SCAM originating in China. Has NEVER been in Santa Monica. Clothes are not at all as described. Disgusted!
I take one star because I can't take 0. This is a total scam. They have beautiful photoshoped photos of the garments on their website but you get a very poor fabric and not even close in design, color, length, etc of what they are offering. They won't acknowledge and you have to pay the shipping return+customs to China. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!
This company is a complete scam. They say they are based in Santa Monica and going out of business. Turns out, according to them, they are “registered” in Santa Monica. They say the items are linen, but when I received the blouse, it was polyester and not as described. If you are dissatisfied and want to return the item, you have to return it to China at a cost more than the item! I dealt with them for weeks and finally filed a dispute with PayPal. Over that time they offered me a refund of 20% and I could keep the blouse I didn’t want. I kept saying no and they finally raised it to 90%, which I accepted. But then they wanted me to remove my dispute before they would make the refund. They claimed that I would avoid a $15 fee, which was a lie. I refused and escalated my dispute to a claim. On the last day of the response period, they offered me the 90% refund through the PayPal claim process. I was tenacious because they are just liars and scammers. Don’t buy from this company!!
this is a scam site. I saw them on instagram saying they were sad to close after all the years they'd been in business, but i'd never seen or heard of them when I lived in Santa MOnica, and now it's the exact sob story they're trying to promote about Laura New York--same poor quality clothing, too.
This website is a scam. The fabric is very cheap. The items do not look like the pictures on the website. I thought I was ordering from a store in Santa Monica that was going out of business. No such place. On the website, there is a sob story about the owners have become new grandmothers and are selling their business to spend more time with their grandchildren. The items run small and you have to pay to return them to China. I am out of about $150 for 4 items. They are going to Goodwill tomorrow!
Do NOT buy from this company unless you are sure you will keep the product. It is a Chinese company that in there own words: "We have received your return request and would like to assist you. However, we regret to inform you that we do not offer free return shipping as stated on our Delivery and Returns page."
They require you to return the item to China and maybe it will get there and you have to pay to ship it back. They try to offer you a 20% refund but that is not what it states in their ad. It's a fraud, do not fall for it.
Quality of material not nice and not as advertised. Although in an email correspondence with Nova and Chic, they stated, "We have received your return request and would like to assist you. However, we regret to inform you that we do not offer free return shipping as stated on our Delivery and Returns page." I got back a mere 20% in order to avoid paying to send to China along with Customs charger. This felt like a scam!
This company is clearly a scam. My mom fell for their webpage saying they were going out of business because they just became grandmothers but it doesn't look as if they are going out of business. The item purchased was way to big and didn't fit. The choice was to return it to China - and then they would determine if the money would be refunded - or they could give us something else at a cut price. Don't buy from here.
Can't get company to respond so that I can return item that is too, too large.
I would give it 0 stars if possible. It is a scam. I never received anything. They did keep giving me partial refunds. If you look at the domain name information, they got the domain name shortly before the site went up--and the co. is listed in Canada, though it pretends to be Santa Monica. They keep running new fake companies about to go out of business, and scamming more people. A COMPLETE HOAX.
This is a scam. Clothing is sent from China. Nothing fit and clothing looked nothing like the gorgeous photos. Fabrics were cheap and mostly polyester. Returns must be mailed to China.
