Brilliant insurers
Brilliant insurers, kept me up to date throughout the claim, so I knew exactly where I was via email. Any questions I had were answered very promptly and with a human touch, very much appreciated, took the pressure off a stressful time with my dog. Would reccomend to anyone looking for pet insurance

Found Only Paws to be so easy to use with regards to claims, submit a very easy form online, they contact the vet for any additional information required and usually paid out within a few days or weeks if more complex. Have used for 3 years now and will continue to use

Very good fast service at a very sad time, when my 15 year old beloved labradoodle had to be put to sleep. Clear details of what they paid out for, which was most things apart from the excess. Very grateful. Thank you.

All round brilliant!
I've been with only paws for a few years now for 2 cats. One has regular vet visits with our local vet and a dermatology specialist. All the claims I've made have been settled in full promptly, this goes for direct claims and ones where I pay the vet then they pay me back.
The website is very well designed and easy to use. The claim form is simple.
The other week I submitted the wrong type of claim, so I contacted their support team and they withdrew that claim for me and instructed me on how to make that claim correctly.
I'm really happy with Only Paws and avidly recommend them!

Disappointed
After paying for a full year of pet insurance, we submitted a claim for an illness only to have it denied. The insurer argued that two completely separate and unrelated conditions were connected simply because they affected the same area of the body. As a result, we feel we paid for a full year of insurance without receiving the cover we expected.

Claim declined despite vet evidence!
Claim declined despite vet evidence and years without treatment. Claim declined despite no treatment, medication or ongoing management for the condition during the years prior to policy inception.
Our cat Neo had historic scarring to one eye when we rehomed him, caused by a previous respiratory infection before we owned him. The eye remained stable for years with no treatment required. In November 2025, he then suffered an injury to the eye which rapidly deteriorated and ultimately led to emergency eye removal surgery.
Only Paws initially advised they would review the claim if our vet confirmed the surgery was linked to the later injury rather than an active ongoing pre-existing condition. Our vet provided that statement and confirmed the eye had been stable prior to the injury.
Despite this, the claim was still declined, with the insurer effectively deciding that because historic damage existed, any future issue affecting the eye would always be considered pre-existing regardless of later injury or years of stability.
Very disappointing experience and we are now escalating the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

I The most sincere and honest insurance company by miles.
I wish i could give them 10 stars or more. I had cancelled my renewal but one of their employees has been trying to get in touch with me and today I spoke to her. I was amazed to hear that unbeknown to me, I had been paying for 2 policies by mistake, so the lady not only refunded me over £100, but also cut my renewal price drastically. An amazing lady and I'm blown away by the honesty of the business. How many companies would have just pocketed the money. I am blown away by the service and sincerity of Only Paws and cannot rate them high enough. Exceptional service, friendly staff who you can understand and Staff that go out of their way to ensure the customer comes first. The best organisation I have ever had the pleasure to deal with.
