Worst experience ever. Home and contents insurance claim after storm event, still ongoing 8 months later. They knew about exposed asbestos from the event and didn't inform us.

Home and contents insurance with CBA.

Storm event in October 2022. Section of eaves collapsed.
- took weeks for them to send anyone out
- needed to test for asbestos, but still told me a payout amount (vastly understated) but also, decided they would ONLY do a cash settlement. meaning I was at the mercy of builders. I decided to get my own quotes
- my quotes came back 3x as expensive as the payout they intended to give me
- months later, still no results from the asbestos tests. Further internal damages to cornices as a result of moisture ingress. They refuse to match the quotes i had received because "theirs were cheaper so better value for money". I don't think they understand the definition of value.
- around may, i spend multiple times on 45 minute on hold phone calls to try to fight for information
- several calls later i finally get someone who tells me that the asbestos result has in fact come back in...weeks ago. They didn't see it fit to tell me that it was POSITIVE for asbestos. This is right outside our main bedroom.
- It is now July. I've fought for information multiple times. They said they would get their builders to re-attend to discuss the claim and re-assess. Builders never contacted me and never re-attended. Then i call cba weeks after this was told to me, and they told me the builders had re-attended and re-quoted. They obviously had not re-attended, so were lying to CBA. In any case, the builders quote was slightly higher but was extremely suspect as it had two separate line items for both the external eaves and the internal cornices but they were the EXACT same amount, to the cent. Builders clearly didn't care, yet CBA are saying that they are "best value for money".
- My complaints are going unheard. Absolutely disgusting. We unknowingly had exposed asbestos for months. Oh but CBA knew.
- Currently waiting for them to "review"....AGAIN. I've told them time and time again that if they insist on doing a cash payout, then they will payout what the market quotes return, NOT what their dodgy builders will say.

They threatened me with freezing my account! Is this Australia or China.
Can't even access my account!
We should all go back to cash. Digital has to many faults. This bank has no loyalty to customers, only shareholders.

Signed me up for an account that they…

Signed me up for an account that they said was free of fees, but cost me $4/month, and were "unable" to change it, even though I have a health care card and all my ID.
Offered to reimburse me one month's $4 fee as a "courtesy".
Have now switched banks, as it cost me over $100 in fees I should not have been charged.

PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. INDIAN ACCENT CALL CENTRES WHO DENY BEING ABROAD DESPITE EXCESSIVELY STATIC LINE.
DATA MINING AND PHISHING ACTIVITY.
RUDE, SURLY AND INCOMPETENT.
KEEP CUSTOMERS WAITING ON HOLD FOR AN HOUR TO CLEAR THEIR ERROR, ONLY TO HANG UP WHEN AN INCOMPETENT STAFF MEMBER ANSWERS.

Bad experience with Highpoint branch
Getting ready for settlement of my property and was given a bank cheque that needed 3 days clearance when I mentioned to the teller the reason why, even showed him email from conveyancer, he still gave me a cheque.
Them I tried to get them to chance it to online transfer and was told by the supervisor I will have to wait 24hrs for the cancellation and the transfer would take place, not taking into consideration my settlement was the next day, and the mistake was theirs! Stressed and frustrated after several hours inside the branch until NEVAM, lovely young lady went out of her way and solved the issue. So thankful of her

What the heck is Ceba for?

What the heck is Ceba for? Always call, the automated messages says I can ask Ceba online via Netbank. I message Ceba and it tells me "this looks like a question for the humans" like, what?
I've tried using Ceba at least 20 times, always get the same message... Seems pointless to me.. It sends you around in circles.

Ended up speaking to a lovely lady names Raj in the homeloan dept. She was fantastic, so I got what I needed.
I normally bank with NAB and their message system is impeccable. Bankwest is amazing also.

Extremely long waiting times for telephonic support.

Extremely long waiting times for telephonic support.

Today I have been waiting for over an hour on the phone being on hold. I understand that the bank may be experiencing high call volumes, but this is not an excuse for poor customer service and these extremely long waiting times.

We previously phoned in to unlock my credit card which was incorrectly blocked by the bank. Even though we phoned in previously for this the card still does not work, we tried to call in today again to resolve this but as we were just placed on hold, transferred and again placed on hold (been over an hour on hold now).

I would not reccommend Commonwealth Bank.

Over 2 hour wait for a disputed…

Over 2 hour wait for a disputed transaction.
Useless customer service. All they do is answer a call and put you on a waiting list.
What being proud to be Australian call centre when you can’t bloody get back in time.
Any institution can do that.

Have used them for years since giving…

Have used them for years since giving ANZ the flick, my only gripe is the local staff at our branch conned me into changing my savings account to a useless Mastercard debit arrangement where I copped a lot of fees accidentally overdrawing it and other nonsense.

Lets also remember their dreadful delay fighting against Apple pay for a number of years.

However they earned my respect back when a friend got scammed out of $1200 by a fake web hosting company in India. Within seconds of me phoning them (and getting verbal permission to speak on their behalf), the bank representative reversed the charges, then said "hey I found another one", it was an additional $800 he payed to the scammer a week earlier.

With no effort at all $2000 was returned, a champion move by Comm bank. Thank you.

CBA insists I find my phone and enter a stupid code every time I want to transfer money but they are happy for businesses to reach in and take my money with no prior authorisation. It is my bank account, not theirs and not yours! I will be changing banks, you lie at every question
