fire alarm testing continues till date without any objection from any residents as they are aware of the routine. However, I need to remind you of few unpleasant encounters where you fought with the cleaner, thrashed the communal kitchen, always refusing to own up to all damages done to communal areas by your friends and yourselves. We still have record of your abusive text messages to our office. The list goes on. Moreso, despite you comment above, you stayed in the property for another 8 months, this clearly shows you enjoyed all amnesties for a long period of time despite the non factual comment above. Wishing you all the best!
