Thieves
The cash i attempted to withdraw 3 weeks ago wasn't dispensed but was removed from my bank account. I put in a dispute and have heard nothing since so basically legalised theft. I woukd recommend that if you come across a note ATM you find an alternative.
Note Machine - took £120 from me
Tried to take out £300 cash but the machine only dispensed £180. Challenged the casino and the ATM company who just told me to speak to my bank. Have now heard from my bank saying this company have said there was not an error. This is fraud and I will be raising a complaint to the police and taking to the ombudsman and small claims court. Good luck NoteMachine. All these people cannot be liars or wrong can they???
Update on this one 29/01/23: my bank told me that Note Machine had balanced the ATM and there were no errors after their ‘investigation’. My bank provided no proof that an investigation took place or the results of that. I complained further and provided additional information and the bank gave me my money back as a gesture of good will. In a way this annoyed me as I wanted to go to small claims court on this and provide details of what happened and see their investigation. The machine could not have balanced as I was shorted on cash and others were in the place that night.
My advice to anyone affected by this company - complain, complain, complain. Go to the ombudsman and then to court. It’s the only way the banks will take action against Note Machine
Bad Conduct of NoteMachine
Tried to withdraw £250 from the NoteMachine ATM in Canning Town Station. Machine swallowed money before I could take it. Rang 'Customer Assistance No' on machine & company rep said he could see that money had gone back into the machine but refused either to cancel the transaction or refund it & told me it would be refunded once the machine had been checked. The money never was refunded & I heard nothing further. Now having to raise a dispute with my bank. Company should not be allowed to operate in UK if it provides such a poor service & fails to refund customers' cash incorrectly taken as it legally is bound to. Will avoid all NM ATMs in future
Be careful! They do charge fees on “no fees” machines!…
On 12/31/2022 I withdrew 140 pounds from a “no fee charged” NoteMachine at the Green Park Station in Westminster. When I looked at my bank account it showed that $191.53 had been withdrawn. The exchange rate for the pound versus the US dollar was at that time was .83. According to my math, they should have withdrawn approximately $163.80. They kept $27.73 more than they should have on that single transaction assuming they did not charge “any fees” which is written on big signs on the machine. Just wanted everyone to know so they should avoid using the NoteMachine ATM. Beware of this company!!!
Update on 1/17/2023. Just saw on my bank statement that I was charged $5 for a balance enquiry and $5 for a withdrawal fee on top of the $27.73 they kept over and above the current exchange rate! Withdrew $140 and was charged over $37 in fees on a “No Fees” ATM! Crooks! Consumer beware!!!!
Note ATM scam
Yesterday we went to get £250 out of the ATM at EVE’S Whitby N,York’s & it didn’t dispense the money but £250 came out of our bank account.
NM machine at Fairdeal Shop in Clapton…
NM machine at Fairdeal Shop in Clapton London E5 swallowed my card, made a funny noise and reset itself, not returning my card. I've called CS twice only to be transferred twice to my bank's CS line that was closed. To worsen things my pregnant self needed the money to top up gas.
Two cards retained within the last…
Two cards retained within the last eight weeks for having the nerve to ask for a balance enquiry, both from notemachine ATMs in Dunoon, I stood for half an hour while trying to make a complaint to NM warning people not to use said machine, two others fell and lost their cards and an old lady told of her card being eaten by the same machine a week ago. The shop (semichem) that it's attached to refused to put an out of order sign on it. This machine is obviously very old and has taken a beating, why not replace it? I'll never use NM again. Dreadful company that would rather inconvenience customers than replace obsolete machines.

STAY WELL CLEAR OF NOTE MACHINE LTD ATMS I've just gone through the grief and…
I've just gone through the grief and anxiety with this cowboy company. I went to use their machine in a shop called Fartown News on Bradford Road in Huddersfield. I put my mastercard in and requested £50.00. The machine didn't dispense the money but it did withdraw it from my account, there is nothing wrong with my card and there was sufficient funds in my account, luckily I got my card back . I left it for 3 days as an automatic refund can take 3 days still no refund so I contacted note machine Ltd and they wasn't interested at all.i explained its your responsibility as its your machine that's at fault.. no still not interested, told me to sort it out with my card issuer.i did and they contacted note machine in the usual way, but the company totally ignored them. 54 days later I got my money back from my bank and not from note machine Ltd. I can't understand how this scam of a company can stay in business especially with the scams and fraudulent way to get people's money. The uk government need to investigate this company and the police too. Anyway my advice is stay well clear of any of their machines. If you're going to use a machine in a shop or supermarket ask who the machine belongs to, if they say Note Machine Ltd..keep well away a try find one belonging to a reputable bank. I'll never use their machine again, I hope note machine are happy with my £50 they stole from me and the interest its earned..thieving ars#holes ...
DO NOT USE THESE ATMS.
DO NOT USE THESE ATMS.
These ATM's do not dispense the cash you requested but they DO take the money from your account. This was a new Lloyds debit card, so there is no reason for the card to have a problem.
You CANNOT dispute the transaction with NoteMachine. They are not interested in the problem at all, you can only dispute the transaction via your card holder.
AVOID THESE ATM's THEY ARE A SCAM, THEY FAIL TO DISPENSE CASH.
Do not use their ATM machines
Do not use their ATM machines! If for some reason you have entered your pin incorrectly only once it will swallow your card, no cash or support will given. You will have to ask your bank send you a new card. Awful customer support unhelpful

Never any money in our machine and they…
Never any money in our machine and they have the cheek to say it doesn't get enough use, it gets plenty of use when there is. They now threaten to take it out unless we let them have it effectively rent free. Terrible company.
Wow lots of negativity on here.
Wow lots of negativity on here.
Atms take people's cards for a reason not just randomly. If your card is looking a bit worn or bent after spending years in your wallets or pockets then change them with your bank. If an atm cant recognise your card or thinks its being tampered with,it will take your card to protect the card holders account. If an ATM retracts your money it's because your taking too long to take it, again another safety issue that every ATM has.
ATMS do more than give you money, they allow people to pay bills top up phones and deposit money. If it's showing it's out of cash it can still be used for these services.
Useless customer service
Card was swollen, so called on the number given on that useless machine. The only thing they do is apologies for inconvienience. I know how to block my card. I need solution, not apologies. Apparently they are not responsible for nothing. I need to pay for ordering my card and there are not even compemsation for that.
My 82 year old father has just had his…
My 82 year old father has just had his bank card swallowed by one of thier useless machines.
I tried ringing the number they give but I just got an automated voice saying if your card has been retained the machine then were sorry there's nothing we can do.
So he is 200 miles from home with no access to his money.
Why your machines even have the facility to just take someone's card I don't know, absolutely disgusted.
What ‘customer’ in ‘customer service’ really means - the retailer which has contracted N-Machine to install machine not the individual shopper
The machine located in a well known supermarket offered me the money and then swallowed it back. I naively rang up the phone number on the machine. But I later realised looking at their website that the ‘customer’ in ‘customer service’ is the supermarket. The supermarket customer has no contract with NoteMachine, the supermarket has the contract with NoteMachine and NoteMachine has to provide the service without the machine routinely breaking down, swallowing back money etc. That’s why they say they ‘help’ by transferring you to the bank - except when they did so, it was a Sunday and the bank was closed. According to staff at the supermarket, the machine routinely has faults. But NoteMachine, part of private equity firm Corsair, relies on banks to bail them out with the operators telling shoppers in their customer supermarket to raise a dispute notice for any money the machine swallows back. I won’t use the machine again because from what supermarket staff have told me it is not fit for use, routinely going wrong. It’s not the ground floor staff at the supermarket’s fault but they are confused about the line of responsibility, thinking they have nothing to do with it but they are providing the service through N-Machine and the supermarket’s national management should be dealing with this because it is not getting the service they contracted for for shoppers. The supermarket is the customer. ‘Dispute’ has a meaning and it means N-Machine is disputing that the money has been swallowed back. If it has been taken back and has still been taken out of the bank account, N-Machine then relies on the bank to refund.
Worst experience ever
Card thieves with absolutely NO responsibility and accountability
I am on vacation with absolutely NO access to my funds because of you and your piece of …. machines. How can you not look after your users? .
NO-ONE ANSWERS YOUR SO CALLED COMPLAINTS LINE IT JUST RINGS OUT!!

Budgens at Ringwood
Budgens at Ringwood. Machine swallowed my card. Took an hour to get through to someone to cancel it. Now have to wait 5 “working!” days for a replacement. Staff on the the so called help desk were particularly unhelpful. Just giving me stock answers with zero empathy. Apparently, according to Claire, there is no one on this planet (not her exact words) that could tell me why I lost my card. I would never trust one of their machines ever again!
stole my card
went to use the machine, put in my card and it swallowed it! i called the number on the machine, which was the most unhelpful customer service i’ve ever used, and then while i was standing near the machine it decided to turn on again! just completely reset with my card inside saying it was out of service, then it went back in service for a few minutes, switched off, then went on again. absolute theives, don’t use their machines.
