Loveliest of Roman Shades

The relaxed Roman shades I ordered fit my windows beautifully and the quality is all I could hope for. They go up and down with ease. I got the ones without cords. I am very happy with them and will use this company for any further window coverings I may need. I also appreciated being able to order the swatches ahead of time and match my choice to the room. They are beautiful. Thank you!

Responsive Customer service and quick turn around times.

Although I have not received my blinds yet I have been pleased with the selection and the customer service to date. Customer Service has answered my questions promptly and although I ordered not too long ago apparently my order is already in transit which is an amazing turn around for custom made silk roman shades. Whenever I have made an inquiry I have received a prompt reply. I ordered the swatches to pick the right color and the silk looked like good quality. I will follow up once the end product is installed but I am certainly impressed with the customer service and turn around time.

Qualify, ease of install, and overall experience 10/10

Not a bot! :) Great experience ordering from Neutral. Had previously ordered sample fabrics so picked linen plain fold Roman blinds for the living room and kitchen and bamboo for our bedroom. I have some wonky-shaped windows and they cut everything perfectly. Looks like great craftsmanship, the fabric is good quality, and they were the easiest thing to install in the world. The wooden top beam that holds everything together seems a little flimsy but we had no issues putting them up, we’ll see how it ages. Only thing I’d improve is better labels on the packing bc I had to measure the blinds to see which window they fit but that was a tiny inconvenience that didn’t really matter. Especially for the price point these are perfect. If you’re on the fence just do it!! Would order again and recommend!

Great customer service and ease of installation

Customer service was great. I had issues with the corded Roman shades and they were able to replace it with the cordless in only a week. I love the look of all my new shades and will be buying from them again in the future. My husband said the installation is one of the easiest he’s ever seen.

I love my Roman shades from Neutral…

I love my Roman shades from Neutral Curtains! I ordered 4 cordless, unlined Roman Shades in Raime fabric in the white with beige color and white edge banding. They came in perfectly how I ordered them, size, material and style -they’re just gorgeous, and work like a dream! They were super easy to order and install. I had ordered samples to simplify my selection!

I wanted to love Neutral…

UPDATE:
After posting the negative two star experience in my review below, Neutral reached out to me and went above and beyond to 100 percent make it right. They sent brand new shades, manufactured correctly, and even refunded the tariffs I had to pay UPS to deliver. (For the record, I wasn’t expecting this refund and was more annoyed at Trump for causing this tariff circus that was April 2025 than them, but I will take it!) So for giving me what I ordered and even an extra something I wasn’t even expecting, I will happily up my review to 5 stars. I understand that businesses are ultimately humans who sometimes make mistakes, but how Customer Service repairs and rebuilds trust is everything. Thank you Neutral! I may even re-order in the future. ;-)

I wanted to love Neutral Woven Wood / Bamboo shades. After wasting time on a Canadian brand while navigating new Trump tariffs they raised prices by 40%, which would not fly for my Client’s entire home full of window coverings. I found Neutral who appeared to be based in Texas. I ordered the shade samples, waited to receive them (they came quickly) and I loved the samples! Was a bit apprehensive of going with a new unknown brand for my Client’s entire home, so I decided to place a small order for my own home first - Two very small Top Down Bottom Up shades for my powder room. One small box arrived, and UPS would not release the box to me until I paid them an additional $47 for tariffs. (The shades were coming from China.)
Who knows what they would charge for many boxes coming for my Client’s whole home? Plus, the Top Down mechanism was installed upside down and the shade never fully closed at the top and was unsightly visible complete with strings tied in messy knots when the top was pulled down. This was clearly a manufacturing error, but when I brought it up with Neutral, they did not offer to correct the issue - only give me a $50 credit on my next purchase. No thanks! I know that Neutral can’t help the Trump tariff chaos that was this past spring - BUT they could be warning future customers of hidden tariff costs, and fix ugly top down issues. I paid extra for this feature now to never use it because it looks just plain cheap and ugly looking. And they send brackets that did not fit the shade so we had to rig it ourselves and screw the header directly into our window trim. The woven wood fabric is lovely though! And if I would have just ordered a simple non top down shade, I would probably overlook the wrong bracket issue and be satisfied.

Secondly, we truly appreciate your comments on the product design and functionality. Your suggestions have been very helpful, and we’ve made updates to Top Down Bottom Up shades. We also offer a one-year warranty for all of our shades. If you’re not satisfied with your current product, we’d be happy to send you a replacement with the latest upgraded version to try out, free of charge.

Lastly, regarding the material origin — while the shades are crafted in China, we want to assure you that Chinese bamboo material is considered the high quality in the world. Leading retailers such as Pottery Barn and Home Depot also source their woven wood products from China for this reason.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. The blind was not made correctly- the valance was put on the wrong side of the blind. When I emailed customer service, they insisted that this was how the blind is designed; however, their website shows photos with the valance on the correct side. They refused to take responsibility, and I could only return it with a significant return fee. As a designer, I will never use this company again.

Update: The reply the merchant provided is incorrect. When I ordered this blind, the valance was shown on the front of the blind, or I would not have ordered it. While the company has reached out, it was only after this review, and they didn't offer me a full refund for something of poor quality.

Colours are inaccurate

Curtains are high quality, but the colours on the website are really inaccurate. I ordered what looked like a muted green from the swatch on the site, and they came as brown which doesn't go in my room at all. Haven't heard back from customer support RE the issue either.

Did not fit

Shades did not fit correctly (too wide for inside mount) and the customer service experience was terrible. The language barrier made it very difficult to communicate. After many photos of me measuring and remeasuring numerous sections of the shades and the windows I was told the shades would be replaced. I then received another email stating they would not be replaced. Also one of the shades does not stay down all the way. Buyer beware especially if ordering inside mount. I followed directions for measuring exactly, and now we have ill fitting shades.

Took a gamble ordering from this company as I hadn’t heard of it before and they had very few reviews. So glad I took a chance! The quality is fantastic and they have amazing customer service. I couldn’t find the style that I was wanting anywhere else (relaxed Roman) and they had exactly what I was looking for - I’m so happy with the quality and style. We had a few issues that customer service has been so quick and accommodating to resolve.
