For anyone considering joining Nuffield…
For anyone considering joining Nuffield Health, it’s worth being aware that the organisation promotes the values of Connected, Aspirational, Responsive and Ethical, together - and somewhat conveniently - forming the acronym CARE.
Having read the employment tribunal judgment involving Beth Littlewood, I find it difficult to see how Nuffield’s treatment of her reflected any of those values.
The tribunal judge criticised Nuffield’s poor communication throughout the process. That hardly demonstrates an organisation that is truly Connected to its employees.
Ms Littlewood was also denied annual leave that had been requested months in advance, preventing her from competing as a canoe polo champion in a sport she was passionate about. For a company that claims to be Aspirational, denying an athlete the opportunity to pursue a genuine achievement outside of work seems deeply contradictory.
The judgment also highlighted Nuffield’s failure to properly deal with those leave requests, raising serious questions about how Responsive the organisation really is when employees need support and reasonable consideration.
Most shocking of all was the requirement that Ms Littlewood drive 800 miles overnight to attend a meeting, only for her manager not to attend. It is difficult to reconcile that level of disregard for an employee’s time and wellbeing with any reasonable understanding of Ethical behaviour.
The tribunal ultimately awarded Ms Littlewood nearly £150,000 in compensation. What makes the outcome even more remarkable is that she represented herself throughout the proceedings, demonstrating determination, professionalism and resilience.
If this is how one employee was treated, it raises an uncomfortable question: how many others may have had similar experiences but lacked the time, resources or energy to challenge them? Nuffield Health may wish to reflect on whether its actions towards Ms Littlewood truly embodied the values of CARE that it so prominently promotes.

This wasn`t true and I was moving from the town the same month. They however charged me for 3 months direct debit without my permission and refused to pay it back.
Quality care
Excellent care and prompt appointment. Some of the reception team could be more friendly and welcoming.

For years I wanted to learn traditional form of tai chi before finding classes with Sylvia Jarvis at Bromley Nuffield health, fitness & wellbeing. I tried 4 previous teachers who taught different versions of tai chi (one version was so slow, the class time was spent just breathing). The Bromley Nuffield class with Sylvia is exactly what I hoped to find: gentle, calming but also stimulating. The form fully exercises one's brain cells and muscles. It is a very friendly class. Excellent for improving posture, balance and building strength especially in later life. Enjoyable & rewarding experience. AS
A Wednesday Traditional Thai Chi in Bromley
A Wednesday afternoon class Traditional Thai Chi at Bromley taken by Sylvia has always been a great experience and enjoyed by many age group and cultures. Professional well explained and demonstrated you can feel the Chi flowing ( and see it) feel amazing afterwards, no fatigue, no stress 🙏balanced, grounded and strong!
So pleased I joined this.
Just completed a twelve week Joint Pain Programme. It was so helpful and gave me more confidence. A big thank you to Gavin Fowler for his caring and helpful advice throughout the course. Loved meeting all the others on the programme. Brilliant experience.

Brilliant Medical Expertise and Compassionate Staff
I recently underwent surgery at Nuffield Health and was cared for on the BL Chesterfield Ward. The level of care I received was absolutely outstanding. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my consultant, Mr. Reyad Abbadi, for his exceptional professionalism and expertise, which inspired absolute confidence from the start. Special thanks also to Mr. Jack Sinclair, Dr. Neil Rasburn, and the entire ward staff for their deep attentiveness, genuine kindness, and dedication during my early recovery. The medical care here is exceptional, and I highly recommend this team.
General Surgery
Recently had surgery at the Bournemouth Nuffield. Without exception all the staff were kind, friendly and helpful.
The room was clean, food was tasty but
what stood out was the staff from consultant who was kind, reassuring and put me at ease to all the nurses, anesthetic team and recovery. Thankyou for being professional and friendly.

Fantastic experience from the staff here.
Quick, efficient, friendly professional and efficient staff who were always there.
Special mention and thanks to Ali the RNA on the ward, and Dr Chris Oppong and his surgical team.
Slightly overwhelmed at just how good the hospital is.
Healthcare the way it should be...
Outstanding *****
Fabulous place.
I was a member of the gym for about 2 years and never set foot in it. I went one day to cancel membership and met Holly a personal trainer. She spoke to me for quite a while and asked me to give her the opportunity to learn about the gym and she would help me. It’s been a year now and Holly has transformed me not only physically but also mentally. I still have my once a week session with her but I also go on my own and follow on what she does with me. She always pushes me that little bit more , she knows how far to push me and makes it enjoyable and at times hard but I love it. I was fat and old and had zero confidence. I’m still old but look so much younger and my confidence is now 10/10. If any one is thinking about joining a gym join here and get Holly to work with you. Admittedly it’s not the most up to date gym in terms of equipment but Holly makes up for that. She’s firm but has this ability to know just how far she can push you. She’s funny and before you know it your session is up, you have sweat on your body and you feel tired but absolutely fantastic. Almost 5 stone gone over the year with exercise and healthy eating. I bought the Cambridge diet of shakes and powdered meals. Holly said put it in the bin and explained about proper food instead of it. That’s what I did and I’m 5 stone lighter at the age of 60. All the other staff seem equally nice. I once couldn’t get a machine to work and called one of the trainers to help and sort out the machine. With a twinkle in his eye he explained nothing wrong with the machine I just wasn’t going fast enough to make it switch on. He didn’t belittle me or laugh at me but I was howling with laughter and then so was he. It was so nicely done not to embarrass me but to find something funny in the situation. To this day I still remember he whispering it to me so no one else could hear. Love this place and would recommended to anyone fearful of joining a gym.

Very good for stay in hospital but after discharge almost impossible to receive adequate, timely attention for pots-op issues, necessitating emergency assitance at NHS A&E.

Car park fines are a scam
Car park fines are a scam. Clearly supported by top management, how dare you put us in this position.
Gyms are a bit worn and uncared for.
Im considering cancelling.
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish.
From start to finish the care for my husband Terry from The Nuffield was excellent. The staff and consultant were so caring and very good at their job. Friendly and put your mind at ease , explained everything to him about his full knee replacement.

From the moment I walked through the doors, everyone made me feel comfortable and cared for. The procedure went as planned and all the medication that I needed to go home with was ready and waiting in my room. I was shown how to administer it, and was even provided with a check sheet so that I knew what times I needed to take which medication. Excellent service.
Professional and caring staff overall
My overall experience was very positive. The consultant and medical staff were professional, kind, and very supportive throughout the process. They explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable and well cared for. The only area that could be improved is the reception service, as the reception staff sometimes seemed uninterested and less welcoming compared to the rest of the team. Apart from that, the service and care were excellent

Had a full knee replacement and from the initial consultation to the discharge after surgery every person was friendly, helpful, professional, reassuring, informative and caring. This was an exceptional experience for something that could be so unpleasant
