Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking. Was accused of owing over £600 from 2016 over 10 years ago for my personal membership at Nuffield Wolverhampton and told it will be cancelled unless i pay it. I have 6 memberships with Nufield health currently costing me over £500 per month for my busiesness so i have decided I will cancel all 6 and take them elsewhere. Facility are sub par at best for such an expensive gym. £120 per month for An adult and child membership is a joke for these facilities

I joined the Joint Pain Clinic only August 2026…

I joined the Joint Pain Clinic in August because I have arthritis in my right knee since 2011. It has been improved by an injection at Relive Physio. I have managed the pain and do not wish to have a knee replacement or any surgery at all. After hearing of the Joint Pain Clinic from a friend I filled in the form and waited over 6 months for any communication. I made frequent attempts to join a class via email, text and phone call with the member of staff who runs the classes in Chester. By the time I was booked in this year I was only able to go to three sessions as I was back to work in schools three mornings a week to work . It seems that if you don't go to the classes simply because of work commitments then you are not offered any other opportunities to go to a Joint Pain session any other time. There does not seem to be a class in the afternoon - they are all full? I was abruptly told yesterday that I was no longer accepted at the Joint Pain Clinic and need to go back to my GP. I thought this was rather dismissive to say the least from the Nuffield and as usual the email is a no-reply email. The member of staff seems to have deleted all the communication as well so I am now back to square one. Thanks Nuffield Joint Pain Clinic - very helpful. I had booked classes at the Gym and was finding that the exercise which I had not done for over a year has been helping my painful right knee, shoulder, neck and elbows in the Yoga and Pilates sessions.

Dear Sue,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with your experience of the Joint Pain Programme.

The programme is delivered as a structured 12-week course, and participants are required to be available for the agreed session times for the entirety of the programme. Due to the way the programme is delivered and the high demand for places, we are unfortunately unable to offer flexibility for participants to attend alternative sessions or transfer between cohorts once a course has commenced.

I appreciate that your work commitments made it difficult to continue attending and understand how frustrating this will have been, particularly as you were finding the exercises beneficial in managing your symptoms.

I am also sorry if the communication regarding your place on the programme felt dismissive. While the intention was to explain the programme requirements, I appreciate that this was not your experience.

Thank you for your constructive feedback regarding waiting times, communication and session availability. We will ensure these comments are shared with the programme team as part of our ongoing service review.

I am sorry again for any disappointment caused.

Kind regards,

Ben

Excellent customer service.

Excellent customer service.

The gym that I am currently using is undergoing a refurbishment which is anticipated to last 6 weeks.
To minimise inconveniences, Nuffield allowed impacted members to use any other nationwide gyms, including higher tier gyms.

Although a group wide communication was sent by head office, some individuals were not aware. When I flagged this, an area general manager got in touch personally to apologise as well as contacted relevant gyms directly to make them aware of the comms and help relevant members.

I was personally touched by the individuals' gesture to go the extra step. Thank you Nuffield for valuing me as a member.

Felt like wasted time.

Felt like wasted time.

Didn't feel all my concerns about numerous falls and the last devastating impact on knees, legs, ankles, gait, foot alignment was not all addressed.

Doctor/surgeon identified 'valgus' which is 'knock knees' in layman's terms - a change I feel is result of falls/deterioration/disability but no guidance on how to address going forward.

Nuffield doctor disagreed with MRI scan report ... which I had via link from GP with 'in-health', Nuffield Doctor advised further imaging of full leg and 'off loading full leg brace'.

BUT - I was told I had to arrange this with GP, therefore back into merry-go-round of the stretched, neigh on it's Knees - NHS.

If Nuffield are happy to take money from NHS resources where is the continuity of care, i.e. having direct access to arrange further imaging and brace and also offer second opinion with another Orthopedic doctor/surgeon.

No clear guidance on what I can do with leg, re exercise, what type etc...

No further on with my damaged leg, and now more protracted delays and all the while my leg is in pain and I'm using it not knowing if I'm causing further damage and deterioration...

Sadly our country has become VICTIM of private Health Care and the destruction of NHS, so ordinary people without deep pockets and thousands in the bank - wait and suffer and there is no CARE either physically or emotionally re the impact.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your consultation did not meet your expectations and appreciate how frustrating it can be when you are living with ongoing pain and looking for clear answers.

Our clinicians aim to provide an independent assessment and recommend any further investigations or treatments they feel may be appropriate. Where additional imaging, referrals or support are required through NHS pathways, these recommendations must usually be progressed via a patient's GP or existing care team.

We are sorry that you were left feeling unclear about the next steps for managing your condition and that the consultation did not provide the reassurance or guidance you were seeking. If you would like this feedback to be formally investigated, please can you contact us via the following link: https://bit.ly/3CD8eqt

Thank you again for your constructive feedback, and we wish you the very best with your ongoing treatment and recovery.

Nuffield Health Ipswich

I recent had an operation at Nuffield Heath Ipswich and have to say that the facilities and the care afforded to me were absolutely first class. I was self funding and every staff member were extremely friendly towards my wife and I, special mention to Nurse Goodall who helped me tremendously to get through the day, explaining all the procedures involved so clearly.

Nuffield is a different experience

I do not want to speak ill of the NHS as the deal with a lot and do an amazing job in not always the easiest circumstances. My gratitude will always be there. However, in saying that the difference in care is chalk and cheese. My experience at Nuffield was completely different and so much easier and a quicker recovery. Thank you so much for what you did for me

I have just completed a 12 week joint pain programme providing expert led activities over two sessions. The facilities at the Health Club are pristine and top quality.
The Reception staff are so friendly and supportive. The swimming area is well managed and the pool, shower facilities, changing room, sauna and steam room are amazing. The studio and gym equipment are extensive and trained personnel offer a wide range of classes and/ support. I cannot find fault and fully recommend this Nuffield Health facility.

I CAN ONLY SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE, MY OWN, FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!

I have visited Nuffield Health now on numerous occasions, both on behalf of myself, friends and Family.. on every occassions the staff at Nuffield Health have gone over and beyond what you would expect from even a private healthcare provider! The location is fabulous.. and from the time you step foot into the reception area, it is just lovely and relaxing. Note: Peggy at the coffee area, fantastic lady! She will look after you right at the start of your journey.. The refreshments are great, clean and always available, from a nice glass of ice cold fresh water, to a warming hot chocolate (when you are feeling a bit down in the dumps.. a perfect pic me up!).. The nurses are proficient, kind and on top of their game.. the consultants, never a rushed interview here!! No.. they are worth every penny.. and leave no stone unturned, in getting to the very source of your pain or problem. The surgeons.. Well all I can say is to sum it all up.. I took the person I most love in my life here, and left her in the more than capable hands of one of their top surgeons... at the age of 92!! She was happy and filled with confidence in: Mr Dawson-Bowling.. and he took the best care anyone could.. which resulted in my dear old Mum, now 94.. being fully recovered and repaired.. within days! Which resulted in myself requesting this particularly fabulous surgeon for my full hip replacement.. with full confidence once again.. and indeed it was not misplaced. I would if given the opportunity or need, never, every choose any other healthcare provider than the NUFFIELD...

Exceptional Care From Start to Finish

I recently visited Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital regarding a problem with my left TMJ. At 56 years old, I had never previously undergone an operation under general anaesthetic, so naturally I was quite apprehensive about the experience.

From the moment I entered the hospital, however, I was made to feel completely at ease. Every member of staff I encountered was friendly, professional and genuinely caring. From the reception team and nurses to the anaesthetic team, the standard of care was exceptional throughout.

I would particularly like to thank my surgeon, Dr Esson, who was professional, reassuring and excellent from start to finish. The team working alongside him were equally wonderful and made what was, for me, a difficult and very personal experience much easier to go through.

The entire process was also impressively efficient. From my first appointment to the day of my operation took only a few weeks, with the necessary tests and appointments arranged smoothly in between.

I wanted to leave this review because I genuinely feel that Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital deserves recognition for the quality of its staff and the care they provide. I arrived feeling nervous about undergoing my first general anaesthetic, but the professionalism, kindness and positive attitude of everyone I met gave me enormous reassurance.

Thank you to everyone at Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital, and especially Dr Esson and his team, for making a challenging experience feel so much more manageable. I am extremely grateful for the care I received and would not hesitate to recommend the hospital.

Profit before patients!

A recent stay in the Brighton Nuffield was NOT a positive experience! Medically ok - except I had to pay for post op eye drops! Not really expected after paying £8000for a total package! Of the 11 pages of admission notes, not one mentioned day case surgery patients - perhaps an appropriate protocol is needed? Although I didn’t go for a gourmet experience, the post op lunch was abysmal! I was told to choose a sandwich, as the rest of the menu was cooked to order! I declined the INSTANT coffee, and was told a bottle of sparkling water MIGHT be available! The tiny sandwich was so cold as to be tasteless - after seven since breakfast not a positive or restorative experience. Profit before patients seems to be their motto!?
