Commonwealth bank are terrible…
Commonwealth bank has become a terrible bank. There is no customer service unless you want to deal with a useless bot and access to ATMs and branches is close to non-existent. I would recommend PandN or BOQ if you actually want service
Scammers and thives
On May 8th, 2024, I received a payment from my client after that Commonwealth Bank blocked my account, I came to my branch several times but Commonwealth Bank did not want to help and it looks like they scammed me and stole the money I received as no answers even when I asked to return the payment to the client, nothing Commonwealth bank told me do not come here, this will not help (my client until this day (June 16th 2024 do not received his money back and commonwealth bank continues to ignore me)be careful with this bank they are the worst bank in Australia that scams and steal money.

It is impossible to solve something from overseas. I kept calling, the (very expensive) phone calls dropped, the web is useless... Pray your phone is not stolen cause once you lose access to the App you are in for a genuine nightmare.

The commonwealth bank broke their own rules they cancelled my card without contacting me? its business account used for payment and I only found out the next day when people starting contacting me complaning about payments. I rang bank and was left on phone for one and half hours to be told they cant reinstate card I had left it at shop and went back one hour later to pick up card and the assistant rang bank to report card. On a strangers advice they went ahead and cancelled my card without notifying me.

I have been trying for 3 months to change account address and take off unwanted overdraft facility fees that were never wanted or ever used. I have now been been trying to close this account for the last month without success, worst business banking experience ever.

I have written in about this before, the cba has to be the worst bank in Australia.the person involved in this dispute is close to me & I think what they are doing is bordering on bullying, harassment, bank error as well. Went through covid, went through building fault as well as loss of income due to tenants leaving but somehow did manage to keep payments going & then unemployed for a while but still paying payments, to cut a long story short they said she had accumulated arears on on both property so one was paid recently the other as she is selling it the financial adviser got her to stop the payments there so this loan is under seven thousand dollars not such a large amount is being used against her even though at settlement it will be paid they say they will not wait for settlement & in actual fact still refer to it being on both loans & not even acknowledging the fact that one was settled, my argument is this the person concerned her has gone out of the way to make sure the banks demands are met however no matter what is put forward by my friend not one of the client have been met it’s as if the bank are determined to block her/him in every way when if they wait for settlement most of this will be settled but no they won’t let it wait till settlement.
We put our money in the bank they take that money & invest it making huge profits but show no common decency to their customers who may need help not to not pay just work things out so it doesn’t get to this sort of mess & then they loose their customers. They shouldn’t bite the hand who feeds them?
We for one done leave our money in their bank anymore once it goes in it’s removed right away.
Customer service from CBA is a joke
Customer service from CBA would be a joke if it wasn’t a serious issue.
I’m a small business customer who puts about a million dollars a year through the account and I waited an hour and ten minutes on the phone to get through to someone - believe me it was only through necessity.
Have to say the lady was courteous and helpful, but I’ll never get that hour back.

My son & his then partner approached the Frankston bank branch, before it moved.
He explained the hardship he was experiencing & was told by a smarmy upstart, "you shouldn't have taken out the loan in the first place". My son was obviously feeling broken & I was present when he left the bank alone.
I was disgusted in the result.
The bank prompted further funds to be loaned by him, even when he was under-age & unemployed.
The situation exacerbated his mental health problems big time.
Young unsympathetic people must have at least minimal, mental health training skills prior to having face to face appointments. Sad.
worst customer service
Up to a couple of months ago they were ok but i dont usually write bad reviews but this commonwealth bank has given me the worst service ever never before have i had such lies told to me about my money they hold its a pity as now i must start the process of looking for a new bank.

Just unbelievable, new Pay ID to large company, small amount held once for 28 hrs, next small payment, it too is pending, no reasons given, the bots ceba just round in circles, am in the weird music loop one hour now, punctuated by we APPreciate your patience, Al I want to know is why my osko payments touted as being instant are being held for? Also had terrible experince with expired card and no replacement in very difficult circumstances, all the banks fault, they made me jump through dozens of hoops and treated me like a criminal, took hours of my life, who, you must ask is behind this bank and calling the shots?

Rude customer service staff over the phone. My partner was applying for a personal loan over the phone with a staff. Phone staff very rude and even though we’ve been with commonwealth bank for years, they threatened to hang up the phone unless i left the room while my partner was going to rough the application. Appalling!!
Unable to contact Commonwealth Bank…
Unable to contact Commonwealth Bank call centre - on hold for 1 hour+ - hold music playing in a loop. No message about how long the wait time is or whether I am even in a queue - the call centre closes 8pm, and it is 8pm now. My call is still cycling on its loop, so I am ending the call after 1 hour of wasted time and angst. Very disappointing.
Long waits for customer service
I have been a customer of the Commonwealth Bank since the 1980's and am at the point of changing banks. The customer service is abysmal. Long wait times on the phone and in branches. The bot is absolution hopeless at dealing with enquiries and could not compute when I asked to have a real person for the online chat when it was unable to help. When I finally got a real person online the gap between responses to my questions was so great that it took 40 minutes before I was told I needed to go to a branch. I arrived in a branch 40 minutes before closing to be told they wouldn't have time to see me that day. When I expressed my frustration I was seen. Not sure what can be done to get the CBA to lift their game?
Biggest Australian Bank- Calling small money transfer a scam!
I have been with CBA since 1981 and from 1999 I have business account with them. From 8th January 2024, CBA Net Bank staff from Sydney are not letting me transfer $20K-$50K from CBA personal account into an International Transfer bank based in Sydney. Calling this transfer as a scam. Now, locked me out of my Netbank account? I have to transfer my account to a more friendly bank!
