Been quite a few times and it's normally great, able to park and get a great view, connected radio super easily. Ordered food and it took 45 minutes to arrive which was over halfway through the movie... See more

Cannot rate highly enough
I cannot rate my experience of Nightflix highly enough.
To begin, the staff are so friendly, helpful, and efficient. All masked-up too, despite the venue being outside, which is appreciated and makes me feel even safer.
The service is also fantastic. The audio comes via FM radio (which you tune your car infotainment to), and is crystal clear and synced with the film flawlessly. They also use this to do announcements before the film begins, which is a great system (more on that later). The projection is also great, and the cars are parked in such a way that you always have a great view - the only thing obscuring the screen is the occasional old-style aerial, but you soon stop noticing these.
Some cars must have their headlights on when the engine is running, which can greatly impact the viewing experience - but Nightflix have thought of this! The staff are always on the lookout for cars with their lights on, and have blackout-fabric with suckers at each corner that they come round and stick on the offending vehicles - these are swiftly collected when the credits begin to roll. For someone with a car such as this, it's greatly appreciated and doesn't make me feel guilty for turning the engine on to clear the fog from the windscreen/turn the heating on for a little bit!
I'd visited the Newark venue multiple times prior to December, and we always had perfect weather. However, I went last week and there was low-lying fog which caused the picture to be blurry (no way around this!). To combat this, they delayed the start of the film by 15mins (using the FM announcement to keep everyone informed) to see if the fog cleared, which it did a little. However at the same time, I was receiving text messages from Nightflix informing me that a voucher would be issued due to the low visibility - now that's fantastic service. I received the voucher, and it's not just "£X off your next ticket", but a full free ticket for a single vehicle.
I was so shocked that they would be so generous (after all, it's not their fault there was fog that evening), but it certainly was the right thing to do, and has given me complete confidence in booking future viewings knowing that I don't have to worry about the weather forecast.
I've been 5 times already, and I'll be going back many more times!
[My review is based on my experience at the Newark Showground Nightflix venue]
Great customer service
Attending tomorrow night, super duper excited! I lost my tickets and hadn’t been able to find them anywhere contacted nightflix the night before and they got back to me instantly and were so helpful! Great customer service & can’t wait for my showing tomorrow!
Disappointed
We went to see the grinch at the Stoneleigh location on the 13th December and were sadly left disappointed.
With most events etc all closed still because of being in tier 3 we as well as many others im sure we’re all looking forward to a night out of doing something but we’re left disappointed and I would not recommend for the money or go back.
We arrived early probably the 5th car to arrive and ordered food pretty much straight away and straight away the menu was very different to that advertised on the website and the food we were looking forward too. The only hot food option was a plain Jayne burger or the vegan burger. None of the lovely hot dogs etc or other options advertised.. oh and soup...
So my partner ordered the burger with bacon and cheese and I had the vegan burger.
Man came along to the car to advise they had ran out of bacon... we asked how that was possible as we were one of the first cars to arrive etc but all he could do was apologise and could add another patty in the burger. Burgers arrived quite quick but the chips were not offered with any sauces which was odd too. Then as I was about to tuck into mine we had another knock on the window to say there had been a mix up and my vegan burger did not have the vegan bun. It didn’t matter to me as I am not a vegan I just fancied it over the only other option available but if I had have been a strict vegan this could have been quite upsetting.
Film started late then about an hour into it we all had another knock at the window to say the gas had ran out and no more food or
Hot drinks available at all...
they tell you not to bring your own but it’s a good job we did!! Really not good enough at all.
Also it says on the website you will be parked so you can leave if you need to.
Not the case at stoneleigh... we were at the front and completely packed in so if they had of been an emergency I’m not sure how they would have managed to get us out....
On top of that it’s strange you have to listen to it through the car radio - so many cars had to be jump started at the end so you spent a lot of the film worrying your car won’t start at the end.
On top of this finding it was a bit of a nightmare too the sat nav would
Not pick it up as we were entering the area and kept trying to get us to drive through a field lol and then when you find the centre there is one sign to say this way then you drive up a really long dark road trying to spot someone or another sign. So unless you know it and have been there before I would definitely recommend leaving extra time to find it.
It also rained which I know can’t be helped but it just topped it off trying to see the film through a smudged windscreen with no more food or hot drinks and the worry of your car battery dying.
So in my opinion it’s not worth the money and they have not got it right at all.
I’ve been to outdoor cinemas pre Covid where your sitting outside and it’s been a lovely atmosphere and experience but this just isn’t and they really really need to sort the food situation out and have available what is advertised on the website!
Very well organised staff
Very well organised staff, guys give you radio mhz frequency to listen to film, theres metal antislip car pathways laid out, they even ask you if your car is from or rear wheel drive so you can position yourself, it is muddy but ok,take a torch for the toilets, hot food on site is available, overall a good experience
Book your tickets already!!!
We've just got back from seeing Polar Express at the Stoneleigh screen and I can't recommend this highly enough either for a night out or a completely covid-safe family outing.
Huge screen, great picture quality and the sound comes through your own FM radio; it was crystal-clear and perfectly in-synch with the action. I'd expected to have my son sitting on my lap the entire time in order to have a good view, but I needn't have worried; the screen is well-positioned (and the car placement well arranged) so he chose to sit in the back seat instead and was happy with his view.
Food including burgers, hot dogs, confectionary, hot & cold drinks is delivered to your car window by a masked staff member on a tray held at arm's length. The toilets are basic but clean, with plenty of paper, hot water and soap.
The staff were fantastic from start to finish; welcoming, friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble. They somehow made the whole experience extra special without being in the way either. They even had special covers for the headlights of anyone with a car where the lights stay on if the key is in the ignition.
It was so, so nice to have a 'normal' family activity without having to worry. Having said that, we enjoyed the experience so much that we hope to continue visiting after the current situation is over, it's a great experience in its own right and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Absolute shambles
Sat in the car for nearly two hours with bored, upset children only to be told that due to technical difficulties the event was being cancelled and that we can expect an email with a gift voucher! No thank you, I would like my money back please and how about fuel money and the £50 spent on food. When we turned up at 5pm the screen was not even on so the organisers knew that there was problems at that time and probably before... I am now driving back home, the end leg of a 50 mile round trip with three upset children, one of which has yet to stop crying, the perfect end to a rubbish year... 👍
Filthy toilets
Very disappointed in the state of the toilets. Absolutely filthy, smelly, no running water. Surprising when in the middle of a pandemic when hygiene should be a priority. Only glad I brought my own food as wouldn't want to order through the app to have it delivered by staff who may have used the facilities.
On a positive note the parking and staff were very well organised with vehicles and placing headlight covers where necessary.
The film was also excellent.
Excellent night out
Excellent night out. Sound and picture quality is amazing. Staff are so helpful.
Customer service by Christine absolutely amazing!
Haven't actually been just yet, however I have booked tickets and dealt with a lady named Christine who's customer service skills are second to none!!!! She really has tailored my needs and requests and has gone above and beyond her duty to make sure my night goes to plan for my partner and myself. I havent had customer service on this level for many years......I would like to a big thank you to Christine.
Visited the Longmoor site
Visited the Longmoor site. Firstly I would like to comment on the difficulty in finding your venue. There was no signs to indicate where to go at all. Following the SAT NAV will take you to the Longmoor military training camp.
However the screen size was great, sound and quality of video was brilliant. Connecting to the AUX speaker was relatively easy. Th staff were really helpful and welcoming. A bit empty and only had 3 cars including ourselves however would definitely recommend.
They took my money today after booking…
They took my money today after booking for today and within 5 mins they cancelled and I cannot reschedule as there's no one to speak to and am not being sent a verification code. Its poor service and they should never have taken my money knowing its already cancelled
Nightflix @ Colchester
Colchester - Bill and Ted - Thursday evening
Arrival
- Didn’t see signs from the road/ entrance but the screen 📺 is huge so you know you are there. Just follow the row of metal fences which snake into the parking area
- High vehicles are put at the back but you can move forward if there is space when everyone is in
- Plenty of space
View and sound
- You time your radio into a frequency to hear the film via your car. Great sound, I guess it depends on the quality of your own stereo
- large screen so easy to see in any row
Facilities
- serve reasonably priced food (Burger and chips £7 ish) Beef, chicken, fish, vegan plus hot dogs and snacks bits like nachos
- you get a link by text just before you arrive so you can order food in your car and have it delivered
- Didn’t use toilets, so can’t comment
Thoughtful touches
- if you have to put your engine on to listen to the sound, or put blowers on to get rid of condensation build up, and your day lights come on, they come round and put little blankets on your lights to avoid disturbing others viewing
Points to note
- We hadn’t needed to download the track and trace app as we hadn’t been anywhere since it was launched. Here you had to, even if you just sit in your vehicle the whole time with your own household and the windows shut as it is cold. If you go outside, it is temporarily, nothing is inside. Food delivered to your car is at arms length. This seemed weird.
- Car battery can run low so we had to run the engine a bit. They do have jump leads apparently though.
Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish! Went to Stoneleigh, zero signs to say where to go, pointed down a long dark road, eventually found a girl stood on her own (she was very polite and explained how to switch on, just felt sorry for her stood in the dark) with a plastic box full of cheap plug in FM receivers, took a minute to realise we were already next to the screen as the place was a rough gritty car park, zero lighting, no atmosphere whatsoever. Website made it look lovely - it wasn’t. We hadn’t eaten as website said food was available, but all they had was a few bags of crisps and sweets. Screen size was good, and sound started ok, but soon became crackly then lost signal, happened three times till eventually we gave up and left early. Very disappointed as was looking forward to it. Having been to several LUNA screenings we thought this would be the same, we were wrong. Don’t bother with this company, save you’re money and go to Luna - the screens may be a bit smaller, but the over all experience is in a different league to this rubbish!
This is a very budget experience
This is a very budget experience. We have been to Luna cinema and Drive n Dine before this one. Both the others had high quality audio kit, Nightflix had cheap headphone with FM receivers, which we had to swap 3 times to get working.
No the screen was big, which was a bonus as the Luna screens are very small.
We took food, even though you are not allowed, but they only have sweets and popcorn on offer and warm bottles of drink.
The cars we parked right next to each other so you couldn’t have your windows down and there was a free for all at driving out with no staff instructions on when to leave.
We visited the Stoneleigh one and watched Tenet which was a very good film.
Not worth it, stay at home and watch TV
Good points - screen is a good size and staff were friendly. Bad points - audio device is shocking. We missed part of film as we had to go and find someone to get new audio device. First and second kit went crackly and stopped working. Used the headphones but one of those also stopped working. Beware, it says you can't bring food BUT there was no hot food available through venue, only crisps, bagged popcorn and limited cold drinks
(which were warm)!!
Fantastic night
Fantastic night at nightflix Colchester. Such a wonderful experience watching a film in the comfort of your own car. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered food which was lovely, Sam who delivered the food to our car window was very efficient, friendly and polite. He kept his distance and helped us with all our queries.
The atmosphere at the end of the film was brilliant all other drivers bibbing their horns. A great safe night out. We will be back!! Keep up the good work.

This was our first time at the open air movies.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The reason why I am Giving it low stars...
We decided not to have tea at home and eat whilst watching the movie. We double checked that hot food was on and the kids were excited about having a burger, watching the film.
However there were no hot food on and this left us all hungry. The only thing that was for sale were chocolate and pop.
By the time the film had finished all fast food restaurants were closed.
I hope in future they will clearly state on their website if food is not available.
But overall if was a good night.
Fantastic
Fantastic, was our very first drive in movie after a life time of wanting to go, we went to see rocky horror picture show, great price and no added cost for extra passengers like some others had avertised
In the comfort of our own car, so we couldn't hear anyone else talking through it
Food delivered stright to your car with only a short wait, toilets were very clean and decorated well
With helpful friendly staff
Thoroughly enjoyed every part of it will definitely be going again!
