Excellent service

Excellent service from northumbrian water, called them regarding a blocked drain which was on our property but we were unsure if it was the main sewers that were blocked, within 2 hours they came out to us checked everything and found it was our drain to be the issue, as a gesture of goodwill they unblocked the drain for us. Really happy with this service thank you so much!

Absolutely a licence to print money

Absolutely a licence to print money, a monopoly. Bases use on readings from another supplier how is this allowed under data protection laws. I use water therapy for disabled dog drained off as surface water. Doesn’t go through their drains but I’m still charged and have to prove my innocence. Chinese owned, this needs to stop.

Taste like bleech last 2 days

Totally rip of for water!!! £50 another I live with my 2 small children. I don't do anything drastic and it's that much BUT the main issue has been since yesterday my water taste like full on household bleece. I do not use bleech on my glasses or anything to do with washing up so that's out of the equation.... I tried 3 different cups all of which taste the same I left it over night and its still as strong today the taste. Its not just me I've had family members taste too. I wanr a full water test on this water immediately I will not let this go because something is not right. I know in the past its tasted strange and that's been due to pipe disturbances but this is so chemically its just like bleech.

They shouldn’t be allowed to operate

For the last 18 months they have bombarded me with phone calls and letters saying my meter readings are too low They changed the meter yet I still received letters saying readings too low one was sent 3 months after they changed the meter saying they needed to change the meter During this period all of my bills increased by over 50 pounds I received a letter on Wednesday once again stating they had read my meter and readings were too low howling receiver a bill on Friday which is over £60 more I check bill and it’s an estimated bill I then check other bills and according to Northumbria water they haven’t read my meter in 18 months I then contact them and they admit they do have actual readings I ask to make a formal complaint and am told they are unsure of the paperwork required for this i ask too speak to a manager surprise surprise no one available They offer to call me back I explain that I had to remove my phone number as despite me advising them of my working hours and requested they don’t call during working hours they have repeatedly ignored me and bombarded me with phone calls about low meter readings during these times I again ask for letter to be sent acknowledging formal complaint and i am again told that they are not sure about how to do this I then receive an email saying bill is cancelled and new on will be issued and this is the end of the matter I believe this was a deliberate act by Northumbria Water to extort money that isn’t owed from me and if it was any other company I would dispense with their services and sue for my money back It is disgraceful that this company is allowed to run a service that you can’t seek alternative suppliers for I will be making a formal complaint to the regulator

Claimed GDPR prevented supply of information!

I was buying a house in an area near a sewage works and asked if they had any odour complaints or odour reports on the sewage works. They said as I didn't own the house they couldn't give the information out under GDPR rules!! RIDICULOUS!! I was asking about a sewage works, and didn't give details of which house I was buying. Bad smells are very very very public! GDPR doesn't apply.

Blocked drain pretty unpleasant and…

Blocked drain pretty unpleasant and their sub contractor could only partially unblock the problem. Sufficient for the photo to be taken and absolve Northumbria Water.

Next he said he could come back at a cost as them problem was on my side of the estate. Of course how can a customer argue or prove anything.

I went to another company and paid them £250 for a 20 minute job and they cleared it no problems.

A job that wasn't needed had Northumbria water truly cared about customer service and scrutinised their work so to deter their contractor pulling this type of scam.

Absolutely disgraceful.

Their contractors behaviour was…

Their contractors behaviour was disgusting.
I live in Blackhill Consett DH8 8ry work was being carried out, Infront of no 14, they were replacing old pipe and tieing into pipe Infront of my house 20, I came down the street and challenged them as I could not get on my carport, they stated I had been informed by letter, in their defence they had but my wife put it in the bin thinking it was junk mail. I found it strange because the fellow who rents the house out was working with them.
I said if the work was carried over make sure hard plates are put down so I can get on my drive.
When I got back they left a hard plate on the neighbours side, a big hole with cones on mine, I challenged my neighbor who scurried off, I filled the hole in myself and rang the local council, I asked for a copy of the schedule of works two hard plates were supposed to be left, even the man who was on standby told me this when he arrived. We both agreed that this was done our of pure spite. Absolutely immature behaviour. I then checked my CCTV and one of the workman was looking round my house front, WHY???? I'm an elected member and really hope people in my division do not suffer this disgusting behaviour.
This was over two years ago but I have just found these people on here.

Unhelpful Customer Service!

Still waiting on them to provide their terms and conditions to verify why we need to have two names on the bill.

Considering one of those people is unemployed and NEVER gave authorisation for their name to be put on the bill, I questioned how this was reasonable and whether it is entirely legal?!

They mentioned some nonsense about them having to list all people (but conveniently a maximum of two) who are living in the house and using water?

The condescending customer service agent had the gall to say 'well aren't you using water too?' To which I responded well so do my children, so would one of them be added to the bill if I were to leave?

Anyway such a simple thing for them to do, to only include the actual bill payer, which would be accurate and more importantly what we gave permission for them to do. But they are refusing to change this to reflect the correct information.

Very Unhelpful customer service, who appear to be enforcing DECEITFUL and unnecessary rules!!
