Quite disappointing
The site looks absolutely wonderful and is very easily navigated. However the shipping costs are outrageous for the time it takes to ship, plus I had to pay taxes which before buying wasn’t mentioned anywhere.
The pieces themselves are adequate, the vilt pads on the bottom are a very cheap looking light green and not finished too nicely, and the wood has quite a few imperfections. The details in the pieces are sometimes wonky and don’t look like they have been made with a lot of care.
If I had the opportunity to return my purchase and get back my money as well as shipping and taxes I would do so in a heartbeat sadly…
The pieces are fine, the website is fine, and everything is fine. However, for a company calling themselves official Staunton the quality and love for chess pieces is severely lacking and disappointing.

Beautiful chess set
The chess set and separate board are beautiful and very well made. One piece had been damaged in transit. The business were great to deal with and had a replacement delivered to me in no time (and on a bank holiday) When i retuned the damaged piece, they even retuned my postage cost. I had not requested or expected that. Happy customer.

Superb customer services abs replacement of a slightly faulty chess board …
After receiving my Winchester integration chess set a couple of days ago, there was some kind of marking on dark square D4,
I took photos and sent them to the customer services team with an explanatory email., fully expecting that I would have to pay for the whole set to be returned in order to get a replacement sent back, Not only did the customer services team deal with my enquiry immediately (despite being around 5.30pm U.K. GMT, but they quickly said they would send me out another replacement chess board in two days and I could either keep or give away the faulty one to charity! They didn’t quibble or make me pay for returning the faulty board, in addition, Carl, the person that dealt with my emails was so professional, speedy and helpful. I cannot praise their team highly enough and I immediately got over the disappointment and stress of receiving the faulty board and the likely cost incurred of returning it. Staunton have far exceeded my expectations in every way. There would be no question of me ever going anywhere else, especially when so many other companies’ customer service departments deal with their customers so slowly and unhelpfully. In my view, Staunton has illustrated, it is a company by which all others should be measured. Justin. Bedford. Uk

I purchased a chess set and they arrived completely broken, seems like it was dropshipped by some teenager in China. I contacted their support and they refused to refund me.
Don't buy this low quality mess.

Upon reviewing the delivery manifest, it appears you opted for a 48-hour courier service on February 25th, and the delivery occurred on the 27th, in line with your selection. According to courier reports, while the outer packaging had slight markings, there was no damage to the product, as noted by the driver in their comments and report. We appreciate your feedback, but rest assured, we did deliver as scheduled
