Terrible support and taking money
Works great but support is shocking.
Have an issue with subscription and double charging. Tried to contact support team and they were unable to resolve, said they’d get back to me within 3 days, and 10 weeks later, no response. Are now sending confirmation it’s been resolved and asking for feedback.

I contacted Nord support for a recurring issue that I couldn't seem to correct. I received an email very quickly giving me several options to try. The recommendations were spot on. Issue resolved at this time. Everyone from Nord who was involved with my issue was super. I'm glad I chose you for my VPN provider, solid performance for years and a very efficient support team. Dedicated IP service changed without refund — illegal under their own ToS
I subscribed to a Dedicated IP service. NordVPN unilaterally changed my IP address, destroying the sole value of this product (an IP that doesn't change). They then refused any refund.
The issue: their own section 16.2 provides for a pro-rata refund when a service is permanently discontinued. Their counter-argument was the "30-day money-back guarantee" — which applies to voluntary cancellations, not to changes imposed by them.
I cited EU Directive 2019/770 on digital services (prior notice + right to terminate at no cost). Response: "our advanced team is investigating." Then a definitive refusal without ever answering the legal question I raised three times.
Active recourse: DGCCRF complaint (French consumer authority), European Consumer Centre.
A serious company would honor its legal obligations rather than dodge them with irrelevant arguments.

Good Customer Service
Whenever l've contacted customer services they've always tried to resolve the problem. And it didn't matter who answered the reply back from me, there was continuity without me having to explain the problem again. I felt totally supported until the problem was resolved. Thank you!
Average service, exploitative billing.
Average service, but nowhere near worth the cost.
The service itself is passable, but inconsistent. As expected the bitrates are throttled considerably compared to untunneled rates, but at times the tunnel outright collapses and NordVPN must be turned off to restore internet access.
More importantly, they have a dishonest renenewal system. Most recently my previous plan at $130 per year expired, at which point I was charged $277 for a single year of access when an equivalent to the original plan is available for $110 per year. In short, exploitative billing practices. Competitors offer far cheap prices for the same service, even compared to the discounted prices of NordVPN.

I had always been totally satisfied…
I had always been totally satisfied with my Nord VPN product , until after recent upgrade..... which for reasons unknown was unable to use Nord VPN with any consistency..... it took a little searching to find the correct email address to relate my problems, but once I did, my problems were attended to with haste and efficiency, and glad to report my Nord VPN service is working as well as it did before, thank you very much.

I canceled my NordVPN subscription through Apple/iPhone settings and believed the subscription had ended.
NordVPN’s own billing page also showed:
- “Auto-renewal OFF”
- “Expired”
- expiration date May 13, 2026
Despite this, NordVPN still charged my card through a separate direct billing system. The charge did not appear in Apple subscriptions or Apple’s refund system.
I contacted support and explained the situation. Refund was denied.

I was charged for an automatic NordVPN renewal that I did not expect and do not believe was clearly communicated at the time of billing.
I did not receive adequate advance notice of the renewal charge, and the subscription was renewed at a price I was not actively expecting or consenting to at the time of renewal. As soon as I noticed the charge, I contacted NordVPN support to request a refund and cancellation.
My refund request was denied, despite reaching out promptly after the transaction and not meaningfully using the renewed service period.
The main issues I experienced were:
lack of clear and timely renewal notification
automatic billing without what I consider informed consent at the time of renewal
refusal to provide a refund even shortly after the charge
limited flexibility in resolving an unexpected renewal
I am currently escalating this through consumer protection channels and my financial institution due to the refusal to refund a recent charge.
I hope the company improves transparency around renewal notifications and makes cancellation/refund processes more straightforward for users in similar situations.

This VPN was a nightmare
This VPN was a nightmare. It interfered with almost anything I wanted to do online: stream my TV or radio shows, do a search or even get into my email or bank account. I tried excluding sites: it still blocked them. I spent hours with customer service trying the "fixes" they recommended. Nothing worked. I finally got rid of it, since I was basically having to keep it disconnected continually. Absolutely worthless product.

I had a problem using NordVPN on a specific site. I could not find this issue addressed in the Support Center, so I began with the Chat. It was a bot, but the best I've encountered - replies were always to the point, and the dialogue moved forward.
When the bot could not help it referred the issue to a human, who joined the chat within seconds. I did not need to repeat steps (previous traumatic experience), the instructions I received were clear and detailed. My support human had so much patience and guided me through the time I got stuck despite the excellent instructions.
After a very long time of thoroughly trying various options with me and the issue not resolved, my problem was escalated and I will hear back within a few days.
Whether NordVPN will be able to resolve this issue or not is of less consequence. I had the best support encounter I could wish for.
