These are not gift cards, just pre-paid debit cards with very limited usability

I was given a £15 One4All card and found it very difficult to find somewhere to spend it. Yes, there are lots of retailers listed on their website, but many are just special "town" gift cards marketed by townandcitygiftcards.com.

I did find a couple of retailers that I thought I could use, but I found that I couldn't use the card as part-payment as almost all retailers only allow one form of payment on their websites. So I effectively had to look for something that cost £15 or less in order to be able to use the One4All gift card. One4All do tell you about this limitation in the fine print on each retailer's page, but they conveniently forget to make this clear when these cards are purchased.

One4All do say that you can use the cards as part-payment in-store for some retailers, but I really don't have time to traipse around stores in the hope that someone will accept my card.

I gave up trying to find somewhere to spend my £15, but I did discover that it is possible to donate the balance to the British Red Cross, which I did. At least it will benefit someone else.

I don't think One4All should be allowed to market their cards as "gift cards" as they are plainly pre-paid debit cards with very limited usability. Also, their website is horribly complicated, and seems deliberately designed to obfuscate and confuse customers - I'm sure many people give up trying to spend their cards as it is just too difficult. The winner is, of course, One4All as they have a neat little clause that allows them to claw back 90p each month once the card is 18 months old, so they are effectively getting money for nothing. I wonder how much of their profits comes from clawing back cash from unused cards? Probably a lot more than they get from commission from sales.

Giving someone cash is vastly preferable to giving them a One4All card, unless you dislike the person enough to want to inflict pain and anguish when they try to redeem it. Or buy a real gift card from a retailer who doesn't try to make it difficult to redeem the balance.

Difficult to gift e-voucher

It's good to have the option to send an e-voucher to someone but we wanted to just buy an e-voucher and print it to put in a card which you can't do. It's now been 'claimed' by the person who bought it instead of the recipient so they won't be able to use it easily. Very frustrating.

Please don't buy these cards unless you dislike the receipient

Honestly please don't buy these cards. I receive several every year and always feel dread when I get them. You end up wasting them on stuff you don't really want just to try to spend the "exact" amount of money. Issues include:
You cannot "top up" - if the card is for £20 you cannot just buy something thats £25 and add the £5. It's nonsense.
What is even worse is if you put in in the drawer for a while because you haven't found something you want for that random exact amount yet, after 18 months they start deducting credit from the card! How is that justified?
Final straw today, got a refund for an item I had bought but of course, it was refunded to the one 4 all card, which I had thrown away once it had been spent. It would have no doubt been worth less this month though even if I had kept it due to their "charges".
Just the worst company and gift idea ever.

So difficult to use!

I've had a nightmare trying to activate my card. So frustrating I wish I hadn't been given the card but I feel bad wasting someone else's money and now it feels like a scam. I think everyone just gives up trying and the company keeps all the cash! Incredibly frustrating - avoid! I'm almost frustrated to tears

One of the worst cards out there

Firstly do not buy family members these cards THEY ARE NOT GIFT CARDS. These are just prepaid debit cards, so we got given a £20 card and when you go online to pay for anything you can't enter details under the gift voucher section you have to use this card under the debit card section. So your stuck with having to buy something for for £20 or less you cannot put the £20 towards something more expensive.

Absolutely a nightmare to use. There is also such a delay in getting the confirmation code to even gain access. Please avoid !!!

Impossible to use

It seems One4All want to take your money, then make actually using the gift card as inconvenient as humanly possible so they just get to keep all the cash.

For a start, you can't use them online. There is an apparently a One4All Exchange website, but guess what? It wants a 19-digit card number plus a PIN. I have a 16-digit card number and NO PIN.

If you're thinking about actually getting one of these things for somebody as a gift, take my advice and DON'T. They won't thank you at all (well, they probably will), but then they'll try to use it, realise how impossible a task they've been handed, and hate you for the rest of time.

Seriously - just put money in a card - an actual "voucher" you CAN spend anywhere.

Useless

Pretty useless gift card if you want to use it online from uber to amazon refused!!!!, actually afraid to go into the shop and have it refused!!!

Best point is it's plastic and is really useful for scraping ice of car windows but kinda expensive for 50 quid.

STAY AWAY FROM ONE4NOTHING.

One 4 all is useless

I tried to use one 4 all gift card in M&S my card has £50 on it, the bill was under the staff tried really hard to make the card work, it just kept declining even crashed the till & had to be rebooted, had to pay with my own money in the end as it was embarrassing & the queue behind me was growing out the door!

Will not be using again

Will not be using again. I ordered my 2 nieces the kids gift cards for Christmas. They went to build a bear to use these, at checkout the cards didnt work. My sister had to go into her overdraft to pay for the bears and then claim the money back. Also the refund took a long time so I am not impressed with the customer service. Please dont bother wasting your money on these cards.

Took 3 weeks for my IKEA exchange to arrive

Took 3 weeks for my IKEA card to come through after multiple chases. Had to buy in cash at the time because it hadn't arrived and now stuck with money on an IKEA card I have no use for. Avoid.

Absolute garbage as others have said

Absolute garbage as others have said. Can't find a single online retailer that can take them as a part payment. You can only spend up to the amount on the card, if there's any leftover it can't be used. Can be used in some high street retailers but the checkout staff will have to be happy taking multiple payments.

There are much better gift cards such as Lifestyle Gift Cards that can at least be turned into a gift voucher for your favourite shop and used as a voucher code as part payment towards a larger item.

The amount of money One4All must be sitting on in unused credit must be phenomenal. Great for them, awful for gift recipient and giver.

I've asked family to start using Lifestyle or giving cash.

You can use this as part payment instore simply tell the cashier the value on your card and they can swipe this through, and you can pay the balance. Most retailers can accept up to three forms of payment, but it does depend on each individual retailer if part payment is accepted.

Getting really frustrated

Getting really frustrated. So these exchange codes were sent to me as a gift but I want to use a phyiscal one4all code and so far its not shown how to make that happen so is this money just lost?

02/03/2026 so thats made it worse so that number you ha e supplied I have jist called and they cannot help it has to be an online form and there is no number to speak to someone or a way it feels to fix this.

Bought a digital gift card for a…

Bought a digital gift card for a colleague. After an hour not showing up as purchased on their website so called and was told to wait. Waited 24 hours. Now showing but not issued so called again. 20 minutes on the phone between both calls only to be told someone would get in contact with me within another 24 hours. It is an instant digital gift card and the year is 2026. Really poor service.

It’s approaching 48 hour and still no gift card. Saying you’ll provide feedback so it doesn’t happen again isn’t very helpful as I still don’t have the £50 gift card I paid for.

Currently on the phone with One4all- has now exceeded the 48 hour mark and was told once again to wait by customer service agent and that the gift card is in process. I'm aware it is in process but I'm calling for a resolution.

Now on day 4. I received emails stating I need to wait another 3 to 5 days for an investigation. I'm so confused as to why they can't simply reissue the gift card or approve the original purchase. I just want the gift card I paid for.
