Absolutely gutted by my last experience…
Absolutely gutted by my last experience using the Nextbike app. My ride summary clearly showed that I used the bike for 20 minutes : from 12:44 till 13:04, which should cost £2. However I was charged £4 instead.
When I contacted the support, they told me that according to their system I had gone over by a few seconds; measured in seconds, which are not displayed anywhere on the app. How is a customer supposed to see or control that? Doubling the price over a few seconds that aren’t even shown is simply outrageous. And no help or sympathy from support..! To me this feels like theft. Will stick to the bus instead
Fined without being told about the rules
Absolutely shitty service! Got fined EUR 20 for handing in my bike in a place where I was not allowed.
1) I got the message 10 min. after I parked, when I had already entered a museum. No info on the app about not being allowed to park there.
2) Got an email which led me to a support site where I was told that I could cancel the 20 EUR fee by picking up my bike and continuing my journey - would have bee nice to be told on the day in the app and not via email.
3) Customer service is absolutely useless and told they could not give an exemption as they had given me one before - which they had not. When enquiring about this they even agreed "oh yes, that message did not consider your case. It was just a standard phrase we use".
Can totally recommend using the service because it is convenient, but I have absolutely nothing positive to say about providing information in the app or their customer service support team.
Dishonest. Zero star support.
Dishonest. The bike lock didn't lock at the end of my ride, and I was charged a total amount well beyond my actual usage. I've written over 10 support messages but received no response. In addition to not offering reliable technical service, they've proven completely indifferent to customer issues. Zero-star support. Absolutely avoid.
Unehrlich.
Assistenza zero stelle. Da evitare assolutamente.

I Wish I Had read the reviews before I signed up on Nextbike!
I have paid for a membership that I can’t use and when I try to get my money back, I get no response at all. The customer service is awful - it’s like I get automated answers by a bot,not a person.
Worst bicycle hire ever!

The worst bike sharing system since the invention of the earth. Everything that can go wrong, goes wrong.
Worst thing: Stations are changed without prior notice and the clients then have to pay extra.
DONT use that system!!!

Operators are rude
Operators are rude. I’ve had to call twice for amounts to be amended, which is fine, sometimes there’s a glitch with faulty bikes and not being able to end rides or be refunded right away.
The first time the man mumbled something while I was telling him about my issue, I asked him to repeat what he’d said and he said “I’ve refunded you” and then hung up the phone.
The second time I was explaining what had happened and answering questions as the conversation went on but the lady lost her temper with me and told me to “just stop, I’m trying to help you” despite me not having raised my voice or lost my cool at all - the issue was not a huge deal, I was just looking for some help with an incorrect charge. It was very out of the blue and made me feel uncomfortable. She then explained she was “trying to help me” and that I “kept cutting her off”. This was not the case at all. I had asked her to clarify something and accidentally spoke when I thought she had finished. At the end of the phone call I gave her some feedback on how I felt about the way she had spoken to me and she just said “I don’t think I did”. When I told her it was unprofessional and that she should really be apologetic she said “ok then I’m sorry”. Just rude, short and snappy. I use nextbike every day and it’s great, but dread having to speak to rude and impatient customer service operators.
This is so bad
This is so bad, often the bikes are not working, either assisting is not working and you have to paddle like a maniac, or the gears are broken. But even worse is that they bill you with 20€ for parking your bike wrong even though you did park it correctly and a official spot. When you complain no one answers and if they answer they write stupid stuff like "sorry, hope your request was already answered, if not write again" and then the game starts new. This is so frustrating...
I would not recommend to register with…
I would not recommend to register with Nextbike unless you want to see your money disappear with no chance to object or to get in touch with (the nonexistant) client support. The app is very unclear about charges and tarifs, you are charged for parking outside "zones" wrongly but sincerely; the worst is to not be able to reach the company, att all. Tried calling 20 times, mailed, Facebook someone said they would get back but they leave you having charged nearly 100 euros for a weekend that should be a lot less according to their app.
My feeling; It's a fraud. Scandalous that it can go on with such crappy rewievs all over internet!
They charged me 20 euros for "parking"…
They charged me 20 euros for "parking" in the wrong street, which was a normal street in the city center, where bikes can go and people walk everyday. Absolutely not fair, and customer service not even replying
Randomly charges extra money, support doesn't reply to claims, most bikes are in terrible state.
Used it for 4 days in Berlin. I was charged 1€ as I created my account, with no explanation. I bought the monthly subscription that offers free rides under 30 minutes, but was charged money on some of my 10-20 minute rides (not all, which is so random). I wrote 4 messages to the support, both as a general question and as claims connected to the single rides I was unjustly charged for, and still haven’t received any reply after days. The bikes are in terrible state, one had gears not working, one had brakes barely working. I rented 8 different bikes over 4 days and just 1 was in order. I can't understand how a rental company can offer a payed "service" with inconsistent and faulty price calculation, non existent customer support, and absent checks and maintenance on their bikes. Luckily I didn't lose too much extra money over that short span of time. I now know to look elsewhere in the future.
They owe me money and won't respond to customer support emails
They owe me money - they've charged me 46 euros once and then 15 euros. I didn't even use a bike, it said I'd been on a bke for two days. I emailed three times and submitted complaints. No one responds to me. This is insane! Thieves
Scam
The idea is good, but the service is not.
I’ve rented bikes several times, and every time afterward, I was charged because the bike was supposedly parked in the wrong zone.
Since I was sure I parked it in the correct zone, I rented another one, double-checked the zone in the app, even took a screenshot to be sure, and returned it.
Still, I was charged one euro again because they claimed it was in the wrong zone!
Customer service sided with them — it’s just a scam.
Avoid unhelpful customer service
Do not use. Dropped off bike at exactly same spot I collected it from and they charged 20 euros. I see from other comments they have done this to others

First and last time, these are thieves
First and last time. 20 euros????
I found the bike on the street, Left it on the street. No warning, no information, this is theft. Shame on you.
Horrible
Horrible. They keep taking money out of my account when i havent used the bike. And when i co tact them, they ignore me. This is a 100% a scam.
Bad experience
Bad experience, I have receive a warning for a wrong parking spot in a bike that I didn't use. It was hard to making them understand their mistake. Never more.

It's not what is looks like (Niederösterreich)
You would assume that if there is a physical bike parking location with nextbike logo and other bikes, it is a location where you can and should return the bike. This assumption doesn't hold up. Watch out for current information in the app, they live in a virtual world.
