Poor customer communication/loyalty

This review has less to do with product and more with customer service and communication. I was a loyal customer of Onnit for several years with an ongoing subscription to the old Total Primate Care packs and Alpha Brain. I travel a lot for work and the TPC packs were convenient and effective at keeping me healthy and useful in fighting off colds and other bugs one gets exposed to in airplanes, hotels, etc. I raved about the company and product to family, friends and colleagues on a regular basis.
Over a year ago, I began to notice a severe degradation in quality of the individual packets. Smashed pills, missing pills,etc. Additionally, my subscription service began to be interrupted by bouts of unavailability. After a few unanswered emails, I finally reached a customer service rep who explained that they were switching vendors who would be improving/changing the pills to capsule form but that I should experience no more delays in delivery.
What followed was approximately 3-4 months of zero product availability. Zero customer communication, either directly or broadly on the website to explain the interruption in service or planned product improvement. I tried multiple times to reach someone for updates with zero success- just radio silence. Keep in mind I was a loyal customer having subscriptions to TPC and alpha brain for well over a year, as well as having purchased kettlebells and various other products and supplements over the years. I finally attempted to post a negative review directly on the website- and to no surprise, it was blocked and never posted!
I finally canceled all future subscriptions and switched to a competitor.
Fast forward a month or so and Onnit comes forth with a new and improved Total Human product, complete with trendy and flashy marketing and a new premium price point roughly $30 more per month, even at subscription pricing discount! No incentive to past loyal customers of TPC or communication of this product change whatsoever.
I realize every company has a right to change products, as well as to increase their pricing. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of customer communication and loyalty. This company displays an almost arrogant attitude of elitism toward its’ customer base and utilizes an alliance/partnership with well known athletes, military veterans, and personalities (whom I’d like to support) in order to drive sales through exclusivity. But their actions toward customers while interrupting subscription services of products with no explanation is in poor form and lacks even the most basic degree of consideration or communication.
There are several supplement/nutrition companies out there offering equal or superior products, at similar or superior price points that value your business and loyalty. At the premium prices Onnit requires, customer service, communication and loyalty should be on point. My experience over the course of several months was anything but “Onnit”.

The process of product development for Total Human from Total Primate Care (TPC) was lengthy, and we were as transparent as possible; why the formula was changing, the extended timeline, and price adjustment. The worst part about the transition to Total Human was the timeline. TPC was a customer (and employee) favorite and it was painful to go without inventory for as long as we did. As an outcome, however, we had a far superior product. No more crushed pills and more nutrients: an upgraded TPC. This formula comes at a cost, however, it helps to fill nutritional gaps in the diet and it does it conveniently.

It is disappointing to see that the service experienced was more than underwhelming. By the sound of your recent experience(s), your contact attempts weren't handled within the expectations of our agents. We have attempted to locate an account for you, but this platform keeps all reviewer information secure. That said, we believe we have found your account, but we are not seeing the contact requests you are indicating you have made. We understand that you could have used an alternate email address so these findings could be inaccurate. We would like to verify this information so management can use this as a training opportunity.

Alpha Brain Sample, Suggest Lowing Dose, Works as Inteneded

I ordered the free sample of Alpha Brain and enjoyed it. Overall, I felt more alert, motivated, and strong. About the third day I was taking it my heart started racing and my tongue felt a little swollen. I chalked it up to not eating enough with it for breakfast, but it happened again the next day. Unfortunately this was the last of my pills, so I didn’t have the chance to see if lowering the dose to 1 pill would fix my problems. Although I assume lowing the dose would take away my negative side effects.

About the subscription - I did receive an email reminding me to update my subscription if I didn’t want to be billed again, after my free trial which was nice.

Ordered a steel mace from Onnit

Ordered a steel mace from Onnit. Payment was excepted and order was processed. After 5 or so days I reached out asking for tracking. It was provided. The tracking number was not accepted on the carriers website. At this point I believed the package just had not shipped yet and was still in the processing phase which would cause the tracking number to not track. A week goes by still the tracking pro number did not work. Reached back out to Onnit, waited two days finally got a response which they stated the package shipped. Ok fine... Fast forward two weeks of going back and forth with an associate I finally get the news they were out of the material ... Now here I am , the mace is back in stock and I order it again. This time I use a coupon code the customer care associate gave me to take a few bucks off the total and lo and behold it does not work. In general I'm not even mad I have just been rolling my eyes at how bad this group seems to operate. Buy at your own risk guys. The other products I have gotten have been ok, their logistics team and shipping process is just terrible.

Back in August 2018, we started using a third party shipper to ship all of our fitness equipment in a centralized US location to better delivery time.

Unfortunately, we hit some hard speedbumps with this company and regretfully it was at the cost of the customer. We join you in this frustration and profusely apologize for this. In your case, our shipper allowed too many Steel Maces to be sold, and still communicated to our team here at Onnit that it was shipped.

This is not meant to be an excuse, rather be completely open and honest about this huge frustrating situation you went through just trying to order this Steel Mace.

Terrible products

Terrible products, unreliable brand. I had purchased their Interval backpack that has since been taken off of their website and replaced with a new, equally as trashy backpack. I had two of these backpacks of the same model break on me. The first Interval backpack I had starting to come unseamed where the strap attaches to the pack around your shoulder. It had lasted about 6 months before that happened. Onnit had me sent me a replacement as I sent in the faulty product. The replacement also lasted around 7 months before the same issues started occcuring. I contacted their customer service and they told me they would reimburse me 50% of the actual purchase because they felt that was "appropriate" I disputed with their lackluster customer service via email for about a week (keep in mind it took them about 10 days to give me 3 responses, with multiple day gaps in between) before they said they were done with the support ticket. This infuriated me as I have been a multiple time customer of onnit, and the fact that they strictly adhere to their quality standard of ABSOLUTE TRASH has turned me away for good. I will not be purchasing anything from them and I very much encourage others to not fall for their scams whether it be supplements, or apparel.

Save your time and money!

Save your time and money!
Paid for shipping and was charged $55.77 a month later. No email confirmation for my initial transaction and when I disputed the charge they told me I was out of luck. So now I'm waiting for a bottle of crap to get to my house so I can pay to have it returned.

Cognitive improvement

Would never use any Onnit products…

Would never use any Onnit products again. I signed up for the free Alpha Brain sample. I did not see any difference, but I can accept that. What I can't accept is that I then was billed for another shipment of Alpha Brain that they said I had opted into when I signed up for the free sample. Maybe I missed the fine print but this is shady marketing. I opted out of the program and I just received another email and shipment of Alpha Brain AFTER I opted out, and I was billed again! I called and said I wanted my money back for both times they charged me they said they could only credit my last shipment. Do not use this company.

The Alpha Brain pills were just alright.

I did feel as though the Alpha Brain pills had an overall positive effect. However, I found that they did leave my head feeling almost heavy or like there was more pressure in my skull. They did seem to make me more focused on completing the task in front of me for a couple hours. I will likely try the Alpha Brain instant in the future, but I was not too crazy about the pills.

Endless energy in a bottle!

I cannot believe how well this product works! I am a 38 year old factory worker that walks around in circles for money all day. I enjoy weightlifting and some light cardio and have until now been a slave to lady caffeine. My shift flip flops 12hrs every 2 weeks which is, as you can imagine quite exhausting. I have been using Shroom Tech Sport for about 2 weeks and I feel stronger, almost endless energy and even my anxiety seems to be held at bay..I will be ordering this and more onnit products immediately and would recommended this to anyone.

I really believe in the Onnit products!

I really believe in the Onnit products! The only thing holding me back from using more of the Onnit products is my own personal finances. I am working on my fiancés and hope to have the products as a household staple one day. I am a single mom, from a very challenging background. I have learned so much from Aubrey Marcus and Joe Rogan's podcasts. I just purchased Aubrey's book and cant wait to read it and hope to pass it on to my fourteen year old son.

What I feel makes your product unique is the personal assistance you provide. Providing information and help to people who do not have common knowledge of the health, wellness, and supplement market is greatly needed and appreciated.

I do wish that the Onnit Academy could offer some sort of mentor program, maybe like a youth summer camp, that could provide not only physically training at the gym in Arizona, but also a spiritual journey to help cleanse the mind for at risk youth. That would be awesome!!

Living a healthy and well balanced lifestyle both physically and mentally is very new to me and my son. I am excited about our new journey!!

I just recieved my free trial the other day. Im not sure if it helps any with my mood during the day but I think it has been helping me sleep better at night. Maybe after using it for awhile it will do more.
